When they came to the door they said they had already closed everything down and sent me to Lowe's. Appreciate them telling me where I can go, and get that I was cutting it close, but also kinda weird small business practice to close early and send customer to Lowe's on a Saturday? Just be careful and give yourself PLENTY of time.

We have been looking for a toilet seat for my bathroom, since it was very old, all raggedy,…read morescratches here and there and broken. Twice, I almost fell in the toilet. Even though it's my landlord's job, when one doesn't comply, you take the matter into your own hands and take action. I had told my son to go to this Ace Hardware store and look for a nice, new, white toilet seat. So, he went yesterday around 5pm, and was helped by a very nice employee. He can't remember his name. Ace has always been our go-to hardware store. Too bad they close early. We have one in Studio City, but the prices and selection were not vast and were a bit pricy. It truly varies from one location to the next. They also have sale/discounted items every now and then. So with that being said, he bought a new toilet seat. Exactly what I had in mind. White, comfortable and new. Not too comfortable, or else I would fall asleep on it:-)) Not joking. I was even thinking to get the one that is soft and has a cushion. Store was very clean, well organized according to their items and also fully stocked. All he paid was $42.00, not including tax. They have many other appliances for gardening, home, and also a nursery. I can go on and on and on. I am a loyal customer of Ace, and we have bought a lot of stuff form them for our house in the past. So now, I can sit on this toilet without thinking that I am going to fall in it. Thank you all Ace Warehouses. For your dedication, loyalty and great customer service. They have parking, accept most credit cards, and don't know if they have restrooms or not.

Inconsistent paint and poor customer service - stay away…read more I ordered a gallon and two quarts of Portola paint for a project at home. Their website and labels emphasize "handcrafted" and "batch-mixed" for consistent color, so I expected everything to match. Unfortunately, the two quarts were noticeably different from the gallon right out of the cans. The color variation was clear on the wall and made the whole area look patchy and uneven. I called customer service and spoke with a representative named Dolce. She told me it was my responsibility because it "has to be batch-mixed" and basically blamed me for not knowing that. After some back-and-forth they did refund the paint, which I appreciate. The problem is that the refund doesn't fix the real issue: I now have to repaint the entire wall, hire help, and spend more time and money trying to find a color match that actually works. The hassle and extra expense are significant. For the premium price they charge, I expected much better consistency and support. I won't be buying from Portola again.

I quickly tried to cancel when I saw the shipping they added, but they said it was too late (I called within minutes). It took FOUR business days to arrive. Farrow & Ball shipped me their samples from CANADA in less time and did not charge me a shipping fee. That is whose paint we shall be using! It was dreadfully sneaky for Portola to not disclose their $20.00 shipping and mandatory insurance fee BEFORE placing the online order. UPDATE: PORTOLA LIED in their response about disclosing the outrageous shipping cost! I would NEVER have paid such an outrageous sum to ship from So Cal to Nor Cal! And to MAKE ME pay MORE for THEIR REQUIRED insurance was added insult upon injury! Never again will I order from them, and I will make sure to warn others to avoid them like the plague. After thoroughly and reasonably explaining my situation over the phone to an employee at this location (since they don't allow walk-ins at the moment), they refused to exchange the item, or even take a look at it. It's unfortunate, as I've done well over $100k in shopping from Greencoast over a several year span, and I certainly won't be back. Not to mention the degree of price gauging that occurs on any given visit. Simply put, a very unprofessional hydro store. For good measure, here is a picture of the product.
