This restaurant is wonderful! The best dinner we had while in Ireland the last 8 days. A local…read morebartender recommended we try it here. The sauces on our two dinners were just divine - so flavorful! We started with the best seafood chowder we have ever had. Lots of fish & shrimp. My hubby had the chicken breast with leek & bacon fondue sauce & mashers. I had a special of pan fried hake - such a lovely white fish! Cooked to perfection with 3 shrimp & mashers too. A large bowl of vegees on the side included too but not pictured. For dessert we had the apple tart. Served wonderfully warm with a flakey crust with vanilla ice cream & whip cream (as is the custom). We loved every bite of our dinners - so when in Ennis please try Henry's Bistro!

I started off with a solid pint of Murphys stout. We were served excellent home made bread and butter to start. The dark bread was particularly yummy. The goat cheese salad was well received. I started with an excellent seafood chowder. The fish was particularly tasty. It was really filling. We sampled the menu- the cod, feather steak and chicken were all excellent. They weee served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. We had high hopes but were too full for dessert. The prices were really reasonable. Great evening, would happily go back.

Have passed this place a few times when out and about in Ennis. Love these kind of places in…read moregeneral that deal in speciality food and drink so to have one in Ennis had to be a good thing!! Although not the biggest of its kind that I've been in, I still think the selection was fantastic. Herself picked up some ground caramel infused coffee which we have since had to great approval. I bought a jar of banana relish which I've yet to venture to try with cheese!! I love the idea of it though haha I had the fish pie which was really lovely. The dish was absolutely scorching which would be the one minus I'd give it. I mean magma hot. But overall, fantastic.

You can custom order your sandwich, soup and chowder of the day are always tasty, and they offer both a ham and vegetarian quiche. In fact, if you have a vegetarian in your party, this in an ideal spot to bring them. Your sandwich or quiche comes with gourmet side salads that are delicious. (When I say side salads, I mean the Irish version of salad.) We've stayed for tea but have not tried their desserts although they look delicious. Still, with Zest just around the corner, it's hard to want to try anywhere else for dessert. Waitstaff is kind and courteous and the time it takes for food to get to the table is quite fast. They've always served our kids first, which we appreciate, and when you ask for chicken in your sandwich, the chef literally gets out a fresh whole roasted chicken and slices off breast meat to make it! Very fresh, very pleased.

Such an amazing little gem in Limerick. While visiting the city, a friend and I were in the mood…read morefor a light dinner and wine, this restaurant made that possible and went above and beyond our expectations. The ambiance alone is worth the visit. The restaurant itself is below street level so eating outdoors in their outdoor seating area is like sitting in a romantic nook - candles galore, gorgeous twinkle lighting upon entry, a small fire place/woodstove(?), and tables & chairs that somehow felt so cozy. I can't say much for indoors because I only ventured in for the restrooms but it seems warm & cozy and on a colder night, a better place to dine. I will say however, based on the set up, unless I missed something, this location is not handicap accessible. Aside from the ambiance itself, the options were plentiful for boards and wine. Our host/server was so helpful and spoke to us about the daily cheese options and what kind of make up we'd like since only one of us eats meat. The board that was brought out was perfection. In addition to a delicious selection of cheeses, we ordered green olives and not just one order of garlic flatbread but two bc it was so tasty with the cheeses. I think I could eat the onion marmalade by the spoonful. The service, quality of food & wine, and ambiance made this restaurant a memorable night and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

We took a seat outside, under the stairs which was completely covered. Our cheeseboard was enjoyed with the candlelight ambiance. I couldn't stop looking around and smiling. I will say while service was nice, it was slow and we actually didn't get exactly what we ordered. There was only one person in the whole restaurant working. I believe he was taking orders and preparing them. The menu is very selective and doesn't offer alot of options. It is my recommendation to stop by for a glass of wine and cheese plate before dinner at another location. This place is gorgeous.
