So I drove across town and went to Home Depot and they shook my Benjamin Moore paint for about 5 minutes without any hesitation or question. He checked the seal and then put it in the machine. No leak, no issues. I guess you get better service with more experienced employees. Nor did I get any pushback from Home Depot about shaking another store's paint. Now that's service!!! I never thought I'd be endorsing Home Depot over Benjamin Moore for paint, but here I am. . . Very disappointed with this store.

He was gone for 30 minutes; then I noticed their labor sign for diagnosis and minimum charges. I started to get nervous because I was told earlier if it was a simple screw issue there would not be a charge. The service tech came back and said he re-inserted the screw but will probably work itself out again. He recommended a formal diagnostic. There was no charge for this visit. Every paint product I inquired about is more expensive here than at the Vienna Paint & Decorating Co. Some examples: BM paint sample: $7 at Vienna, $9 at Color Wheel BM Advance Primer gallon: $50 at Vienna, $55 at Color Wheel BM Advance paint gallon: $53 at Vienna, $58 at Color Wheel I think the reason is because the Color Wheel has a decorator on staff in its McLean location. However, I went to the Merrifield location, so I didn't get that benefit. Although I suppose there's something to be said for convenience since the Merrifield location is across the street from Home Depot, where you will likely be picking up other supplies for your home improvement project. But in any case, on Christmas Eve, the Vienna Paint & Decorating Co. was closed, so I had no choice but to pay these higher prices since I wanted to paint over the weekend. That said, the man working behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable, having done the same exact project as me (painting kitchen cabinets), and was happy to spend time with me to give tips and advice on how to do the project well. HD employees don't make eye contact with you so you don't stop and ask them anything.

As for the paint quality in my opinion it out performs most of Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore products at a much better price. On commercial projects we use McCormick paints. There EState House Exterior paint is a great product to work with at a much lower price. There interior Revo paints Are Zero VOC and Greenwise certified paint at a fantastic price. If I had to compare Revo to Promar 200 I will say that the Revo paint is more comparable to the interior Sherwin-Williams Super paint. So my review is based on the quality of paint.

I recently used up most of that pint of wall paint for repainting a couple of sections of wall in the living room after having the walls ripped open for a custom surround sound speaker cable run for my HD TV setup. I figured I had better get some more of this paint and hold it in reserve just in case (you never know when the manufacturer is going to discontinue a color!). I found that McCormick Paint is not available at Home Depot or Lowe's - you have to go to their own stores. Fortunately, there is one nearby in Manassas. I've gone by here once before on a Saturday afternoon - but they have limited hours on Saturdays - they close at noon. It's located on Route 28 south of Manassas - a bit just past the interchange of Route 28 and the Prince William County Parkway/Route 28 Bypass. So I made a point to get there about 11:30 am this morning. They had what I needed in stock! Picked up a gallon of their "Tempo Premium - Interior Semi Gloss Acrylic Enamel 18012 Designer White." Cost was $33 and change. Guy snagged me a gallon, rang me up, and I was on my way!
