SHEWORKS is not refunding me money for the work that they completed and I was forced to have redone by another electrician. The missed on a fundamental element...they never connected the items to household power. SHEWORKS efforts were surprisingly unsightly and nonfunctional for their bills of over $1400. Yet there is credible evidence that their team failed to connect the wires to the switch.  That is basic electrical engineering. That evidence is two contractors who tried to turn on the fans and were in able to. Also, the referal source came to my home and witnessed their work. She was a former APS Palo Verde Power Plant Vendor manager for Pinnacle West and is very familiar with electrical functions. The simple switches to two lights and two fans did not function, simply because they had never been wired to any switch. A switch was already installed and waiting prior to the SHEWORKS visit where they provided "installation of the fans", so this installation should have been simple to complete correctly. I am and have been asking for my money back from this company as I had to hire it REdone.  The contractor data from those who corrected the condition is attached below my complaint narrative. The work was staged but not completed.  Despite having both the lights for installation in the living room and the equipment for under the cabinets all staged. I didn't want to have to delay their team a minute. Their two electricians showed up an hour after the first guy and stood around for 40 min prior to go time.  This concerned me, but realizing Elizabeth was pregnant and would not be supervising, I had hoped the team would charge appropriately. I was at the worksite all day as I had other contractors working other projects and thought I could cover noon lunches at my office that start at 11:30. I now realize their team charged me for a full day despite their starting at 11:30. SHEWORKS claimed they were unable to test the fans.  Each fan was packed in individual boxes, packaged with their own batteries and instructions.  The unpacking of the boxes was incomplete and the SHEWORKS team subsequently sent me on an unnecessary and expensive trip to the store for a set of batteries to complete the installation. Yet all the parts, including batteries, were later found in the packing materials left behind and the real reason the fans couldn't be tested was because ultimately they had no power source due to the incomplete wiring job. The electricians I hired from SHEWORKS were to have wired the fans to turn on lights and fan activation. None of that worked and they did not verify such before leaving the site. I am disappointed in the UGLY fan installation, (the team lead stated that they knew it looked "ugly" with a 2 and a half inch switch box holding the fan below the dining ceiling veranda. The boxes were later found out to be unnecessary by the subsequent electrician) without stopping to notify me and conducting a 2nd installment without bring it to my attention. They knowingly did it TWICE! The labor bill (no fixtures) is a surprise at over $1400 for the 3 fan installs, (not even done right) one small conduit and a closet light. Is surely the top of the market?     To quote Matt Horne of, MTH Designs, the Contractor who ultimately corrected the condition left undone by SHEWORKS regarding his electrician's observation on the fans: "All he did was remove the extensions where the fan meets the ceiling piece as they were not needed and also wire at the switch. The pergola installer left a line run from fan location to switch location but that doesn't include any connecting it. The person you had (SHEWORKS) there installed the fans with with unneeded extensions and they did not wire the switch." read more

Elizabeth is very personable and seems to be very knowledgeable on many aspects of remolding and construction. We were ready to recommend them to everyone we know, especially based on some of the other reviews here that talk of how responsive, quick, and competitive they were. Unfortunately we did not end up using Elizabeth for our project not because of the price which was good but because we had such a difficult time getting them to return our phone calls or emails in a timely manner. This eroded our confidence in them being able to provide the services we required of them to perform in a timely manner. Elizabeth is very personable and seems to be very knowledgeable on many aspects of remolding and construction and we were very upset that we had to decide against them, but in the long run it is the customer's needs that must be met and SheWorks seemed unwilling to take the time to meet them. Repeat performance has not disappointed. Trustworthy staff. I requested masks and shoe covers which were an non-issue for Elizabeth. There were three lighting projects. An old tube florescent lighting fixture, a cheap ceiling closet lighting fixture and a dated dining room fixture replaced. I appreciated always being consulted during the process to insure that I was a satisfied client. Elizabeth also recommended proper bulbs for each lighting fixture to maximize lighting yet to save energy. I paid a little extra to have a tangle of wires from our electronic equipment in the entertainment center hidden. I hope my review will steer you away from pursuing business with Handy Connection. We initially reached out to Elizabeth Evans based on many of the reviews seen below, but our family has had a significantly different experience that we wanted to share. Elizabeth came out to our home for an estimate for some electrical work. She explained to us that she typically prices out the work two ways, one with an hourly rate and another with a per item cost. Her ploy is to list two prices, but you will end up paying the higher price anyway. They grossly overestimate their ability to perform the work they agreed upon. While a single fan and switch was added to my project, the initial timeframe to complete the work went from 4 hours to 5 separate visits to home. This is due to multiple damages that were created while attempting to complete the project. Between visits she left us with holes in our home both inside and out. Even more concerning is that I had to plead with her to come back between visits to finish the job, but she was reluctant per her own accord based on late-night drinking. We payed for 2 skilled electricians to perform the work, but Elizabeth Evans showed up with her office secretary who per own admission it was her first time on a job site. Her attempt to repair the damages that were created were incredibly poor. I had enough of her "craftsmanship" and did not wish for her to perform any additional work on our home. Wanted to love this service as the reviews had been so good, but I had definite problems with the cost and response to my concerns. Originally quoted $272 for the repair of two items with the approximate time of 2 hours to complete. Only one item was able to be completed: the installation of a GFCI outlet. Electrician was there for a maximum of 40 minutes. My adjusted bill was $206, which I felt was exorbitant. Tried working with Elizabeth to adjust the bill and there was NO compromise, even after I called 6 electricians and got quotes between $125-$150. I will not be using this company again. read more

Elizabeth was great! She installed 2 ceiling fans for me, one in a room that already had the wiring and another with none, so she had to go up on the attic and check everything out. I called someone else for a quote and wanted to charge me double and didn't even come to my house to look, while Elizabeth took her time and effort to come and look and make sure you're getting what you want. While she was working, she would ask what I wanted and if everything was ok. She even looked at my recessed lighting, with no charge because one of the cans weren't in and wanted to know what was wrong with it. We purchased a new washer and dryer and when they were delivered we could not get the dryer to turn on. The delivery guy was confident it was the plug and it just needed to be replaced.
