I had a wonderful experience at Bridal Bells! I went to David's bridal last week and was very discouraged. It was so many people pushing around, nobody paying attention to you ,trying to find a mirror . That was not how I imagined. I wasn't sure I was going to find a dress however I made an appointment at bridal bells for the following weekend. It is a small boutique with one person shopping at a time and all the attention is on you. We discussed what I was looking for and she provided all the options she had in the store. In the dressing room I got to stand on a small stage with all the mirrors on me. She was helpful and answer all my questions as well as made me feel beautiful and special. I would recommend going to bridal bells to shop for your wedding dress e specially if you are plus size . She had a lot of options . Thank you ! read more

My daughter is getting married. She needed a plus size dress so I called around a bit ahead of time. I wanted her to have a fun experience. Barbara was the only one I spoke to that was understanding. She assured me there was plenty to see and try on and there was!! We started out with her picks and loved them all! The hardest part was deciding which one to choose. Her prices couldn't be beat. I got a dress too!! read more

I can not thank you enough for bringing me Morilee Desiree #2403, this dress was amazing for my wedding. I picked the dress out in Dec2021 and I was told it would arrive by May... well it arrived in February. In May I had my 1st official fitting. In August I had my second one and then I picked up my dress one week before my September 2022 wedding. It fit perfectly! Thank you ladies!!! read more

Owner was not patient with the bride. Too pushy, trying to make a quick sale without consideration about the customer.

I called Barbara up on a Wednesday at 10:00 in the morning and she scheduled me for 1:00 appointment at her bridal salon on my lunch hour. She quickly measured me and pulled several dresses in my price point category. She had an amazing selection! She even took pictures of me for my family and was extremely accommodating! She was willing to alter the dress and have it for me within one week's time as I was leaving for my destination wedding at that time. She's funny, efficient, and kind!! I recommend anyone give this salon a try! read more

I saw a dress on the website I loved. I called the shop and discussed the dress with the owner Barbara. she was extremely friendly. I made an apt for a few weeks later. The shop is not big, but she has a lot of options to try. I tried on the dress I saw and about 12 other ones. They were all beautiful! I didn't end up picking the dress I went to see, because she brought me a dress that was newer and had a little more of a wow factor for me. The price points were not crazy, deffinalty worth the money for the quality and details. I can not wait for my dress to come in! thank you Bridal Bells and Barbara!! read more

Bridal Bells Boutique - After saying yes to the dress! - Bridal Near Me - Berlin, Connecticut

Eww... This place smelled like a consignment shop, but it was not a consignment shop. Actually, most consignment/thrift shops, including Goodwill and Savers, smelled nicer than this place. It just smelled so OLDE! I stopped by on a whim to look at possible bridesmaids gowns last month. I wanted to see if I could find dresses at a local place before heading to David's Bridal, but unfortunately, the dresses looked like they were from 1992, in a bad way, and were very hideous. There were a couple of reasonably-priced wedding gowns, but the others dresses were overpriced. The lady did greet me and told me about the selection. She was nice though I had a hard time understanding her. She asked if I bought my dress. When I answered that I had already bought my dress, I had a feeling that she did not want to work with me. There, I did not want to patronize this hole. read more

I loved my wedding dress I bought at Bridal Bells Boutique. Everything there was great from the time I walked in from the time I took my dress home. The alterations done were amazing, well done, and timely. Everyone was friendly and professional. I would definitely go back if I am in need of a dress for a function in the future. read more

Once the sale is made they don't care about you we wanted to purchase a different dress and the owner was rude, not open to helping or discussing anything further, sale is done. read more

My sister recently purchased her wedding gown here. We had such a pleasant experience. Barbara took her time and pulled tons of dresses for my sister to try on (not limiting like some other stores) she was very patient, honest, helpful, and easy to work with. My sister was able to try on a bunch of different dresses that all looked fantastic it was such a hard decision but all of the dresses were affordable and very well priced. We could not have been happier with our experience! read more

A friend suggested I came to Bridal Belles to get my bridesmaids dresses. We found some that we liked and ordered, I even paid to rush order them as time was tight. The lady measured the girls and added so many extra inches to their size, once we received the dresses they were HUGE. She did not even measure the height of the girls to order the appropriate length of dress. I found this business to be VERY DISHONEST! Clearly she was hoping for us to use her tailor services also. I definitely will not return nor recommend anyone I know to go. Very disappointing. read more

