I am remodeling my bathroom and so close to being finished. Last touches were paint. My uncle is a professional painter, and only buys SW products. We were told what to buy, but like anybody who doesn't paint for a living- what do I REALLY know about paint? The store was clean and the wonderful girl assisted me as soon as I walked in. She was welcoming and polite. She immediately started to answer all questions I had about the paint, and even told me the better one to buy that is specifically better for bathrooms (due to steam, washable, etc). I was impressed by her knowledge of the products in which she sold. This was not the first time I had gone to this store and had her help me. She has previous (about a year ago) helped me pick out some spraypaint that I needed for an outside light fixture. I really was a happy customer of this store. I am glad to see a woman in this field too- very cool. I also appreciated the %30 discount she applied to my bill (current promotion, that I didn't have a coupon for) in which saved me over $30 bucks! Brought my bill down from 80 to $50 for a really nice color blue. I am happy with how exact the color was to the sample, and it came out beautifully. I will only go to this store for my painting needs. SW should keep her around - maybe promote her?!!!

The same evening I met her neighbor who also worked with Thomas to refinish her kitchen. I had been thinking about doing this in my kitchen as my dark cabinets, while beautiful and perfectly functioning, made my space look very dark. Like many people, I spend the majority of my time at home in my kitchen. I scheduled a consult with Thomas and his team and was struck by their eye for design and ability to keep the things we had that worked well and enhance them by adding just the right colors to make the space more current and to add brightness. I did not feel oversold and they took the time to come out several times to help us work through color decisions. When the crew came to do the work I was awestruck with their diligence, attention to detail, focus on preparation, and cleanliness. They minimized disruption to our family, and executed the project perfectly. Thomas came by frequently to be sure the project was on track. My husband and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I absolutely give Thomas Mach Interiors five stars! The entire process and the outcome were flawless.

We had looked at replacing cabinets and at painting and we decided the cabinets were great and checked on painting. Some of the painters we looked at did not do the quality job we wanted (visible brush strokes etc.) so we contacted Thomas Mach for a consultation. He came and shared his vision for how our kitchen could look and we decided right then to go ahead on the project. His team was so professional, and completely protected the rest of the house from the painting. Everything was sprayed on the spot using Farrow and Ball Paint which carries a 6 year warranty. They also helped us decide on new countertops and back splash. They managed the entire project start to finish and we had a new kitchen in just over a week. We were so impressed we had them also paint our dining room which needed it. This was not a low cost project and more expensive than other companies we checked with, but the quality, professionalism and speed made the choice obvious and worth the value.

I can't say enough good things about this family-owned-and-run preservation supplies store. Their…read morestaff is extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful regarding their products. And, they are so very nice. I especially want to thank Will, who was generous with his time and expertise in answering my many questions, taking place over several phone calls, and also Courtney, for responding to my online questions. Atlas Preservation is one of very few retailers in the United States that carry linseed oil paints and supplies, including Ottoson paints imported from Sweden. As a long-time historic preservation advocate and craftsman, I am well aware of the importance and benefits of using appropriate maintenance and repair materials. At the recent International Preservation Trades Workshop (in 2023), Michiel Brouns highlighted the importance of using linseed oil paints and related products for historic buildings. (For detailed information on why and how to use linseed paints, see Brouns' excellent book, "Linseed Paint and Oil: A Practical Guide to Traditional Production and Application"). The moisture-wicking property of linseed paints is in contrast to alkyd and acrylic paints that seal moisture in, which inevitably leads to peeling paint and wood rot. Linseed paints are durable and long-lasting, cost-effective, and provide an environmentally sustainable alternative to petrochemical paints - for both historic and non-historic buildings - and Atlas Preservation is an outstanding source for obtaining these valuable and often-overlooked traditional products. In short, I highly recommend Atlas Preservation for their expertise, focus on high-quality products, and friendly and helpful service!

I have had the pleasure of being part of Jonathan's on site training as well as a visitor to his nationwide tours helping people save Americas cemeteries. Atlas Preservation isn't just some little sales shop, its a store packed full of great products, focusing on things made locally and here in the USA. Specialty products like epoxies and lime mortars that don't meet the needed criteria for historic preservation are imported from Sweden, Germany and Africa. The best product on the market, D/2 biological cleaner is stocked and ready for your historic preservation efforts. Atlas Preservation has always exceeded my expectations with tools, equipment, supplies and most important, knowledge. Atlas Preservation has everything you need, be it for the basic repair person or the artisan who knows exactly what they need, chances are, your needs will always be met. With out a doubt, Atlas Preservation will always be highly recommended by me! Troy R.
