I was able to see this podiatrist at the last minute a couple of weeks ago. I work two jobs- one of them has me stand for hours- and I really overstrained my right foot shortly after Thanksgiving. I was having a lot of pain walking and this office was able to fit me in on the same day shortly before they closed. It's a very clean, modern designed facility. The only downside of this place was that the TV in the main lobby plays pretty loudly and when you get to the back waiting rooms, the music they play is blaring and really distracting. I had a hard time trying to hear myself or try to explain my symptoms to the doctor because I thought that the music/radio was distracting. They checked to see if I had any bone spurs and had me do an x-ray, which I didn't think was necessary, because I wasn't in that sort of pain. I've seen many podiatrists over the years as I've had surgeries for ingrown toenails. I also have a circulatory disease called chronic venous insufficiency, which I've also had multiple surgeries. Since I was the last appointment, I felt as if the doctor was rushing me a little bit when I was trying to explain my symptoms, but he attributed it my foot pain to a stiff calf muscle. He gave me a couple of orthopedic-like shape ware to put into my shoes. I go back in a few weeks for a follow up appointment, but I'm still not 100% better. We'll see what happens. read more

Years later and 3 surgeries after dr kalhor did the initial procedure. I'm still struggle to have a healthy mobile ankle. After speaking with multiple podiatrists this should not be happening with my ankle. She is a scammer and doesn't diagnose properly and provide a proper treatment. After her procedure and consulting with other podiatrists I have had 2 arthroscopic surgeries just to be able to be mobile. Because of this I cannot walk normally or participate in daily activities. Advise and get a second opinion if you visit her office. She did not fix the initial problem she just bandaged it for another procedure. So my husband is trying to get on the list for a new kidney, and was denied due to an ulcer on his toe. His other podiatrist did NOTHING and encouraged us to have is amputated. Dr Kahlor is the absolute best. I have known her close to 20 years. After playing competitive and pick-up basketball for 25 years, my ankles finally gave out. (Broke). I've been going to Dr Kalhor for several months now and I already feel so much better. I've had issues with my right foot since I was a child but most recently I had developed plantar fasciitis and a heel spur in my left foot. I was in so much pain initially. Now my pain and inflammation have significantly subsided. My past doctors had given me pain killers to treat my foot issues but Dr. Kalhor has been using herbal shots on my foot as well as custom orthotics and a night splint. Rather than mask the problem she tackles them by the root and fixes the issues causing the pain. I highly recommend Dr. Kalhor and I wish I had found her sooner. Last year in November I was referred here bc I had nail fungus, I know gross. I started my sessions in January got both my big toe nails removed and started getting laser by beginning of July both of my nails were full grown and healthy. I'm still currently getting laser on my pinky toes just to insure that the fungus doesn't come back. I would hate that. When I went here, I got the sense that Dr. Kalhor was trying to push treatments on me that I didn't need. X-rays were taken of my foot even though my issues were with the skin of my foot. I had a podiatrist when I was a kid who really rubbed me the wrong way. 18 years later and I walk everyday I still think of him. I was really just petrified of podiatrists after that. I finally gave in because both feet are in agony and I made an appoint here at Foot and Ankle concepts. When I walked in the office was very welcoming, beautifully decorated. I sat there anxiously looking through her reviews, watching her videos, checking her website, the whole 9. I go back there and the patient rooms are also very nice, the tech took my xrays, and left me to wait for her. I was really just freaking out it seemed like I was in there all day but it was actually really just 5 minutes lol. She comes in and after 15 seconds I knew she meant business. Although I've been coddling my feet for the past 18 years not wanting them touched out of fear I really needed her to help me. As soon as she sat down she said what's going on with your feet I just broke down, started balling my eyes out(that was not planned), now I'm sobbing, embarrassed, fearing for the life of my feet. She showed me on my xrays what exactly was wrong, what she wants to do to fix it, she told me there's a solution for ALL OF IT, and I trust her. She was sympathetic, she was caring, she's a boss lady. I'm so excited that she has answers and that she's confident she can get me through this. I'm so thankful for this place, for her, for all the upcoming plans. I'm only 28 and I'm happy that she can fix me. I'll update as we go through surgeries!!! My app today was at 2:45pm but I had finished at my Doctors office 4 hours before my app here. Crossing my fingers I called in hopes