And all I have to do is tell a sales person what I need and they immediately find it for me. They offer many personalized services, such as replacing window screens, sharpening tools, etc., that larger stores do not. I'm hoping they maintain one special section of the old Brightwood store. It was this: whenever I needed a GOOD QUALITY screw or some unusual size, I could always find it. The problem with chain stores is that items like these are made of a lower quality metal and the heads tend to strip when turned too hard. I had a TERRIBLE experience…read more I hired Allied Flooring to renovate my bathroom following a flood. On the last day of the renovation (of which the estimated end date was continually pushed out day after day), they caused a pipe leak while removing the vanity. They put small pot under it and left for the entire day and night, causing it to flood the brand new bathroom, into my basement. The contractor installed the flooring over the SOAKED subfloor and didn't tell anyone until I showed up and saw it. They refused to hire emergency water mitigation, telling me they'd buy a fan at Home Depot. I called my insurance and got those services. After many emails and calls, the manager, Gary, would not give me the insurance information of the contractor. (Speaking of the contractor, a friend who was painting in the house heard the subcontractor bragging about how he only hires felons.) Anyway, I had to hire legal assistance to eventually get the owners attention to pay the insurance deductible for water mitigation. He claimed he never heard of the incident until I sent a legal letter demanding insurance information or payment. The day I contacted my insurance, the manager, Gary, went to see the damage. He was over an hour and a half late, and I had to leave before he got there. When I got back the next day, I saw they retaliated and had stolen tools given to me by my late father, and that they sawed my wall-mounted stainless steel paper towel holder in half and took the part they cut off. The house was empty aside from my tools, and "Danny" (the subcontractor) and Gary were the only people with access to the house. These people are dishonest thieves with no sense of personal or professional integrity. Stay far, far away.

Thinking of buying a cellular vinyl fence? Do not use Walpole!…read more They are very pricey so you assume it will be a quality fence..after all it comes with a with a 25 year warranty right? I paid nearly $35,000 (this did not include installation which they do not offer in my area) for a fence to surround my patio. Sherwin Williams helped me to match the color of my house which was country red. When the fence arrived the color was perfect, if only the paint wasn't peeling off the gates. There were also tiny bubbles filled with water across the top of each gate stretching horizontally from one side to the other. Something clearly went wrong during the manufacturing process. Even the pickets on the fences were not finished properly with missing paint on the bottom of each. A professional painter (for which Walpole paid his $250 estimate) did his best, exactly following their instructions on sanding, primer, etc., however it is easy for anyone to see the imperfections. Sanding, which was necessary for the paint to adhere, removed the design details on the gate. I sent countless emails with no result. When the installer first saw the fence, he said get new gates. When the painter saw them he said you should get some money back. Apparently their warranty does not pay for manufacturing painting mishaps. I don't know of another company that would refuse to stand by their product, especially at these price points. If I had known there was no quality control inspection I never would have chosen Walpole. Buyer beware, find an alternative.
