First, the hours on yelp, Google and even Waze are incorrect. This store closes at 6 pm daily, not 7pm as it states. I left work early today and drove 45 minutes out of my way to get here by 6:15, which the store had already closed. I had called 4 times throughout the day to confirm times and also to answer questions about anything I needed to bring with me, but was unable to ever speak with someone over the phone. We are getting ready to paint the interior and exterior of a 3000'ft home. And unfortunately, simply due to their hours of operation, I'm going to have to take business elsewhere. Very disappointed in this, as I had heard great things. As a small business owner myself, I understand the importance of cutting costs by shortening hours of operation; however, please do your due diligence to let potential customers know! I had my exterior painted and the painter uses SW so I had them make my color choices. This is a review based on my many visits in the past 2 weeks. + Ambiance is friendly neighborhood paint shop. Located next to Publix and across from HD on Cumberland PKY with an easy access to 285 and 75, it's busy with home owners and contractors. - - Their paints are well rated and highly favored by contractors. I decided to go with one of their exterior paints and had them match the colors I picked out. Unfortunately, their color matching process was excruciatingly painful. Their machine is less than accurate and the staff lack coloring expertise you need from an established paint shop. I landed up getting problems and chores rather than getting the right colors. Awful color coordination. Of the 3 colors, they were able to match only 1 to my satisfaction. 2nd color I wanted a blend of 2 colors they could not match after 5 tries that I had to create a work around. 3rd color I gave up after the 3rd try and went to another paint brand (which they got it right on their 1st try). All in all, a painful color matching experience with the worst kind of offense....a lot of time wasted! + Pricing is in line with other paint shops....I think the contractors get better discounts at SW than others as they all seem to favor them more than others. For home owners, their pricing (before volume discount) seems to be in line with other majors. ++ Service is friendly and helpful. The staff really tried to match my colors but I think their infrastructure is not set up to support it. Seriously, in this case, it's not the people nor their willingness...SW needs a better color match machines and formulas when the colors are not the original SW recipe. ++ Parking is ample and shared with Publix and UPS. Over all, I think paint nowadays from majors are competitive and I don't have a strong preference for any one brand. It's not unreasonable to ask for a national paint shop to match their competitors' colors. SW failed miserably in this case. It's not necessarily a bad thing to have people follow their process but their equipment and process failed to match the colors. Lessons learned here are twofold 1) if buying SW paint, start with their colors only and 2) if you want a human being to help you with the color matching, go elsewhere. read more

I visited the store today to purchase paint for my home. I was greeted with a warm hello as soon as I entered the store and received assistance immediately by Tammy. I did not have the name of the paint color but I had the color match information. She was able to color match the paint that I needed within seconds. While she was getting my paint two other employees greeted me as well. All of the employees were friendly and outgoing. The store was clean and neat. I had a great experience. read more

I was just at the Cumberland Hown Depot and they had a lot of different light bulbs on clearance and it looks like whoever put them there just piled them on a shelf with a yellow clearance label stuck to the shelves. When I got to the check out they rang up with the wrong price, I told the cashier how much they were and I was told to go back to where I found them and take a picture of the label. I was an the way back , I thought to myself why am I doing an associates job. So I went back and the cashier refused to reduce the price. I went ahead and put the items I did purchase in my truck and went back in. Just happened the I guess an assistant manager was in that spot and asked for help and she told me there were 2 people in electrical down the isle. I asked her to help me and explained the situation and she said the cashier should have given me the price I told her, I told her that was not going to happen. It's like I was in the way of here day. I worked at home depot many years ago and the way customers are treated now is absolutely ridiculous, the attitude that is taking over the stores makes me want to avoid all Home Depots at all cost. I would rather go to Ace Hardware and pay alittle more than deal with all attitude and pissed off workers that knew what they were getting into when they applied for a job there. More than likely no one cares about my opinion, but get enough of me and the bottom line will start to show. read more

Great place to learn more about paint options, not just for contractors. :-) There is a lot on info on-line but I found it more helpful to come into the store and learn about various paint options. Historically, I have purchased paint from Home Depot and never appreciated the difference in quality that SW or B. Moore offers. After only a few years of Home Depot paint I could see that I needed something better. To be fair, HD and Lowe's offers various qualities of paint, but they are generally not considered professional grade. The retail price at SW is high, but your painter should have a discount that makes the price vary reasonable. My painter makes money from labor and provides the paint at cost. I had a ton a questions about low VOC paints and the various finishes. It was so nice to speak with a rep at SW. Clearly they have been trained about their products and were very knowledgeable and friendly. Also note that paint samples cost more BUT the quality of the paint is more reliable than the SW samples I got from Lowes (which were so bad that I took back - very poorly mixed). Finally, paint consultations cost $95 but you get a $50 paint credit. Since I am exhausted from all the other work being done on my home, I'll leave accent walls and decorating to phase 2 and will do this at a later time... Conclusion - my overall experience was better at SW than Home Depot or Lowe's. I'll definitely come back for future paint needs... read more