We went to Bridal Bells based on a friend's recommendation to get a mother of the bride dress for me. I explained what I was looking for and my needs (e.g. something that covered my shoulders b/c I get cold and a dress that was flattering b/c I have a boyish figure). The owner went to the rack and the first dress she pulled out was the one. They ordered extra material to make a wrap for me and added shoulder straps. They were very accommodating for our schedule because my daughter also had her wedding altered by them and she lives out of state. My daughter's dress required side panels added because she bought the dress pre-Covid and had gained weight. They had to match beading on the dress when letting it out. Everything came out beautiful and we got so many compliments ! I highly recommend their expertise and they are reasonably priced. read more

Barbara was great! It was such an amazing experience! I am excited to say I rung the bell and said yes to the dress! We found it in under an hour after trying on a few. She was very attentive and shared many different options to customize the dress if I wanted to. She worked well with my budget and gave me a discount of about $300 to make the dress affordable! Thank you Bridal Bells Boutique! We will see you soon for the veil and accessories! read more

Had a wonderful experience at this charming boutique! The owner was extremely helpful, and did everything she could to help me find the perfect dress for my big day. I would highly recommend this place for a personal experience, went to other bridal chains and found they only cared about the sale. Definitely would recommend checking this place out to find your dream dress! read more

I tried on a dress at another shop and it was way too expensive. Bridal bells carried the designer and had the dress way cheaper. Bridal bells also have a good selection of plus size dresses. I'm excited for my dress to arrive. read more

Brenda knows what she is doing, and you will not be disappointed! I walked in without having looked at wedding dresses yet, showed her a few pictures of what I was envisioning along with my budget, and she brought out a number of dresses that were all exactly what I was looking for. She is honest about what it will cost for what you are envisioning, and how much alterations will be and so on. She clearly has been doing this for a long time, and I found and purchased my DREAM wedding gown within the hour! I highly recommend you look here before looking anywhere else! A large selection at a variety of prices, many very affordable. read more

Blech...previous poster is on point....it smells funny, like dirty old clothes. The owner (?) is brusque and all-business, and leaves you feeling colder than the already chilly temperature in the shop. The only way I would go here is if you're on an extremely, extremely tight budget and are willing to forego all niceties like being treated nicely, having a warm room, etc because I see in one review a wedding gown cost $300 (!) But still...surely the gown would smell funny! read more

I can't believe the owner let me take this dress home like this without saying a single word about what looks like a butt crack at the top of my dress. 1 week before my wedding! Imagine my horror when I got it home and had my granddaughter take this picture after trying it on - thank God - before my ceremony. How embarrassing would this have been to walk down the aisle looking like that! Fortunately I was able to find a top notch seamstress who was able to fix it in 3 days! This shop may have some decent prices but I would suggest taking it elsewhere to have alterations done. And, another member of our wedding party bought her dress here and she had it altered by them and it ripped in 3 places the day of the wedding! I don't typically write reviews but I felt it necessary in this case. Everyone told me I need to so this doesn't happen to someone else who expects to look their best on their special day - no matter what the occasion. read more

Bridal Bells Boutique - Back crack at the top of my dress. - Bridal Near Me - Berlin, Connecticut

I went there to set up and appointment to get a dress for my sons wedding. I have been there before and bought a dress for my daughters wedding. There were not many choices then and not many now. I was able to look at dresses and I did not see anything I liked but 1. I tried it on. It was a size 10 and was big but the person said I had to loose 20 lbs to fit in the 8. I am 5'4" and weigh 129 lbs. 20 lbs was ridiculous. Dress was almost $575 without alterations. I left there feeling like I was a blimp. Turns out that the place I ordered dress from had the same designer and the dress I ended up picking was a size 8. I will not give a lower score because two family members have bought wedding dresses there and they were lovely. Also seamtress is great. read more

