I'm particularly impressed with the durable "Advance" paint for bookshelves, mantles, furniture, doors, trim etc. It's like an oil based paint with water cleanup and has high blocking resistance so things don't stick to it after the paint has dried. Their products are consistently good. We went in today to get advice on refinishing our kitchen cabinets in the easiest way possible. When I told her we didn't want to prime, she suggested a paint that would most likely work well over slightly sanded cabinets. She also told us the price before mixing it to prevent sticker shock, and found a coupon we could use. She mentioned a product to clean the cabinets first, but I ignored it (again, being lazy on this very time consuming project). She brought the product to me and in a very "you really need to do this" voice without being at all pushy recommended it again. And you know what? She was absolutely right! I couldn't believe how much dirt and grease came off my cabinets even though we wipe them down all the time! I often find the paint sample area to be a bit messy with people's trash, and paint samples scattered about, but I can easily overlook this due to the high level of customer service.

What I cannot accept is rude and dismissive customer service. When I asked to speak with the Store Manager, Vicky refused to get him and told me he was "too busy" for me and basically doesn't deal with customers. Interesting, because I've actually met the Store Manager before without knowing who he was, and he was incredibly kind and provided some of the BEST customer service I've received at Lowe's. Meanwhile, my cart during this interaction was filled with thousands of dollars in merchandise. I'm a repeat customer AND I recently opened a Lowe's credit card because of how much I shop here. Vicky's attitude completely changed how I feel about spending my money at this location. The issue was NEVER the markdown. You can tell a customer no without making them feel like they're an inconvenience.
