We talked to the clerk about snow blowers and he educated us about the different horse powers and motorized verses battery pack models. If they don't have something, they will order it for you. I have to give a huge shoutout to Rick at Ace Hardware in Texas Corners. This is the kind of…read morecustomer service that is getting harder and harder to find. I originally bought my Weber grill from the Fireplace and Grill Shop in downtown Kalamazoo, but they no longer sell Weber. I needed some replacement igniters and figured Ace Hardware would be my best bet. I first went to my local Ace Hardware and explained what I needed. Basically, I was told, "Nope, sorry, there's nothing we can do." So I tried another Ace in the next town over and got pretty much the exact same answer along with another hardware store that is not an Ace Hardware. Then I called Ace Hardware in Texas Corners and spoke with Rick. What a completely different experience. Rick didn't just tell me he couldn't help or send me on my way. He took the time to look into it, worked on finding the igniters, and actually contacted Weber on my behalf. He ended up getting Weber to cover the ENTIRE manifold assembly under warranty! When the new manifold came in, Rick called me to let me know it was there. I picked it up, got everything back together, and now my grill is almost like new again. Rick absolutely went above and beyond when two other stores had already told me there was nothing they could do. He could have easily done the same thing, but instead he took ownership of the problem and figured out a solution. That's what customer service is supposed to be. Rick was absolutely amazing, and Ace Hardware in Texas Corners has earned my business because of him. I'll gladly drive a little farther to shop at a place that takes care of its customers like this. Thank you, Rick!

There was No Towel provided, one wash station was left VERY dirty so I used the other one which was slightly better. The Drying machine was broken at the hose connection, which made the job soooo much harder and took way more time. One man came in w/his dog, took a look & said I guess were going to Chow Hound. If I had known BEFORE I got started washing my dog I would have gone too, but once my very thick dog's undercoat was wet, i had to finish there. I cannot believe how long it took me to blow-dry my dog with the broken equipment. This really used to be a great facility. Please address the facilities that you offer; fix your broken equipment and include at least one towel. The only reason I come here is because the water pressure is good which helps with rinsing thick dog furr.

This is great little local hardware store that has saved me the trek to Home Depot or Lowe's…read morecountless times. It really comes in handy if you need something and you live locally. For the size of the place it's surprising but they seem to nearly always have what I need. For waterfront residents every spring there's a 20% sale on docks and dock supplies which can add up. I converted from wood to aluminum dock a couple of years ago and literally saved hundreds. It's cool that they run this in the spring when you really need the stuff, too. Parking is a very convenient fifteen feet from on of the front doors unlike the big retailers. Not a huge deal but worthy of mention. Prices here are generally a little higher but I see that as the price paid for convenience. They likely have less room on price point since they don't buy the same bulk vender quantities as the big box stores. They've got a substantial selection of nuts, bolts and screws in metal or stainless steel. The employees are friendly and there's also nearly always someone there to direct you to what you need or give you an opinion on how to tackle a project. Great local business!

Great paint lasts, holds up and doesn't fade. Douglas and Sons ONLY sells great paint. My family and I have been shopping at Douglas and Sons for years and years. There prices are a little higher than at other places, but I only get good products, and I also get fantastic services. For instance, when I was remodeling my daughters bedroom, and we took down the wallpaper, and washed the walls and started painting... after about 20 minutes my paint started to bubble! I was stunned, shocked and nervous, I had never seen such a thing. I knew when I called Douglas and Sons they would know... and after talking to one of their highly talented employees they suspected there was a tiny bit of wallpapers blue in the low spots on my plastered walls. When I went in to see what could be done the owner saw me, asked about my problem, showed real concern, and let me know he had called the manufacturer just to verify there opinion. My solution? easy... a little primer first... and my problem went away. The color looks amazing and my girls are super happy. I would never expect to get that kind of assuredness, care and determination from a "Big Box Store"... Douglas and Sons always takes care of me and I appreciate that greatly.

These guys and galls (Hi Hannah) really deliver. I was happy to receive exactly what I ordered,…read morewhich was a pretty complicated copper gutter parts order needed to repair and retro-fit and existing copper gutter system. I knew I would need to mix and match systems, which is always a danger in doing. (Basically you should normally just choose a system and stick to it throughout.) In this case the gutters were existing, but the previous hanger system needed replacement. They were nice enough to ship me a sample hanger (solid brass), and a small section of their gutter free of charge. That was fantastic and more than I could have asked for, since these are not exactly cheap give-away parts. The test samples worked for my particular (and unusual) repair. And the quality of their parts was very good. I think they might be made in the USA as well, which would be cool if that's the case. (Might want to confirm this though if important to you.) Hannah worked with me through the ordering process, during which I had to make several changes to the order before finally placing it. I'm also usually a little hesitant ordering online when I can't really examine the parts up close, but it all worked out. In the end, all three boxes showed up exactly as ordered. The repair was a success and the homeowner was extremely pleased. A win for everyone.
