They have their Christmas decorations out and it really put me in the holiday mood to browse through their shop. I was pleased to see their big collection of Ohio State items - Go Bucks! I've known about this book store for a while, but I'm never in the area and I have another one a block away from where I live. That being said, I was nearby, and wanted a coffee so I swung through Kitties. That's when I realized Gramercy Books was connected by a shared wall. I love it! I browsed around, fell deep into their nice selection of plant focused books, then hunted out my favorite authors because I've been in need of a great book that I know I'll love right off the bat. That's when Kurt Vonnegut and Malcolm Gladwell come into play. Lucky for me I hadn't come across Malcolm's newest book yet and they had it. That was a must, as I have almost every other book he's written. I go back and forth on Vonnegut, non-fiction is an awesome way to escape. Being that he's from the midwest (Indy to be exact), a lot of his writings are based in the area which is fun. I was directed to the section he was in by a wonderfully helpful staff member. They had several of his writings I don't already have so I swiped one of those up too. If you're like me and prefer the OG way of diving into a good book, this book store is a lovely choice. It's definitely a locally owned one that's worth the drive.

Operated by the Worthington Craft Guild, the store is owned by local artisans who sell their wares. All of their items are handmade and I can tell you they are beautiful quality items that are perfect for gifts or decorating your own home. There were so many items I wanted to buy but i got the following: 1) A Christmas Spider. I got a beautiful ornamental spider to hang up next Christmas on one of my trees. I certainly learned something new as a Christmas Spider is based of a Eastern European folktale which explains one possible origin of tinsel on Christmas trees. According to wikipedia, "A poor but hardworking widow once lived in a small hut with her children. One summer day, a pine cone fell on the earthen floor of the hut and took root. The widow's children cared for the tree, excited at the prospect of having a Christmas tree by winter. The tree grew, but when Christmas Eve arrived, they could not afford to decorate it. The children sadly went to bed and fell asleep. Early the next morning, they woke up and saw the tree covered with cobwebs. When they opened the windows, the first rays of sunlight touched the webs and turned them into gold and silver. The widow and her children were overjoyed. From then on, they never lived in poverty again." I think it will be a nice touch to my Christmas decor. 2) A small hanging cat ornament and a small hanging dog ornament. Bought one for my mom (cat) and one for bestie (dog). Its just a cute handmade decoration. 3) Dragonfly necklace. My bestie is amazing and she was especially amazing to me and my family last couple of years especially when my mom had cancer. Mom bought her a beautiful handmade dragonfly necklace to give to her as a gift. She loved it! This is a wonderful little place in Worthington, OH and i recommend anyone in the area to support these wonderful local artists! If you are looking for unique gifts or decor come here! This place has total pizazz!

I highly recommend you visit and pick up a game you've never played, like Gloom which is a storytelling card game, or Concept which is a secret word game where you have a limited number of symbols to get people to guess, or better yet Mysterium which is sort of like Clue only there is a ghost giving you hints!

I feel like it really caters to the romantasy crowd, which I read now and again but they carry other mainstream fantasy like Brandon Sanderson and some other lit fic authors as well. I specifically mentioned Brandon Sanderson because I picked up a copy of one of his novels while I was there. I need to double check and see if they are doing any book clubs or social events because I would be interested in participating. I took 1 star off because I'd love to see more genres in the store but it's cute and cozy and I will absolutely be back.

That day the owner, Andrea, had given out succulents to each customer and it was such a gracious idea plus got me back into trying out the house plant thing (proud to say I have now successfully kept a plant alive in my home lol)!
