So when our initial plan fell through last night (closed on Thursdays), we decided to go find it again not knowing the actual restaurant name. While we still want to try the other place, we were VERY happy to have found this spot. They have a very fancy drink menu. But we came for the burger which we all 3 got. Incredibly delicious! The quality of the beef used was top notch. Cooked to medium, it was juicy and so flavorful. They used good quality buns that could stand up to the juiciness. Very filling. I didn't take a picture because 1. It's a burger and 2. I rarely post reviews and didn't think to pull out my phone. The staff and owner were so friendly and accommodating. Revel Cafe and Bar will be a nice local place to bring our craft cocktail-loving visitors. Thank you, Revel for such a pleasant and delicious dining experience on a random Thursday night!

It's simple, fresh, and perfectly done. I also tried a flight of beers and loved every single one. Primo Morso and 'Nacular Misbelief really stood out and were both incredibly flavorful in their own ways. The bartender made the experience even better. He was funny, interesting to talk to, and clearly knew his stuff when it came to beer. His enthusiasm and knowledge added so much to the overall vibe. Great food, excellent beer, and genuinely great service. I'll absolutely be back.

Well, plot twist -- when we got there, the super sweet bartender Jenny broke the news that they had just changed the hours and were no longer open on Thursdays. (Check out my photo for the latest hours as of March 2025 -- you're welcome.) Here's the kicker -- we had already schlepped all the way from the French Quarter on foot and were sitting at around 13,000 steps for the day. We earned that burger! But, when life gives you closed burger joints, you pivot to cocktails -- and Jenny had us covered. Hubbs went for a Bloody Mary (solid choice), and I opted for a vodka soda... okay, maybe three vodka sodas -- but who's counting? The place itself? Total dive bar perfection. A couple of colorful locals popped in for a quick drink, the vibe was laid-back, and the drinks were strong enough to make you forget about the burger heartbreak (at least temporarily). Jenny was a gem -- attentive, funny, and quick with a refill. We were still mourning the loss of those smash burgers when someone at the bar confirmed, "Oh yeah, they are that good." Fantastic. Thanks for that.
