Wow! = customer service Wow! = multitasking super hero Wow! = knowing everyone's needs and how to assist Wow! = a stool to sit in while I wait I am impressed. I have been to other Sherwin -Williams in the area and they don't even compare to this location. Danny should give classes on proper work ethic... and get a raise! read more

What do we have here, folks? Drumroll please... A PAINT STORE! Sorry, I attempted to make purchasing paint as exciting as possible, a lofty task indeed. With boredom now top of mind, it poses the question: what do you really want from a paint store? My answer is below. For me, no small talk, no upsell, not too much other than paint on the shelves, that's what I want and that's what I got. After handing over a few paint chips that I peeled from the outside wall of my house, the guys behind the counter were quick to help me out. Before I knew it they had disappeared to the back only to resurface with three gallons of the paint that I needed. In and out, very quickly, very happy. Sherwin-Williams, you have done your part, now let's hope my painter doesn't f#ck the whole job up. read more

" Marc Did A Great Job On My Request ! " I went to the Sherwin-Williams Paint store on Magnolia Ave. in El Cajon to get a special paint blend done. I had a can of old Frazee paint that was specially made years ago and was now hard in the can. So I asked Marc at the front counter if he could copy the Frazee Paint old blend and make the color of the new paint the same in a new 1 gallon can. Marc said it would be hard to match the color, but was very nice and knowledgeable as he explained to me in advance what he was going to do, as he took the can of bad paint in the back of the warehouse. Marc worked for about 15 minutes, on making the color of the new paint match the old paint exactly, and he brought me a sample. When I gone home and put the new paint on the wall it matched very well. What a great veteran employee for Sherwin-Williams. Thanks Marc ! read more

Well if you've ever had to choose paint colors for your house you know how fun and easy that is.....NOT!! After four trips back to the El Cajon Sherwin Williams store Joseph and Nicolas were helpful and easy-going in getting me the color I wanted. Great service and knowledgeable staff, highly recommend! read more

Whoever hired the entitled delta bravo working the front counter today needs to reconsider. My husband and I visited this location on recommendation from the La Mesa location to match stain. We were greeted with how can I help you followed by, yeah come back Monday, only a gallon, shoulder shrugs and hands up like he is saying "what". So we went to the Main street location and Andrew hooked us up with what we needed 100%. Stain wasn't going to work for what we thought we needed, Andrew offered options, Andrew had a store full of customers, Andrew was professional. The DB in the Santee store off Magnolia...unsat. With the economy the way it is the Magnolia store may want to pay better attention to who they hire. We will never be back. read more

I went in to get a gallon of paint that contractor had used previously in my house. Felt really awkward while standing there when a male and female employee started to get snippy and argue with each other. A gentleman in front of me and I got helped and as we were waiting the two employees went into the back and could still hear them arguing. The female employee came out and asked me how I wanted to pay, I said cash and she started to give me instructions for the credit card reader and of course had to restate I was paying cash. While I'm waiting for my paint what appears to be a manager comes out of the office and he and the female employee start discussing how the male employee was annoying some days and the female employee said no, every day. Totally unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable and a bit awkward. I won't be going back to this store, will find another SW store to go if I need the same paint. read more

We just painted the entire interior of our new home and used Sherwin Williams EMERALD paint (40% off paints & stains sale made it very affordable and they have these every 4 months or so). Emerald paint is worth every penny-beautiful finish (we used SATIN for the walls, SEMI-GLOSS for baths). The reason for this review though is for the 'outstanding' customer service I received the many times I visited last week to pick up more paint and supplies for our painters. Derek and Robert are stand-outs! They were always polite and patient on the phone and in-store. Every order they took came out perfectly and was ready for pick-up when they said. A BIG thank you to Sherwin Williams in El Cajon and to Derek and Robert for all of their help! read more

My husband sent me here to pick out paint for our home. I was helped by a really nice young lady who was very informative and knowledgable. Way better then big box store's paint department. read more

We were ready to paint our 50+ year old ranch style house and could not decide on the color combo that would work best. Via computer - Sherwin Williams Color Visualizer helped us by being the easiest site to use online, uploading our own house picture quickly, having fast and simple masking (shutters, garage area) abilities online and it imported each color cleanly to our photo. Then, it suggested complimentary colors and we were able to work quickly with different tones of those colors until we got exactly what were looking for... so, it was off to S/W store on Magnolia in El Cajon. Don't let the small size fool you - the crew and management of this location have everything you need in the store to produce a professional grade paint job and they were patient in ensuring that we bought the correct products. You get what you are paying for in paint - there is no doubt. Although we could have gone to a Big Box store for paint and supplies, the quality of Sherwin Williams paint was apparent as we sprayed, rolled and brushed it on. If you think warranty is not that important in paint, you are mistaken.. why? Because there is no way you will want to paint that house again sooner than 10 - 15 years and you have to rely on the color staying as vibrant and flexible as you intended the day you painted... Buy with confidence at this location as they strive to provide excellent customer service and to ensure that you never waste your money or time! read more

My husband and I went to Sherman Williams on mission gorge today and had a very negative experience with one of your customer service counter people. The rep was heavyset and look like he did not like his job very much he was short and curt and unprofessional .The other representative was very kind and polite and helpful and apologetic. We hope to never deal with the rude person we saw today. read more

This store provides excellent and personalized service. I came in for paint for my bedroom and bathroom Joseph was very helpful in putting together some paint colors for me, I brought home the sample colors and returned to purchase two of them. I later realized that the colors that I chose were too light and returned the next day early in the morning hoping they could mix the darker shade. Unfortunately it wasn't a simple fix and they would have to remix them from scratch. Marc made a call and worked with me to discount the new colors that I needed. I can't say enough about the excellent customer service that I received. The employees and management went above and beyond for me. I will always buy my quality paint at Sherman Williams. read more

Staff friendly and knowledgeable, inventory top notch, store clean. I buy alot of sandpaper here in different grits, price even beats buying it online. Quality paint too, buy from a professional who knows what they are talking about, the big box stores are ok for other stuff, but get your paint and primer here! read more

Will Use Again and Again. Branch Manager Michael Hess is hands-on paint expert. He rescued my large level 5 (non-textured smooth as silk drywall finish) ceiling re-paint project by personally camping out at the job overseeing the spraying on his day off nonetheless!!! It is virtually unheard of to paint a high profile ceiling with anything but a flat finish to camouflage imperfections. He oversaw painting with an eggshell (semi-gloss) finish that came out perfect/flawless and even ran back and forth to his store for fine tune paint adjustments in real time. He was able to explain any and all of my questions regarding paint chemistry, formulation and properties including the all so critical primer selection in a level 5 finish. Sherwin-Williams is a winning product (I am converted from Valspar) and manager Michael Hess is a winning player. If you visit professional painter blogs, you will see that the most commonly recommended weapon of choice is Sherwin-Williams paints and primers. Now I see and appreciate the huge difference. read more
