I am very dissatisfied with Harbor Freight located at 17713…read moreTomball Pkwy, Houston, TX 77064, I am a small business owner of a local Lawn & Mowing company so when I had to do a job across town today I stopped at my nearest harbor freight for a set of new front wheels and tires for my rig, I installed the new wheels and tires in the parking lot and set off. The job I had on this day was a rather large commercial job and by the middle of the job the bushing and bearing failed on me causing me to drive on damaged wheels back to the truck. While driving my rig the 3.5 miles back on pavement with bad bushing and bearings it caused the tires to wear pretty bad, So when I made it home that afternoon I took the wheels and tires back to my local harbor freight store nearest to my home to exchange defective merchandise! I presented my receipt to Joana the teller in which she advised me to go ahead and grab a new set to complete the exchange. So l did so, When I came back to the check out counter (TONY) the manager! Told me he will not except my return and when I asked why he told me that the damage to the wheels and tires did not happen that day and that the wear in the tires happened over a period of time which was not the case! I explained to him that I am a small business owner and the bushings and bearing were defective and he blatantly called me a liar and refused my exchange even though I was clearly with-in my 90 day return policy. (TONY) was very unprofessional at handling this situation. He showed no empathy nor did he show any proper communication skills, This boy needs to put in her place by her superiors before somebody else puts her in her place for talking like an ignorant animal to customers! This employee shows horrible value in loyal paying customers!

very disappointing experience thanks to the store manager, Ronny. We already knew what type of tool…read morewe needed, but we had questions about the different brands and power levels so we could choose the right one. The cashier told Ronny that we needed help. Instead of coming over and asking how he could assist, Ronny said to the cashier, within earshot of us, "If they know what they want I can help them because I can't read minds." It came across as dismissive and rude. We weren't asking him to read our minds -- we wanted basic assistance. A store manager should be setting the standard for customer service, not making sarcastic comments about customers asking for help.

Questionable customer service, but I was still able to get what I needed from the store…read more One thing I wasn't expecting was seeing non-service animals inside the store. I'm allergic to pets, so it was a bit of a surprise to encounter them while shopping at a hardware store. If pets are allowed at this location, it would be helpful to know ahead of time, especially for customers with allergies. Overall, I got what I came for, but the customer service and pet policy were a little disappointing.

The employee on the phone was nice and said they do accept UPS packages. Upon arriving the worker immediately says oh that looks like a UPS package. I immediately knew what she was about to tell me. I told her I called before making the drive and the employee that answered told me they did accept UPS. All she said was "well he lied" and looked away annoyed. I'm disappointed I made the drive for nothing especially when I made sure to confirm with the store directly beforehand. Make sure all your employees are informed and on the same page!!! Extremely inconvenient.

If you go in there a few times, it's almost guaranteed they'll know your name and will ask how your project turned out. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Even if you're not quite sure what you need for your DIY project, they're sure to point you in the right direction and even offer some pointers. The store itself is so organized and clean. They're also able to offer a huge selection of products, even more than you'd imagine for a small business. They offer products for plumbing, electrical, paint, even organic mulch! The list really goes on and on. While you could go to any of the big box stores, they won't beat this level of customer service. Just give Castle Hardware a try and you'll wonder why you've put up with the headache of going to the big box stores.

No one asks if you need help when looking around. And, today, June 1st we were looking at pet toys. There was a nice deal for buy 1 get 1 half off, and we were definitely excited to see this as prices have risen dramatically the last few years. (Picture is attached) We were denied this by a woman at the register, and she even asked another employee who was socializing nearby who gave affirmation. I quote, "Oh yeah, that promotion was only over the weekend, sorry." My wife and i looked clearly skeptical, but we chose to be polite. We put the items back ourselves. (they did not offer to do so for the Inconvenience) After leaving i looked at the photo I took of the sign, and it said it was valid through May 26th through June 7th. I came back inside, and showed the photo to the register employee. Hopefully, this won't happen to the next customer. But, due to this we do not plan on shopping here any longer. In the economic climate, taking care of customers is Paramount as we are all taking our money where accommodating service is the most important thing to retain repeat business. Good Luck in the future. Also, we noticed that organizationally this place does a bad job putting up signs with prices for many items. I would suggest a General Manager or above should inspect this place better.
