This month the shower faucet was leaking. $3.99 kit of washers combined with Mark telling me which ones to try first. In 30 minutes, the leaking was fixed. He has done this multiple times. I literally search the internet for how tos and Amazon for products to fix a problem, then look at Mark's site online to see what they have in stock and buy it Settergren's of Linden Hills instead. When I don't know I ask... and he doesn't charge me for the advice... Mark is also great with referring service providers. I have a beloved ~30-year-old Toro lawnmower that was taking 12+ pulls to start. I thought I was going to have to replace it for $500. Mark referred me to Glen Rud, a fantastic, honest, and reasonable small engine repair expert in located in Richfield. Glen fixed the problem and I had it back in 1.5 days. Upstairs, though, feels curiously drab by comparison: gray floors, gray seating, chandeliers with fake plastic candles, large fake trees that scream "mall atrium," and marble tables permanently covered in water stains. For a company that trades in curated aesthetics, the restaurant is joyless, even tacky. The menu doesn't redeem it. The cheapest glass of cabernet is $25 -- from a Robert Hall bottle you can buy at Total Wine for fifteen to twenty bucks. I wish I were joking. This glass of wine set the tone for pricing untethered from quality. The burger was passable but unremarkable, its patties overcooked and lacking much flavor. The $56 petite filet was the real tragedy: lukewarm upon arrival, burnt around the edges, rare-pushing-raw in the middle, completely flavorless, and shockingly dry. After two tentative bites, I had to set it aside. My dad tried a bite too, and agreed something was wrong with the meat. 30 minutes later, a stomach event proved us both right. The Béarnaise sauce, usually my ride-or-die, arrived broken, watery, and depressing. If this were your first taste of Béarnaise, you'd never order it again. The service was almost as bad as the food. When I told our server something seemed off with the steak, he silently took the plate, avoided eye contact, and walked away. As someone who has worked in a variety of restaurants, that short interaction that lacked any attempt of finding a resolution was the most shocking part of the night. RH built its reputation on staging perfection. Here, that illusion collapses under the weight of overpriced wine, flavorless food, and inattentive service. For a restaurant so heavily invested in appearances, it's astonishing how little care goes into the experience.

I was a little skeptical because I thought they had discontinued their fabric line a few years earlier. I was pleasantly surprised that the fabric selection is officially back! The only thing is that you no longer need to cut your own from a bolt; instead, they sell it in precut 3 meter length. The patterns and quality are just as awesome as they used to be, and it is really convenient if you're working on home textiles or quick craft projects. The only drawback to our visit was the timing. My only piece of advice is to ensure you do not arrive 30 minutes before the store closes. IKEA is simply too massive to navigate efficiently under a time crunch, and you will not have enough time to browse properly. Give yourself a solid window to shop!