AMAZING SHOP. I was concerned about the cost of a dress, so I tried to cut corners and go to one of those large chain stores -- you all know the one I'm talking about. I got talked into buying a dress that I later realized I hated. They may have cheap dresses, but it was overwhelming and unhelpful. I could not have had a better experience at Bridal Bells. My mom works in Berlin and heard about this place and heard from a coworker that it was the "best kept secret in Berlin". Barbara is wonderful, she fit my appointment in the same day I called and helped me find dresses that would within my budget. When I was trying on dresses she was helpful without being pushy and very supportive. Her seamstress was there as well, helping with my appointment, and able to offer options for alterations when needed. I had it narrowed down to two choices when I left the shop. Barbara let me and my mother come back and re-try on the dresses. When I finally made my decision, Barbara just let me stand in front of the mirror, enjoying the dress. I love that she let me enjoy my moment, and really feel comfortable with the dress and my decision. It was a wonderful experience and a thousand times better than going to the big chain store. I would recommend Bridal Bells to anyone shopping for a bridal, prom, bridesmaid or special occasion dress. read more

I had such a great experience in this shop. Barbara was very sweet and patient with me. They have some very beautiful dresses in this shop. Prices were $300 on up. I fell in love with a dress I couldn't afford in here so I didn't make a purchase but I was very glad I came to this shop. read more

Just wanted to update this. Barbara has been so accommodating, especially with making short notice appointments so I can take my bridesmaid and family to see the dress. I got my wedding dress and had the alterations done at Bridal Bells and the whole experience was fantastic! This shop was the last stop on a hectic day of wedding dress shopping and the owner was so accommodating despite us not having an appointment. She helped us looked through the racks for a dress that would work for me, and even dresses that could be altered to what I wanted. The prices for the dresses are very reasonable. The alterations on the dress were done beautifully. I got so many compliments on my wedding day about my gorgeous dress. read more

I had an excellent experience at this shop... Barbara was wonderful and her expert advice and experience won the day and I found the perfect dress for my October wedding.... then my sister and niece (MOH and bridesmaid) both found the perfect dresses to order in my color! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who is seeking a fantastic selection of dresses in all sizes AND wants a better experience than one can have in that national chain. Treat yourself well and go for the best... as my niece says, you only live once. read more

I just got married this past Friday - I purchased my dress, had my alterations completed, and had all of my bridesmaids purchase their dresses at Bridal Bells. Everything was reasonably priced and the staff was great to work with. They were very knowledgeable and helpful during the whole process. I apologize for not being able to remember her name, but the seamstress here was awesome! She presented a few different options for how to alter my dress and add different accents, and executed everything perfectly. If you are looking for a reasonable place to purchase your wedding gown and/or bridesmaid dresses, I highly recommend Bridal Bells. read more

I found Bridal Belles online and went there because of other positive reviews. it is a small shop in a strip mall setting but i HIGHLY RECOMMEND...do not judge by there outside appearance / location. they are reasonable and did an AMAZING job with my dress. i got several compliments from others when at my fitting. I was very satisfied. the price was VERY affordable for what they did! read more

Wonderful experience! The shop is small but the selection is quite extensive. I told the shop owner (Barbara) what I was looking for and she selected about 10 dresses for me to try on. All of them were gorgeous and I ended up finding THE ONE. Plus, when I wanted to add some additional designs, she was more than happy to accommodate my wishes. Absolutely wonderful experience and I recommend this shop to anyone! The prices were very reasonable as well. Looking forward to future business here!~ read more

I am so thankful for these wonderful ladies. I had a horrible experience getting my wedding dress altered at Alfred Angelo. When I called them, they told me to come the next day and they would fix it. They found mistakes I didn't even know happened! They were honest with how much they would charge, and always told me what I would have to pay. They re-did my bustle and made it absolutely beautiful. I would recommend getting alterations done by them to anyone. They did a fabulous job and saved my wedding dress! read more

