Being here was several weeks, I worked from hime to let them have access to the backyard and inside the house for their needed repairs. They all worked without issue and concern, and provided necessary updates when available. Communication with the city for permits was at issue at first, and an initial inspection was missed. As myself and the team weren't aware it was taking place at that specific time. 2nd inspection, the inspector was several hrs late and made the contractors wait all day, and no work could get done that day. Inspections after were good. Only issues I noted were a number of nails left out in my yard, all in the same area vicinity. Where my dog also goes out to walk, so that was a little concern. But there was nothing else that occured, and clean up for was good before and after. Total work - $18k+

1 Star: The Patio Looks Nice, but That's About It!…read more While I will admit that the finished patio looks nice, that is honestly the only positive thing I can say about my experience with this construction company. The construction has been ongoing for months at Greenhaven Oaks Apartments, and the lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for residents' personal property has been extremely disappointing. During construction, workers damaged my children's belongings, including my daughter's baby carriage and my child's bicycle. Nobody even had the decency to notify me that my child's bike had been broken. They also put a hole through my living room wall, which was eventually patched but left unpainted and unfinished. What is especially frustrating is what happened to my children's recycling. I have been teaching my kids responsibility by having them sort and separate our recyclables on their own. They worked hard to organize everything, separating the materials and bagging them up properly. We had seven bags of recyclables ready to go. The following weekend, we lost access to our backyard because of the construction, and we still have not regained access. Now, only one bag of glass bottles remains. I have no idea what happened to everything else. This was not just a pile of recyclables. It was something my children took the time and effort to organize as part of learning responsibility, and now their hard work has essentially disappeared without any explanation. I have already reported these issues to my apartment management, including the damaged baby carriage. A nice-looking patio does not excuse damaged property, missing belongings, poor communication, or a complete lack of accountability. Residents should not have to discover damage to their belongings or repeatedly complain just to have their concerns acknowledged. At the end of the day, the patio may look good, but the way this company treated residents and their belongings was anything but professional. The finished product might deserve five stars, but the overall experience deserves one.

They were sure to let me know when they would be there each day, and let me know when they found issues (and there were more than a few with our old house). They ended up fixing a number of problems with the woodwork around the house that I hadn't noticed how bad they were until they were exposed. Five big stars for Blyss Construction…read more Having had our homeowner's insurance cancelled (after 18 years with Travelers - thanks!), we decided to have our sided replaced with Hardie Board. After receiving an astronomical quote from a local contractor, I went to the Hardie website to request bids. Three highly-rated firms reached out to me within 24 hours, and all three came onsite within a week to scope the project and provide an estimate. As they were all recommended by Hardie, I was impressed with the knowledge that each estimator demonstrated. But Alex from Blyss really stood out. He shared knowledge and pictures from projects that were similar to ours. Blyss also had the highest ratings on Google and Yelp. It also helped that his bid was very competitive. Alex was extremely responsive to questions - in fact, one theme with Blyss is that they were lightning-quick to respond to inquiries, day or not, weekdays and weekends. While Alex said that they were running projects about 3 weeks out, I asked whether they could start sooner, given the oncoming "Super El Nino." Alex made it happen - we signed the contract on a Friday and Blyss arrived with a full crew on Monday. I think we got a little lucky, but this became typical of our experience with Blyss. Everybody with whom we engaged was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and aiming to please. The team arrived between 7 AM and 8 AM every day. Every crew member worked hard throughout the day to advance the project. I want to particular call out the Project Manager, Nazar, and his foreman, David. They answered questions knowledgably and made sure that we understood everything about the project. Despite the scale and complexity of the project, they were essentially done in two weeks, coming to finish last touches on a Saturday. When inspecting the work, we came up with a small punchlist of items that we weren't satisfied with. They came out for one final day to complete all of those without any pushback. This is a 5-star experience. The biggest plus for Blyss is the trust they inspired. I never felt at risk of being ripped off or receiving sub-standard work. There were no hidden surprises - just a hardworking, knowledgeable, and affordable company doing great work.
