If you have never dined at The Old Ledge, all I can say is GET. THERE. NOW!…read more Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, I promise you, you will receive some of the best food you've ever had in your life! I stopped in on wing Wednesday, and boy, oh boy, was I in for a treat. On Wednesdays, their wings are .75 cents per wing, a minimum of 10 per order. So, in true foodie fashion, I decided to order some for "now and later." I chose their Val wings, Salt & Pepper, and Korean BBQ. We also ordered a Cheesesteak, I had been told by 2 people that this was the best cheesesteak in town, and I just had to try it for myself. Let's start with their wings. Are they a great value ? Yes! Were they amazing? Also, yes! These wings were simply great. Great size, great flavor profile, just great across the board! I can't imagine coming here and not ordering their wings. So good! You're probably thinking, well, what about the cheesesteak... well, I can assure you that the 2 people who suggested I try it did not steer me wrong. This cheesesteak was delicious!!! Full of tender steak, toppings, and loaded with cheese just how I love it. To make matters even better on Tuesdays, you can order a loaded cheesesteak & fries for only $8. The Old Ledge is truly a hidden gem. Great atmosphere, amazing bar staff, and a phenomenal cook!

I've just tried their wings so far, but I'll be back there to try other foods that they have on their menu pretty soon.

We visited The Nest Tavern and it was very good!…read more We were on a mission to take a long and winding ride through the country to see some early fall foliage, and I had been wanting to check out The Nest Tavern, located in the quaint area of Apulia Station, right near Lafayette. there was plenty of parking available on the right hand side, and we walked into the VERY RUSTIC and cozy bar/restaurant. A very busy, but friendly bartender informed me that they didn't have waitress service, but customers could simply order at the bar and then be notified with a convenient little remote buzzer that their food was ready. We both ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, which had nice sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese on it along with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. We took a walk on the wild side and ordered tater tots along with our burgers and they were very tasty with a little ketchup drizzled on them. Yes, we normally opt for slightly healthier sides with our meals, but the tater tots sounded and tasted really good! We both devoured our meals and finished every bite and truth be told, did not eat another thing again that day because we were so full. One thing I liked about the is that the restaurant has these nice little, square stainless steel mesh, condiment caddies with everything you need in it that you can take right to your table. Another great feature about this establishment as that they routinely have live music performances every week from May through September and have a tall, covered, wooden pavilion for the bands to perform under with ample seating, tables, and bar service available. Our bill came to just $30 plus tip and we thought that was very reasonable, considering the friendly atmosphere, good food, and quality service. We will definitely be back, perhaps in the spring when the trees are blooming, and the first band of the season is ready to hit the stage. Food: Service: Atmosphere:

This was our first time to The Nest. We were interested in checking out their outdoor concert…read morearea. We arrived just as a local band was getting ready for a three hour set (4-7pm) on a Sunday afternoon. Cover charge was $5.00 each. There were quite a few people there, but there was still room to sit in the spacious outdoor deck/stage area. There's also an outside bar area to grab a drink, instead of having to run inside to the regular bar. Food was available, but we did not try anything. The indoor vathrooms were pretty small, but served the purpose. The music was very good, the sound was loud enough, without blaring out of the speakers. There's a roof over the outside deck, but it's in different sections, so the sun does shine though in areas, making it a little hot when it's hitting you. Our only complaint would be the amount of people that were smoking. There is no way to get away from the cigarette smoke wafting in your face. Other than that, it seems like a great venue to enjoy some live music, a drink and a bite to eat. We definitely plan on going back.
