We visited Melissa in her store and in just a few minutes she was able to look at a picture of our new kitchen island and make recommendations on what to order. She reviewed the pictures of the island, ceiling heights, knobs and fixture colors and clearly made the best suggestions on the lights to order. She even reviewed the different finishes the lights came in and perfectly match the metal color of the pendent light and size of the fixture that looked the best in our new kitchen. Her services provided in our selection process could not be achieved by just going on line and placing an order. We visited the store and must say it was an incredible experience working with Melissa. The ability to get help from Melissa, "Shop Local" and receive the lights in three days made for an incredible shopping experience at Be The Light Designs.

We needed some electrical items and a plunger and did not want to drive too far to the large box office store. We had errands to run in town and were driving right by, so we stopped in. Was able to quickly find what we needed without walking a mile in the store! The signage and groupings in the store made it very easy to find our items. Did want to browse some of the other areas but we ran out of time, but plan to return soon.

I only had a limited amount of time so I wanted to be sure they had it and called the store. I was put through to a clerk named Anthony. Anthony told me they did carry it and had it in stock. Since he answered without even checking stock, I was skeptical and asked him if "he was sure they had some". Anthony again told me they did have it in stock. I drove 35 minutes, I didn't have to spare, to their store. The first clerk didn't know what I was talking about. When I mentioned I confirmed with Anthony they had it in stock, he sent me to the back of the store to Anthony. As you can guess by now, they didn't have any. What's more, it didn't appear they never even carried it as there was no place where it had been . I was so angry. It was too late to get anywhere else thanks to their laziness and lack of customer service. I called the store a couple of days later and asked to speak to the owner but was told he isn't here. The clerk I spoke to implied, the owner is never there. I left my phone number and asked to have him call me. That was over a week ago...the apple doesn't fall from the tree, I guess. While overall, I have had positive experiences with Ace Hardware stores in the past, I won't be going back or recommending this one to anyone.

The next day, we got there during normal business hours, but since it was raining, they said they could not refill the tank until the rain stopped...so we waited...a bit later, when the rain stopped, we noticed our tank had disappeared.... Someone had taken it, refilled it and put it in the back with other tanks..... What a disorganized setup....Not impressed.....

It came wrapped in hard plastic that you need to cut with a knife or scissors to open. I believe the item was defective. I could get it to work to either turn the lights on or shut them off but not both. I went to the store, with my receipt, to return the item. At first, they stated they got it working and it was not defective. ( They actually got it to turn on an item which I also did). Then they said they could not accept the return because I did not have the original packaging and therefore they could not resell it. I asked how are they going to sell an item that is not working properly. They still refused to accept the return. I left the timer with them and walked out of the store. We will never return. Now I understand how Amazon is so successful.

We had 5 knives, so we dropped them off and within about 2 hours, we got a call saying our knives were ready for pick up. The one they could not do was my large Chinese meat cleaver, but otherwise all the other large knives were done right. Great job ! I was able to use my digital coupons and rewards towards this transaction.