someone canceled their app so I could go in earlier and they said sure come now. ANYWAYS, before I called for my very first visit I verified they take Medicare, they said they did. I was ecstatic because I care for my mom who's diabetic and I need help cutting her toe nails. Long story short, they canceled her app cause she receives home care. I was bummed cause I thought we'd get to have a dr together but understood. This was like a month or so ago. I go in today and Jocelyn( the super nice receptionist at the counter) asked if my mom had canceled her home care yet!!!!! What the heck?!? Talk about caring, talk about good memory! That was so sweet of her I can't believe she remembered that. She gave me a new patient packet to bring home for my mom & said as soon as I have discharge papers we can make her an appointment. Omg if that didn't pull on my heart strings. A couple mins later Danny(the X-ray tech) called me & brought me to my room. He sat and talked with me a couple minutes before the #1 foot doc in the world came in. Her and Tyler sat and talked with me about surgery, answered all my questions, gave me CHOCOLATE, and both were super sweet. My fears of podiatrists are slowly disappearing. This review is long overdue. Actually its about 6mos overdue. I was recommended to Kalhor's office by Dr. Otis Wright from Joshua medical center. Honestly seeing her was & is the best decision I have made. I have always had foot issues since I was a kid, but attributed it to playing sports, being extremly active, & always on my feet. I worked a strenuous job for over 13yrs where I was on my feet in upwards of 12-15 per day 5-6 a week & lifted 400lbs+ of photography equipment a min. of 2x a day everday. So being on my feet was a must. About 4 yrs ago I changed jobs & am now only on my feet 7-10hrs a day 5 days a week. So when the pain didn't subside, I finally got a Dr. to listen & was referred to a specialist. Dr. Kalhor informed me that at some point I broke the top of my foot, not sure when. However, in that crack (break) a bone spur grew & on top of the spur a cyst developed. Not just that but on the same foot my nerve was becoming inflamed & I have calcean & heel spurs on both feet as well as damaged nerves. Not only is this whole mess going on, but at some point my arches have collapsed & is also contributing to the constant daily pain. I started seeing Kalhor every 2 weeks to get shots in my feet as well as nerve & pain medication. When she informed me of how bad my feet are I told her "you should see my son's feet". I think she truly believed there was no way she could see worse. Well guess what? She did. So not only do I see her, but my 20yr old son sees her, as well as my husband & our 11yr old son. She is truly one of the most kind, sweet, patient, understanding, & knowledgeable Dr's I have ever seen. I dread going to the Dr & I never make appts, but with Kalhor its different. I am afraid of needles, yet I am able to allow her to give me a shot every 2 weeks in at least one of my feet. She takes her time with each patient, is polite & courteous, as well as informative & thorough in her care. Although there are times that she is extremely busy, I would gladly wait the extra time (not often do I wait very long) to see her. She genuinely cares about her patients & their families. I highly recommend her to anyone that has any type of pain revolving around the foot/leg/ankle area. She is amazing & has even worked wonders on my oldler son's foot. He needed a new innovative surgey done, as he was born extremely flat footed. Had severe pain when he walked, & we were told that his heels weren't even attached. She literally asked "how in the heck is he even walking"? He is amazed at how good his fixed foot is doing & feeling and can't wait to get the other one done. Dr. Kalhor & him even did a short youtube video about his foot & how well the surgery went for him and quickly he was healing. Her staff is just amazing as her, are always polite, greet the patients as we walk in the door, & truly do enjoy talking to all of us that go in there. After $2000 worth of laser treatments for my toe nail problems, it remain the same, as I was suggested by the doctor that this would eliminate the problem. The laser treatment is a scam, they charge so much and no results. Visited another doctor and I was told by him that the laser is a scam, he treated me with medicine and my toe nails are 100% to recover and I spend only $200 in co payments. Oh yeah laser treatment is a scam since it can not be paid by insurance. Don't go to this doctor she is all laugh and joy joy since she is taking your money. read more

Dr. Kahlor is an amazing doctor. She is great at treating her patients & does amazing surgeries. Her attention to detail is outstanding & she is very thorough in her follow ups. The reason for the 3 stars is due to her office staff. The office staff in Westlake needs training on follow through with paperwork. We have to constantly follow up to make sure the paperwork is being sent to workers comp, only to find out from workers comp the paperwork is not complete & still needs more information. This causes frustration as the lack of attention to detail by the office staff can risk a person's employment. I'm really hopeful the staff get the proper training & actually strives to do the best job they could do for people. I'm sure they would be just as frustrated if they were going through a situation & the office staff was dropping the ball on their paperwork. read more

