I had no idea how balanced hormones could help the symptoms I was dealing with. She has knowledge that is beyond what a person can absorb in an hour, but has tons of reading material I could print and take on my business trips. After just 30 days, I feel AMAZING! Worst ER I have ever been to. I've had better care in the middle of nowhere Nevada. The nursing…read morestaff disregarded my pain and were more focused on moving me to a back corner room so they didn't have to hear my moaning in pain. My wife (who's also a nurse at a different Swedish facility) asked my nurse to call pharmacy and expedite verifying my pain meds but the nurse sarcastically responded "Congratulations, you're a nurse!" Refusing to call pharmacy, and said "We can all hear him screaming..trust me". There were three nurses sitting at the nurses station periodically giggling and looking at their phones when my wife made the request. However the doctor- Casey M Krebs was by far the worst part of my visit. She seemed incapable of creating a care plan and didn't show any urgency. She seemed more focused on pacifying us for the moment and quickly leaving the room than actually helping us understand our options or initiating the process of me transferring to a hospital with urology. We were still asking her questions as she was trying to close the door and leave. It was obvious she did not like it when my wife asked any questions on my behalf, and completely disregarded her concern that the CT results showed severe hydronephrosis. The doctor said "That is not the focus. Im not concerned about his hydronephrosis, Im concerned about his kidney stones." I got such poor care that I decided to leave AMA while still in severe pain and drive to Swedish Edmonds, which was the best decision I made that day. To be honest I'm not sure the staff at Mill Creek even knew the process of transferring me, let alone doing it quickly. Once I arrived at Edmonds they took my case seriously from the start, scheduling me for emergency surgery the next day to remove the obstructive stone. My pain was well managed and my whole care team was incredibly skilled and empathetic. I am still completely disheartened with my experience at Mill Creek and would advise ANYONE considering it to go anywhere else.

Update- 4 years post sleeve…read more Absolutely phenomenal from the initial meeting to now, 4 years later. My husband, myself and my husband's mother have all had gastric sleeves done with Dr. Billings. His bedside manner is wonderful. The price is high (paid out of pocket) but you get what you pay for - we literally bought ourselves more LIFE. More TIME. More ENERGY. More MENTAL SPACE (not having to worry about everything I put in my mouth). It sounds drastic- cutting out 70% of your stomach, but honestly it reset our bodies to experience fullness in a completely new way. I could always eat a little "more" before. I'd be "full" but seemed to have a second stomach or sugar/desserts. Now the experience of fullness is completely different. It's dramatic and intense- no more insane cravings to binge or mental fixation on the next diet craze. We had kids late, at 38 and 41, and I can chase after my toddler without feeling winded. I don't feel like a constant failure for eating carbs. The only food I can't tolerate that I could pre-sleeve is dairy milk. All meats, nuts, raw veggies, etc are fine. A lot of people have negative bias against gastric sleeves because they know someone who did it a decade or more ago and it "didn't work" long term. I'm here to say the technology has improved dramatically. I believe it's going to be incredibly common in the US in the next 10 years and will be solution to the obesity epidemic for those of us who were raised by the 50 billion dollar diet industry. Note- I'm not a fan of ideal protein, the low calorie nutritional program they have- I did it 4x at other places before getting sleeved. Always gained the weight back after the program ended and I was starving while doing it. After being sleeved, I no longer have to worry about food. I yo-yo dieted for 27 years (since I was 10 years-old). I was always 30-60lbs overweight, not huge but mentally the load was insane. To be honest, the recovery was fairly simple. Easier than my C-section when I was fat. Pain was only bad days 1 and 2. I lost 100lbs and have effortlessly kept it off for 4 years, I am 43 years-old and even had baby #2 after surgery. The 29lbs I gained during this time pregnancy fell off effortlessly in 6 weeks postpartum. When I was fat I gained 60lbs and only lost 10lbs afterwards (my baby was 10lbs so I held onto the extra 50 lb weight gain post baby #1). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Billings and his team when it comes to gastric sleeve surgery.

He is an amazing surgeon, always takes the time to thoroughly walk through procedures with me and address questions and makes himself personally available to contact if I have any complications from procedures. My neighbor had lost over 70 pounds on 3010, so my wife and I decided to sign up. In ten weeks I lost 34 pounds and I couldn't be happier. My visceral fat went from 14 to 5, my body fat % from 29.7 to 17% and I dropped nearly 35 inches in overall measurements. There is no better feeling than donating all of your clothes and buying the sizes you wore in high school. I've also move my BP & Cholesterol from danger zones to healthy levels in just a few months. Many people will tell you that this program is expensive but I disagree. First, 80% of your calories will come from food they provide to you, but you are also gaining access to their state of the art scale and weekly coaching sessions. The accountability they provide is the key, even if it doesn't feel great when you hear it. Over the past decade, my family spent nearly $12,000 on a YMCA membership. We rarely use it and I was my fattest I have ever been during that time. For a fraction of that cost, I was finally able to get my weight to a healthy range and now I am armed with the tools to keep it that way. I can honestly tell you that I am in the best shape of my adult life and I highly recommend 3010 to anyone who is serious about getting improving their health and weight.
