I had been suffering with a problem with my feet for a lot of years and recently it had gotten so bad that I was having to call out of work so I went to Foot&Ankle concepts and saw Dr. Sherwin . He quickly identified the skin problem on my feet and with antibiotics and some different creams my feet feel so much better. Dr. Nikamal is the best, since my first appointment he made me feel comfortable and trusted him with my foot problem. Over the last 20 years I have been to many foot doctors. Currently I have stabbing pain in my heal that sometimes hurts so bad I can't put weight on it. He is a good listener and seems to have figured out the source of my pain. I am still under his care as he tries to help me with solutions. I have a bone spur on that heal as well as ligament pain from my arch breaking down. He has me wearing a foot brace one hour daily and doing exercises plus he gave me a shot at my last visit. Unfortunately the pain gets really bad if I have to do much walking. read more

I can't sing high enough praises for Dr. Nikamal and his staff! I had been dealing with bunion pain for two thirds of my entire life (and I'm not even 30!) and when I decided enough was enough of that I was lucky to find Foot & Ankle Concepts but I REALLY scored. Dr. Nikamal was extremely patient and understood that, regardless of my age, bunion pain can be debilitating and deserves to be corrected to allow people to live their best lives. He took the time to explain the benefits, and risks, of surgery including the need for orthotic inserts and the healing process post-op. Unfortunately COVID-19 delayed my surgery but the measures Dr. Nikamal and the staff put into place made me feel extremely safe going for regular appointments and proceeding with the surgery (in a surgery center rather than a hospital). Even when my bloodwork was a little off he advocated for my general health and made sure I was in tip top shape before the surgery. After bunion number one was corrected and I realized just how much pain I had been living with I knew I'd hit the jackpot with such an amazing doctor and couldn't wait to take care of the other foot, now both surgeries have been completed and even though I'm only 6 days post-op I'm already mostly joint pain free (A little swollen but feeling good!) Again, I can't thank Dr. Nikamal and his staff for everything enough - the entire process has been more amazing than I'd have ever imagined. read more

Dr Nikamal is amazing, if I could give 10 stars I would! I started seeing Dr Nikamal a couple of years ago for bunion pain, he told me I had a very flexible foot and when I step down the big toe jams which caused the bunion and also never ending callus on my big toe. Seriously, I would get a pedicure and less than a week later it would return! He first recommended to get orthodontic inserts and come back in 6 months to reassess if it helped at all. It did a bit but I would have randomly sharp aching pain in my toe even if I was sitting at work. He suggested to do a surgery, but due to being my right foot, healing time, and I commute from the AV to Glendale everyday I put it off. Due to covid and being able to work remotely I had decided in July 2020 to finally get it done, perfect timing. We spoke about the procedure, what it would entail and also the healing process. With it being my first surgery EVER and never being put under I was quite nervous. Honestly it was one of my worst fears! We scheduled the surgery in November and I received a call the night before from Dr Nikamal for any last questions or concerns and also the anesthesiologist had called me to explain how everything will go and they calmed any nerves I might have had before going in. I had two screws put in to create stability in my foot and also had the bunion shaved, two small scars but very minimal. Initially the downtime was 3 months to be able to put shoes on and start walking/driving. I healed really quick and nicely and was able to put weight down on the foot faster than expected and was able to drive around the 2 1/2 month mark! Now its been 6 months since my surgery and I can tell you that I have NOT grown a callus on my right foot and haven't had any foot pain at all. I am extremely grateful for Dr Nikamal and extremely glad that I ended up being able to do the surgery. I HIGHLY recommend if you have any foot issues. read more

The VA sent me here to get checked out after years of pain. Not only was the pain diagnosed but it was taken care of. I used there surgical center in Oxnard, CA and I could not be more pleased. The surgery and care was so quick and easy but with complete attention to my needs. I could only give 5 stars but Dr. Nakamal is definitely worth many more. read more
