He assured me that he would oversee my training plan, even on days I worked with another trainer. I trained both with the owner and a second trainer. My sessions with the owner were positive, and I felt the workouts were appropriate. However, the issue arose with the second trainer. Although I was paying the higher rate specifically because the owner said he would supervise all programming, that oversight did not happen in practice. At one point, I communicated that I was experiencing pain in my right hip/groin area and asked to scale things back. Despite this, the trainer had me perform exercises like barbell squats and farmer carries. I explicitly asked whether these were safe given my condition, and I was assured they were. They were not. Following these sessions, I was later diagnosed with a labral tear, which has significantly impacted my mobility and required extensive recovery, time, and financial investment. I'm not writing this to attack a small business, but I do believe this situation reflects: * Lack of proper supervision * Inadequate adjustment for injury history * Poor judgment when a client reports pain If you're considering training here, I strongly recommend making sure: * Your program is truly customized * Communication about pain is taken seriously * The level of supervision matches what you're paying for This experience had a serious impact on my health and daily life, and I hope sharing it helps others avoid a similar situation.

It was so challenging for me; I remember crying after workouts because it was so mentally exhausting. I almost quit after a few months, but the community and encouragement kept me coming back, day after day. Aside from the increased strength and mobility, maintaining this routine has built mental resilience and grit. I would argue that this may be more important to me than the physical strength I have gained. Crossfit has taught me to stay calm in discomfort, how to break big challenges into manageable pieces, and to show up and do what I know is best, despite my emotions or motivation. After continuing CrossFit through my last two pregnancies, I learned to appreciate the ability to scale any movement. To meet you where you're at, proving that CrossFit can be for anyone. It's no wonder 7 of my 8 kids have done CrossFit at some point, with 5 of them currently training at Fortem. I'm so grateful that through the kids classes, they get to experience the Fortem community at such a young age! We all know how amazing the community of members and coaches are! I truly believe we have the most knowledgeable, welcoming, and wholesome gym environment. I am looking forward to continuing my Crossfit journey at Fortem for many years to come!

The energy inside those walls is different -- it's positive, uplifting, and contagious. You've created more than just a gym; you've built a community where people are encouraged to push past limits, support one another, and grow into the best version of themselves. Your leadership sets the tone. The culture of accountability, encouragement, and resilience doesn't happen by accident -- it starts with you. Because of that, Fortem isn't just a place to train; it's a place where confidence is built, friendships are formed, and character is strengthened. Thank you for investing in people, for believing in growth, and for creating an environment where hard work and positivity go hand in hand. It truly makes a difference.

I was browsing my MindBody app for a Friday evening work out and discovered Mindful Space Yoga and…read moreMeditation. An individual class is $25. They have packages and memberships. I especially dislike that the packages expire after 2 months. Too much risk and no upside for me to invest in that when I don't live in the area. If this is your first time to the studio, they are located off Foothill and San Antonio in the same plaza as Sprouts and Red Devil Pizza. I was able to fill out my waiver ahead of time on the app, or you can come early and sign your waiver at the studio. On the day of my visit the receptionist greeted me. The class prior was late getting out so I got a quick tour of the studio. They had a waiting lobby area in front, cubbies and bathroom in the back. I like the the studio space is separated by doors so there is a more peaceful ambiance for the classes as others come and go. I took the Restorative Yoga for Healing with Debbie. I brought my own blanket to be cozy in restorative poses cause I am allergic to wool blankets and sure enough this place has wool blankets. They also have bolsters and bricks for you to borrow. This restorative class had students against the wall for some legs up the wall poses. I really liked Debbie's instructions. She was good with the emphasis on breathwork and reminding us to breath throughout the class. The poses were very restful and relaxing. Here's my issue though. The class description on the mind body app talks about Reiki. I attached the screenshot with my review. I expected reiki coming into this class. I even had a conversation with the receptionist about reiki. So during the first few poses I was surprised the instructor wasn't coming around at all. Then I thought maybe she's going to do it all at the end during our shavasana... but nothing. What the heck... This feeling is like I paid for a garlic shrimp and got a tasty shrimp dish with no garlic flavor. Like THIS ISN'T WHAT I PAID FOR. This is no offense to Debbie but this is a management flaw. Update your information if it's changed. There are a lot of other restorative classes on Friday evenings in the area and the other ones even provide optional aroma therapy to deepen the stress relief. I liked the class fine but I don't like not getting the service I paid for. That's called false advertisement. I should have left feeling super relax but I left feeling super annoyed about the lacking reiki service I expected coming to this class. Also the promise of the reiki is the reason why I booked this class over other restorative yoga classes that were cheaper. I feel pretty bamboozled!

