After the power went out in half of my house, on a Saturday, Norm took my call, asked me several diagnostic questions and ultimately referred me to call Southern California Edison as he believed it might be on their end. This was not something that I would've even thought of since I had, some power, and as a relatively new homeowner, this was a vital lesson for me going forward. Norm did take the time to schedule of his guys to come out on a Sunday morning for half the price I was quoted from two other companies, but ultimately the time Norm took on the phone call, equipped me with the info I needed to Elevate this to SCE. We had Norm here today to do a series of electrical work on our condo. We had agreed on what work and ballpark price ahead of time. He arrived within the timeframe he'd promised, and brought an assistant with him to speed the process up. Within minutes, the two were already tackling all issues. Norm assessed one of the issues I had and politely suggested we don't do it, that it wasn't necessary (which is a great show of honesty in my opinion!). Another one (a faulty outlet) turned out to be working fine (somehow), but he did check thoroughly before moving on. They then addressed the two main issues we had: changed the light fixture on our dining room, and fixed a non-working ceiling light on our bedroom - both done quickly and efficiently. Norm also fixed a problem in our laundry room in 3 minutes - the vent and the power were connected in the same switch, making us always turn the vent on whenever we needed to use get in the windowless laundry room - that had been annoying us since we first moved! In the end, their service was extremely friendly, polite, professional, fast, and he ended up charging us less than he'd originally estimated (we did add a tip as a thank you, of course!) I find that people don't tend to lie about contractors here (unlike restaurant reviews) so it was easy to pick Shining Light Electric out of the crowd. I had to have electrical redone on my patio plus I had four lights put in he spent a long time out there and it was very reasonable what he charged me for that job and it looks beautiful. After being stood up by another electrician on 2 separate days, I contacted Norm (recommended by a neighbor) who fit me into his day within 2 1/2 hours for a breaker that was switching off. He quickly discovered that breaker and another next to it had barely inserted wiring causing them to overheat. This whole panel was installed by a contractor 9 years earlier that also didn't bother to connect a whole house surge protector I bought, they just placed it in the box and tucked the wires behind others!