I purchased a dress here. The owner set an appointment with me so I could bring my friends to help me pick between my top three. We waited in the parking lot 45 minutes. I had to call her and remind her we had an appointment before she came. I went with a pricier gown, about $600, than I planned going for. I picked this dress over some more affordable $200-$400 options because it was last season last one and marked down and was more elaborate in detail. However, I was shocked by the additional $300 for really rather minor work taking in the bust area and a pressing ( did not request a pressing as the dress was traveling and I had to do it again! ). The dress was too short to hem (part of the clearance price I'm sure) and no boning was taken out. I was too dumbfounded at the time to say anything but it really spoiled the entire experience. If the price seems fair learn from my mistakes and ask for the cost of EVERYTHING before putting down a depost. Once you put down a deposit the shop basically has the dress hostage. A lot of brides are on tight budgets and some of us do not like being taken advantage of. read more

I went into bridal bells after having a pretty disappointing appointment at another high end gown shop. Barbara was great in putting me in every possible dress to get the vision I had. She was friendly, knew her stuff, and stayed late to accommodate my appointment. Her prices are extremely affordable and I ended up with a gorgeous gown that was completely the opposite of what I thought I wanted. She was great from start to finish and I can't wait to wear my dress for my wedding next year. I've highly recommend this place and have already told two other brides to go there to find their gowns. So so happy I went here!! read more

place is amazing. barbra has tons of gowns in larger sizes 20-30 to try on not like some other places in the area that say they have plus but only a few to try on. i was able to try on over 13 gowns and fell in love with one that i will be purchasing. barbra is not pushy at all she knows what looks good on your body. she has gowns in all kinds of styles and sizes she even carrys regular sizes as well. viels. shoes accessories mob bridesmade. my experience here was amazing. she carrys venus and morilee and a few other designers. this was the one bridal place where i was able to fit into every gown i tried on... if you are a plus size bride go to bridal bells first dont waste your time anyplace else you will regret it read more

I came to Bridal Belles because I had already gone to four different boutiques looking for a wedding dress and tried on 25+ dresses. I found a dress online and after calling a few boutiques that said they carried the dress, but didn't, the owner said she would get it for me because the dress was in stock. I paid $100 which would either be a restocking fee or a deposit towards my dress. The owner opened the shop for me to travel over an hour on a Sunday to try the dress on. The shop was chilly and not as nice as some of the other boutiques I went to, but she was the only one that offered to get me this dress. Needless to say, I bought the dress and I'm very happy with my choice. read more

I had such a good experience here! It was the second shop I went to try on dresses at and it was such an easy process from start to end. I got measured and told Barbara what styles and price range I was looking for and she pulled a bunch of dresses for me to try on and she listened to exactly what I said in reference to what I did and what I did not want. She was very helpful and insightful. After picking my dress making appointments and payments over the phone was a super easy process when it came time to start my fittings it was such a breeze. The seamstress made the dress fit perfectly in every way. It is a small shop but I think that's what drew me to it more so than a big chain store. I would recommend this shop for anyone looking to dresses, they also have bridesmaid dresses too for anyone looking! read more

My daughter was looking to shop for her wedding gown. She made an appointment for a Sunday, the only day myself and my husband could shop with her, due to owning our own business. (Most bridal stores don't have Sunday hours and/or you have to pay a fee to shop on Sunday). There was no charge for a Sunday appointment and Barbara was waiting for us, ready to do anything to please the bride-to-be, and boy did she! She brought out beautiful gowns for our daughter to try on and stayed in her price range. The third dress my daughter tried on was almost perfect, and Barbara listened to my daughter and knew how to make a few adjustments to the dress to make it perfect! She's like a bridal store ninja!! I plan on going back myself for my Mother-of-the Bride dress. A wonderful shopping experience! read more

I have been looking for a wedding dress for a second wedding, nothing fancy. I walked into Bridal Bells just to see what they had. I was greeted at the door immediately with a very friendly smile. After showing a picture of what I was looking for, there were dresses waiting for me in the dressing room that were either my size or bigger to try on (which was nice so I could actually see what they looked like on). Barbara also brought a dress which was not a traditional "wedding" dress in a darker color that she thought would work. After trying it on and liking it, she brought the dress in ivory to show me what it would look like. Within 30 minutes, I had my dress ordered. I had been to another high end shop and really did not find anything "plain" enough for me but the dresses there were 3 times (at least) the cost. I would definitely recommend looking here for wedding gowns, bridesmaid, mother of bride, etc. The selection was great and Barbara was VERY friendly, helpful, and knew what she was doing!!!! read more
