This particular location on Tropicana at Durango is so much larger than meets the eye. I loved the personal service here, the organized rows, and the well-curated selection of merchandise. I originally went there for Car Key Duplicates (which are the best deal here, skip the dealership!) and left with an armload of goodies you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Ginger Chews, Sarsaparilla, and beeswax and who knows what else? It all felt very Pacific Northwest or a caring hardware store I used to frequent in West Hollywood. I will be back on my next home project and for basic maintenance supplies, too. This Ace location is ACE and lovely. Pleasant shopping experiences make a difference. You can get harassed by the solar saleswoman behind the desk who won't leave you alone though. Went again this week for more pellets after telling myself not to give this place business. I should've known better! Woman behind the register just sitting there paying more attention to her cellphone, male employees in back yelling and shouting profanity while I had my grandkid with me. At checkout, I noticed one bag had a hole and pellets were falling out, cashier told me to go put it back. Why, so it's someone else's problem? What a joke! Lowe's: Reaching a New Lowest for Corporate Greed…read more I learned the hard way that a "guaranteed" delivery at Lowe's is worthless. I paid over $2,000 for a washer/dryer because of a written promise of a 9-day delivery (see my photo of the receipt). It took 23 days. That delay cost me a tenant and $4,800 in rental income. Their "Executive" team's response to this massive breach of contract? An insulting $200 offer. They acknowledge they broke their word, but they clearly value their profit over the thousands of dollars in damage they caused. If you have a business or rely on your home income, stay away--they will sink to the lowest level to avoid taking responsibility.

This place is awesome!…read more A stark contrast to my experience at the Valley View location, the guys here at this store know how to provide superior customer service! We were, once again, in a situation where we needed some more paint(a different shade) for a different area of the house. After my experience yesterday I decided to take the drive back up to the Sahara and Arville location. Best decision I've made so far today! The employees here are not only friendly, but go to great lengths to try to get you exactly what you're looking for. Bringing my attic cover in tow, Matt was able to get me a near perfect match so I could paint in that area. After describing my situation from yesterday, he was able to explain to me that the reason for the price difference in paint was due to the discount given by the builder. Just getting some kind of logical explanation made all the difference in the world. I just wish the guys from the other location had let me in on this little tidbit. As long as circumstances will allow I will now make it a point to just stick with this location. The prices are reasonable and fair, but it's the outstanding customer service that has me completely impressed! I cannot recommend this place highly enough! 5 stars.

1 STAR -- I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE FOR CONTRACTORS…read more Very disappointing experience. I purchased a NEW chipping gun/jackhammer for a job, and the equipment did not work properly. I returned it expecting to exchange it for another one, but they did not have the same machine available. Instead, they gave my workers a smaller chipping gun that was not powerful enough or suitable for the work we needed to do. My workers were standing around waiting while I was still paying them. This cost me both labor money and valuable time on my job. Because I could not afford to keep waiting, I had to go to Home Depot and purchase another chipping gun so we could continue working. Now, when I return the equipment, I am being told that I have to pay a 20% restocking fee. How is that reasonable? I purchased NEW equipment that did not work properly, tried to exchange it, and the store could not provide a suitable replacement. I had to spend additional money somewhere else just to keep my job moving, and now they want to charge me another 20% to return the equipment. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the employee who helped me. During the conversation, he told me that they have plenty of customers. The way he said it made me feel like he simply did not care if I took my business somewhere else. As a contractor and a paying customer, that is extremely disappointing and disrespectful. As a contractor, my time and my workers' time are money. Equipment needs to work when I purchase it, and when it doesn't, I expect the store to stand behind what they sold me. After this experience, I cannot recommend this store to contractors or anyone who depends on their equipment to get a job done. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Before they were delivered, we went back several times to look at our trees to make sure they weren't too large for our yard. Our original salesman was no longer working there, and that's when we met Houghton, who just happened to be around. We explained our concerns about the size of the trees, giving him the measurements of our yard space. He confirmed that they would fit. I was still anxious but went with his expertise. Once we got home, Houghton called us and asked if we would like him to come over and check out the yard personally. (I had thought about asking him but felt foolish. He knew I still had doubts). He came to our home and confirmed that they would fit perfectly. The trees were just delivered and planted. (Side note... the trees delivered were the wrong ones. One call to Houghton (it was his day off), and within no time, we had the correct ones delivered.) I cannot say enough about Houghton. He wasn't even the salesman we purchased the trees from, but his customer service, professionalism and personal concern for our perfect experience, went above and beyond! I strongly recommend him to anyone who is interested in purchasing trees from Moon Nursery.
