Any time I need an item for around the house, this location is always my go-to. I work on the north side of Chicago near a few hardwares stores but I went out of my way just to stop by here. A cherry on top is that they ALWAYS answer their phone! Last time I called in, my phone didn't even ring once and someone was picking up the other lines. Great customer service. Very valuable experience! Always feel welcomed and at Home every time I stop by. Thank you Ace Hardware, looking forward to being back soon! Personal Review: 8.8/10

I know ACE as a well known hardware store that has been around for forever. Most of their stores are intimate and packed full of items that are necessary for your hardware projects. Anyway, I was approached by a sales associate and asked if I needed help finding anything. He took the time to assist me with locating the item and trying to figure out which item was the best for my project. Because the stores are small, they don't have a ton of variety in product but they make up for it with consistent customer service.

They can match paint colors even from small samples, and the Oak Park location can fill spray cans with your custom color. While the prices are higher than big box stores, the quality and personalized service at JC Licht (or as we know it Paulson's Paint) make it worth every penny. The care and expertise you receive here are unmatched. They have street-metered parking at both entrances, and they will happily load your paint and supplies in your car!

If you like a color at your home and would like to match it up, all you have to do is bring in a sample of that color and they will match it up perfectly with this state of the art machine that not only picks up the color but will print out the label on the colors used and will store it there. So if you ever never that color but no longer have the swatch, just let them know and they will show you the colors you used in the past. I find this to be an awesome idea and I have already used this concept a few times. This time coming in I needed a dove gray but didn't have the swatch so they just looked through my account (name and address, LOL) and BAMM! I had my perfectly matched color with no problems. I do have to say though that I know prices go up everywhere but their prices have gone up a lot more then I remember. I guess you are paying for quality though as if your paint didn't take the first time, they will give you another gallon to make sure it covers. Hmmm, but still the price has got me a little baffled and gives me the forced rating of only a 3. Quality wise its really good, but price wise it hurts just a tad to pay almost $60 for a galloon of great paint, I may settle for mediocre paint next time. Nah, I really like the quality so I will be back.
