It's been a long time coming!!!!…read more Located on the southeast corner of Hobbs and League City Parkway (Hwy 96), this Ace Hardware is a huge plus to those of us who live west of the Gulf Freeway. I've utilized them a few times now. The staff has been extremely helpful. They know the whole store, not just the department. They aren't experts in everything DIY but I've found them to be more than willing to help or at least try to figure it out. The owners are on-sight most of the time and are extremely friendly. Like any Ace Hardware, some items are slightly more expensive than Lowe's and Home Depot. However, they also have things that those stores don't have, like loose nuts and bolts for instance. Honestly, is there anything more annoying than having to buy pre-packaged nuts and bolts? The project I was doing today required 4 bolts, nuts, and fender washers. I went to Ace and bought 4 bolts, nuts, and washers. I wasn't forced to buy packs that are pre-packaged with numbers that NEVER align. There's always 6 bolts, 4 nuts, and 7 washers. Its like buying hot dogs and buns...the numbers never match. Anyway, I digress. I love being able to buy exactly what I need in the exact count I want. Plus, I got a great deal on some sunflower seeds for my bird feeders. I got a 25lb bag on sale for $9.99. They are also an authorized dealer for Big Green Egg and Traeger Grills. This is important because the only other dealer for BGE in League City recently closed. As far as power tools go, they carry Craftsman, Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Stihl. They carry Benjamin Moore paint and other brands. They have almost everything you need at a hardware store minus a bunch of lumber, fencing, and building/roofing materials. If you need that, don't come here. Bottom line - They have almost everything you need for the DIY projects that you have going around the house. Conveniently located and extremely helpful. I am very glad they are now in the neighborhood.

When we were in the the store, we reminded the young lady who rang it up that wood pellets were included. She agreed. We picked them out and she confirmed that they would be delivered with the grill (nice touch that ACE assembles and delivers!!). Grill was delivered without user manual nor pellets!! The gentleman who delivered had no manual and no pellets!! A nice touch would have been to set the grill up for first use. That did not happen. I fear that they will lose business to Pearland store who has great customer service. I do not want to come across as a complaining old lady, but owners need to be be more involved in their business. We had a malfunction in temp sensor, contacted Traeger directly and went through about 8 reps trying to help us replace the temp probe. No one at corporate has be able to answer/fix our concerns. I suggested to my husband early on to go back to ACE in Friendswood, but he did not. After 4 months of frustration dealing with Traeger, he went back to ACE and relayed all of the gory detains to Mr. Magnuson, the owner, who promptly modified the part that Traeger sent (would not fit) and, voila, the grill is now operational and preparing chicken as I write this. Not a deal-breaker, but indicative of lackluster customer service nonetheless. I'll be back here if and when I need something that they carry. The selection for lawns, pets and outdoor living in general is good. They're a little pricey, but where else can one find a watering trough in this neck of the woods? So, another citizen recommended Patco. I called and talked to Bill, who assured me that Cheyanne could do the job, and boy did she ever!!! She came up with the PERFECT match!! I've only stained the door framing so far, but the stain match is beyond perfect. I'm so glad that I rediscovered this store. This morning I went there with my mother to get a fuel pump, and of course she was asking for help.. There are 7 other employees just laughing, gossiping out behind the counter who has no intention of helping any customer out because the store is "empty".. Anywho, yes the store was empty yet the manager that we were asking to help us was RUDE, she said she can't help us because she's training 1 new employee. And we asked why don't the other 7 employees help us, she just said for us to wait til she finishes training this new hiree. All we were asking was a fuel pump.... Don't go here. Don't expect any help from this store. We have already contacted the corporate about this incident and filed a complaint. From now on, I will advice my friends and family NOT to go here. We will take our business somewhere else.
