I needed a key copied for my truck and Lowe's and Home Depot in Lexington were giving me a hassle,…read morewouldn't copy it, etc. The friendly folks at D&S Hardware did a great job copying the key, were super friendly in the way that businesses were decades ago but aren't anymore, and the cost of the key copying was so low that I wanted to leave a tip! I should move from Lexington to Winchester so I can live where stores offer this kind of value and service. The store is conveniently located on Main Street but seemed to have more stuff than the Lowe's superstore near me (where their inventory is a hopelessly disorganized mess). D&S Hardware is well stocked in the way hardware stores were before the big box retailers took over. I love D&S Hardware... not just the large variety of merchandise, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great value. I love the customer oriented attitude they convey and the entire experience of shopping there.

I am so disappointed in how I was treated at this store. My family has bought paint from them for…read moreyears. So, naturally when I needed paint for my whole house being built- I took my blueprints and headed to the store. I made sure to let them know that I needed help calculating what I needed. Jim and I spent two hours with the blueprints and I had him check the amounts twice because it sounded like a lot to me. He assured me it was correct. He sold me 5 gallons of primer and 21 gallons of paint for a 1300 square foot home. We ran out of primer halfway through and had to drive an hour back to get more. We have almost 8 whole gallons of paint leftover. We called twice asking if we could return some paint for store credit. He basically told my husband that I was a liar and didn't show him the blueprints and that I told him that I didn't plan to prime the whole space. I am meticulous about my decisions. I explained fully well my plans and trusted that an older gentleman could help me calculate seeing as he'd worked there for a while. We are out about $400 in paint we can now trash and absolutely do not appreciate this man trying to take advantage of a woman just to get more money and sell more paint. So very disappointed that a business would be ran this way.

Not sure what colors? They have in house consultations and in home consults available (limited availability). All the products you need, the advice you need, and all questions answered no matter how silly they sound out loud. And I have never once been made to feel it was an off base question. Perfect example of how customer service should be and how others should strive to replicate Value - tremendous considering the work and time saved when the correct products are used. Expert advice available for which product is best for your needs (I prefer the emerald line for interior)

The Sherwin-Williams paint selection is absolutely amazing! There are so many great color options and some many different levels of paint to choose from! Whole Wheat (SW 6121) Mega Greige (SW 7031) are two of our favorites! We have also used their paint to create a movie theater screen wall and it works perfectly for a screen projector! They often run sales where you can save 30 percent off!
