As it turns out, while there are pre-drilled indentions on the front bumper, most Ranger owners (maybe all trucks) prefer a non-invasive work around. My main…read moreissue is that during the purchase I was lied to about the lifetime warranty and being allowed to do my own maintenance. Both the salesman and the finance person told me I could do my own oil changes as long as I called the warranty company first, gave them my mileage, and kept all receipts. I was told that if I didn't do this then they would reject any claims. I read through all of the warranty information over the weekend and there is a sentence that states self-performing maintenance does not meet the requirements. I went back to the dealer the following week to discuss this with them and see if at a minimum I could receive discounted oil changes if I brought it back to them. The salesman denied saying I could do my own oil changes and the finance guy admitted to saying it and said it was a mistake. I asked if he could discount the oil changes and he said he would need to speak to the owner. The finance guy came back and said that I could use someone that can do the oil changes for less. I asked if the owner was unwilling to work through the problem and he said there was nothing he can do. I clarified that there was nothing he wanted to do because the sale was complete. So, I asked if it was customary for them to use misleading statements and lies to make the sale and then move on and I was told that was not the type of dealer they are, however it clearly is. I'm also a member of the Farm Bureau and as a member we receive a $500.00 discount on certain vehicles when purchased new. They refused to accept the certificate because they told Ford they sold the vehicle the prior month to receive the incentives and that was why they could offer it at the current price. I spoke with the Farm Bureau and they said once the vehicle is listed as sold, they could issue the rebate and discuss it with the dealer or Ford. Farm Bureau members be careful when considering this dealership. In the end it is ultimately up to the buyer to review all documents and fine print so that is on me, I just wanted to let others know of my experience with them and that I will make future purchases somewhere else.

My husband delivers pizzas for a living, and this felt discriminatory and insulting. I've never heard of a seller attempting to dictate how a buyer can legally use a vehicle after purchase. The comment raised major red flags and made us feel like our business wasn't welcome because of my husband's occupation. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, be prepared to ask questions and get any unusual conditions in writing. We chose not to move forward and will spend our money elsewhere.

Most notably, though, when we just traded it in (underwater on it, still), we discovered that the car had been in TWO accidents before we bought it, both with "moderate to severe damage." When we bought it, we were told there had been one fender-bender. Now, we did love that car, but in the end, it cost us much more than it should have (price, warranty, repairs, poor trade-in value).

My situation started when I got a terrible scratch when I cut a tight corner in my garage. Frankly I don't understand how people get building permits to make parking garages in Champaign. Anyway, mainly because I didn't need my parents finding out about my little accident I decided to pay out of pocket for the damages. I first went to Tatman's to get a quote, seeing as I've heard good things about their service and I see their ads everywhere. I nearly dropped to my knees when I heard the price they told me for my scratch over my wheel, slightly onto my door and a few minor scratches on the bumper. "At least two thousand dollars..." They had explained that the amount of work they'd have to put into it (10 hours) would be the bulk of the cost. I decided to head down the street to M&M. I spoke with Alex who quickly came out to my car and accessed the damage. He told me very similar things to Tatman's so I believed his assessment. The best part was that he told me it would cost about $1000 and he broke it down piece by piece of what needed to be done. Originally the used the wrong paint, but realized the mistake and told me they would correct it at no cost to me. Although it took a little more time than originally quoted, they took care of some additional scratches on the car and the car looks as good as new. They are extremely helpful and I would highly recommend their services to anyone.