I have been to Doctor's offices that are terrible with standing room only and no amenities in their waiting room . The poor waiting room conditions usually are a sign of the type of doctor that you will be seeing. On the other hand there is DR Kalhor waiting room which is spacious . has live TV Monitors, a refreshment bar and even a chandler. Other doctors should come here and take notes and what a great waiting room looks like. As the other reviews point out Dr. Kalhor is a very caring and understanding doctor. Where is the option for 10 Stars? Dr Kalhor ended months of acute pain. Abruptly. In its tracks. I developed heel spurs after walking nearly 30 miles, according to my iPhone, at a horse show. Apparently, cowboy boots are NOT made for walking. My right heel became increasingly sore, especially in the morning. I let this go on for months because when I was careful to wear well cushioned shoes, it seemed to show improvement. Why go to the doctor when you're getting better? Only, I'd go barefoot all day cooking Thanksgiving Dinner, and be back to square -10. Or I'd forget and jump down off my horse instead of remembering that there appeared to be a thumb tack poking my heel and slide down...so...carefully. Or I would walk more than 50 feet. Then it would get so bad that I couldn't put any weight on my heel at all when I awoke in the morning. I'd hobble down the hallway trying to walk on my toes, hunched over because it hurt so bad. Toughing it out wasn't making it better. Based on the positive reviews, I chose to make an appointment with Dr. Kalhor. My husband warned me that I'd need to get a shot that was going to hurt really bad. He said when he needed to get the shot in his heel, he almost levitated off the examining table. He told me to be prepared for it to hurt worse than anything, but to just grit my teeth and bear it. When I told friends I had an appointment for a possible heel spur, they told me I was going to get a shot that hurt worse than anything. My own mother said, "Oh, no, you need The Shot! It's awful" I hate needles. I'm sitting in the waiting room, and my husband calls me and tells me not to chicken out. Sure, the shot is going to hurt like a red hot poker in my foot, but I need it. I'm arguing back and forth with him that I'm not getting The Shot, but rather physical therapy. Stop calling me! The people in the waiting room are chuckling at this point, so I announce, I am NOT getting The Shot. 5 minutes into my review of my X-rays, and Dr. Kalhor tells me I need The Shot. She told me that one of her patients told her he had to fight not to kick his doctor in the face when he administered The Shot, but not to worry. She said she's so much better. As she's emptying a can of freezing spray on my foot, preparing the area, I'm freaking out, wondering how she defines "better." Less than unbearably excruciating? Slightly less than the worst pain ever? I'm in the middle of a stern lecture to myself to be careful not to kick anyone when I get The Shot when she says, "All done!". I had no idea she'd even given me a shot. All I felt was the really, really, really cold spray. All that worry for nothing! My foot started to feel numb, as I believe Lidocaine was one of the ingredients. That felt strange, but there was absolutely no comparison to the stabbing pain before. By the next day, I was about 85% better. And within a few days, the pain was gone. I could get out of bed like a completely normal, ambulatory person. On the way out, I called my husband and crowed about how I didn't feel a thing, and his response was to ask me to book him an appointment with Dr. Kalhor right away. When I see her for my follow up appointment, I will have to tell her how grateful I am for such a complete stop to my pain. I highly recommend Dr. Kalhor. She was professional and tried her best to make the procedure as painless as possible for her patients. read more

I came to Dr.Kalhor 9 months pregnant and it was the worst experience I've ever had. The first splint was done wrong and apparently that was done for "free" when I had TRICARE because she felt "bad for me". She wanted to make me wait in the car until we had approval. I went in to get it redone and they wouldn't take me back before my active duty husband with TRICARE paid 150 dollars out of pocket and they stated they'd reimburse us but couldn't get the story straight. We went to another facility MB Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Specialists a week later and got the care we needed. They billed our insurance and put my boot on for me and took care of me without trying to rush me out and pay out of pocket for their own benefit. I never wrote yelp reviews, but I felt like this one was necessary. 9 months pregnant and treated like complete trash when I was fully insured thanks for putting off my treatment when my baby is due in two weeks read more