Felt at home the first day, ( I was a yoga newbie who dislIkes big gym exercises classes.) The people in the classes are also friendly and welcoming. No judgement, no pressure, no yoga snobs here, just regular folk of all ages, body types, and ability levels who are warm, friendly, and welcoming. The instructors are great! If they haven't seen you before they introduce themselves and ask your name etc. And OMG, they remember your name the next time! I attend a mid morning therapeutic class that is perfect for me. The instructors work with your personal struggles (like knee, hip, or foot issues) and suggest different modifications. I am so happy I found this studio. It's a gem! Don't let the strip mall location fool you. Once inside, you're in a wonderful, clean, environment with a tranquil Zen aesthetic.

You are going to spend more money and have more issues at another gym. Trust. The pregnant manager goes around and sanitizes and vacuums--that's not going to happen at other gyms. Staff is super nice and friendly. The gym does run its A/C. Thank you for not being cheap because I don't know who wants to workout in a hot and stinky gym. Members keep to themselves--reasons why I have left other gyms. I'm giving it a 5 (but really a 4.5). I wish they had more/better equipment. They really need machines similar to Gold's Gym. Gold's has more leg machines but their stuff is always broken lol. Fit 19 has some repetitive and hardly-used equipment. I love that you can go into the studio and access all the kettlebells/weights/bars/mats This is usually restricted in other gyms. They often do not let you use weights in the studios at other places. The turf area is nice as well and is always kept clean and organized. People don't leave weights all around the gym--like at other gyms. The equipment is rarely broken like at other gyms with higher price points. You'll be lucky if LA Fitness' cardio machines are working. The spin bike room is so nice compared to other gyms as well. There's a lot more bikes compared to other spin rooms. All in all, you get what you pay for and in my opinion, I'm getting more than what I pay for--$10 a month. It's not a high-fees micro-managed establishment like most lower priced gyms.

I usually go on the weekends with my friend because my home gym their hours aren't the greatest on the weekends, so this particular weekend stood out because out of all the gyms I have gone to being a member or being a plus one was one of the more interesting experiences to say the least. While my friend was scanning in I didn't see a worker in the front so I just walked in instead of having to do the signing in process as a guest, and I look over and whoever was supposed to be working was sitting down in her chair with her head down, and she was like that for like a very long time definitely over 15 minutes. Well over 15 minutes. I guess she was supposed to be the one working. It was really unprofessional I did want to buy a drink but once again she had her head down not doing anything. I thought she was sleep to be honest. It sure looked like she was sleep. Especially from the time me and my friend were there until close to leaving. It was the short girl with the glasses who is always looking mean. This was around the later evening times I believe. On top of that the wipes ran out, and you can't tell her anything because she also has an attitude but this time, she was sleep or whatever so had to go and try to find wipes to clean the equipment, the next weights that I was going to use. Hopefully next time she will have better customer service skills, but it definitely wasn't a good look. Hopefully management or whoever will clean up the act there and make sure things like that don't happen because anything can happen, gym members including me who comes as a guest need help with things. All I am saying is that shouldn't be the first thing people come in and see is someone who is working is looking like they are sleeping or too tired to function and do their job.

Instead of being welcomed, I was immediately treated with disrespect and condescension. The front desk employee (a young man with a mohawk--didn't catch the name) opened the interaction with, "You're here for what?"--not hello, not welcome, not even basic courtesy. When I asked for a tour to compare prices before signing up, I was told they would not show me the gym unless I first purchased a childcare membership. It got worse. I was then told, "I don't think you'll even be able to afford it, so this isn't going to work out for you." That comment was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and humiliating--especially said in front of my children. I left feeling judged and disrespected. Whether based on appearance or assumption, the interaction felt discriminatory and hostile, the exact opposite of what a family-friendly gym should be. Ironically, I choose to live humbly and do very well for myself--but no one should ever be spoken to this way, regardless of income, race, or background. You don't judge people by how they look. Save your money. For about $10 more per month, LA Fitness offers far better value, professional staff, and nationwide access--without the judgment or arrogance. Chuze Fitness Rancho Cucamonga needs serious training in customer service, inclusivity, and basic human respect.
