This was my first time renting a tuxedo here. I took my daughter's boyfriend here to get a tuxedo…read morefor Junior Prom and was so impressed with the store, service, style and selection. I honestly had no idea just how extensive of a selection this store had and we were so pleasantly surprised. We came into the store about 45 minutes to closing on a Saturday and to say it was busy is an understatement! The store manager Adam saw us and let us know that he'd be with us in 5 minutes and he was so super busy that he apologized for having to "keep us waiting". We are not those people who huff and sigh over not being fawned over immediately- we told him to not stress and to take his time finishing up with the other customers. We recognized how busy they were and just used our time to explore tuxedo options. When Adam finally did return to us, we already had picked out what tuxedo and shoes we wanted and all he had to do was color match the tie, pocket square, measure and we were good to go! I am giving a major shout out to Adam- I had a special situational request that he took care of without hesitation and he was so awesome to work with. I look forward to bringing my son in shortly to get his tux for prom and we hope to work with Adam again! I am also going to note that this place has incredible suits and men's apparel and everything can be altered. My husband buys all his suits and dress shirts and ties from Brooks Brothers and I told him to not sleep on GT Ghamo- he agreed to go and get his next suit here and I cannot wait to see what he gets! Love this place!!!

The store is larger than the one we customarily visit in Simsbury, so I didn't feel cramped walking around alongside a fair number of fellow shoppers. It's very neat and well organized inside and seemed to have a lot of merchandise. I saw the usual dishes, housewares, women's and men's shoes (including some gorgeous Air Jordans), shirts, blouses, outerwear, pants and jeans, plus sportscoats and men's suits ($25 or so). Some of the more unusual things I saw was an impressive collection of "I Love Lucy" memorabilia, and hiding among the audio CD's was a William Hung CD! He made quite a splash on American Idol 20 years ago, and if you're too young to know who he is, go check him out on YouTube. I bought a long sleeve white dress shirt, a red tie, and my wife bought a long sleeve top. After the 35% discount we paid an obscene $16 for everything. Yes, quite the bargain indeed. PRO TIP Parking is a bit of a toss-up, their lot is micro-sized, so you'll probably end up parking on a side street like we did.

Located in West Hartford Center next Cuzzi's, this small shop packs in some big names. They sell…read moremen's and women's clothing, a much larger portion is dedicated to women's clothing. I wouldn't really know about that segment but they carry some of the latest "trendy" brand names as well as some of the high quality names in fashion for both men and women. It's the only place in the Hartford area that I know of that sell AG, Ernest Sewn, Nudie, ect.... The down side to this place is their small store, they have one in Madison, CT too, but I've never been, but apparently it is twice the size. The small store limits the selection but I still always make a point to stop in and check out what they have. Unfortunately they are getting rid of some of their more trendy brands for men due to lack of sales. They have denim with quality brands( more than any other place in Hartford that I know of) but they still do not and don't plan on selling selvedge (sometimes spelled selvage) denim which is a bit upsetting to some of us denim nerds. They cater more too late 20's to mid 30's due to the demographic of the area and some of the more hipster clothing is on its way out. Also, watch out for their prices, this is no thrift store, they carry brand name items which while sometimes better quality they are on the expensive end of the spectrum. This said, they still carry some quality brands and I make a point to stop in there every now and then.

You can have fries, sushi, mini chicken wings, ceviche, fried Oreos, and whatever else you are in the mood for. The sky is the limit here. Some things can be costly some are steals. It is also a great place to watch sports when there is a big game on because there is that shared energy from everyone in the space. I also appreciate that there are many gluten-free options, clean restrooms, and fun drinks. Overall, Parkville Market is one of those easy, reliable places where everyone can find something they want.

There was a lovely, colorful outdoor area with seating, pretty murals, and lights strung up above. The interior was spacious, well organized, with a festive atmosphere, full of world flags for the World Cup. There were 2 floors and the lower level boasted local restaurants of all different types of cuisines, drink, and dessert spots. The upstairs area had multiple private dining rooms for large groups, which is first come, first serve. I first went around the whole market to finally choose Colombian, however there was no one at the register, so I went next door to the Brazilian kiosk. I ordered the Surf and Turf, which consisted of steak, grilled shrimp, pineapple salsa, and sweet plantains. After I ordered my meal, I noticed that the Colombian place was open. The Brazilian food was delicious though! Both the Steak and Shrimp had perfect grill marks. Steak was cooked well, but could have been more tender. Shrimp was succulent and well seasoned. The fried Sweet Plantains were so tasty! They were wonderfully soft and irresistibly caramelized. For my drink, I got Horchata, which was a lovely balance of rice milk and cinnamon, with just the right amount of sweetness. A couple days later, I stopped by again after my Living History tour at Mark Twain House and Museum. I finally was able to try the Bandeja Paisa from the Colombian spot. It was pretty good, but didn't fully meet my expectations. The meal included Fried Pork, Chorizo, Steak, Corn Cake, Fried Egg, Maduros, Rice and Beans, as well as Avocado. Since I prefer savory plantains, I requested either Plantain Chips or Tostones. The person at the counter indicated that would be fine, but still got Maduros. My favorite parts of the dish were Fried Pork, Chorizo, and Corn Cake. The Fried Pork was satisfyingly crispy, including the skin. Chorizo was juicy and boldly flavorful. Corn Cake was made expertly and had the perfect consistency. I also got Ube and Taro Bubble Tea, which was delightful! It tasted coconutty and was a nice blend of the delicate flavors. The Boba was tiny sized, and had a wonderful chewiness to it. Service was solid. Everyone seemed to be friendly and accommodating. Prices were reasonable. The venue only takes credit card, but I think there's a way to exchange cash. There were many other menu offerings that looked appetizing from Mediterranean, Thai, Peruvian, Hawaiian, BBQ, and more.
