The way you cut the front to frame my face is especially beautiful, it has so much volume and falls perfectly without looking over styled. It's polished, flattering, and still feels effortless. One of those cuts that makes you feel great the second you look in the mirror. I couldn't be happier. Over the moon, thank you for bringing me back to life. And I love that you love my natural color! Over the moon happy and because of you I feel like my old feel good self again. Hot damn! Blessed to have found you.

I've been testing out new salons since moving here with the hope of finding one I really like that…read morealso doesn't break the bank, and had high hopes for this one based on the reviews. I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

Not just any cut (I've been trimming my freakishly long hair for years), I saw Monique Samuels on RHOP with a cute bob and decided that was the hair for me. With newfound conviction that I was a professional hair dresser, I lopped off 6 inches. What? Yes. Confidence. When I found that it was not to my liking, instead of going to an actual professional, I went back in to give myself layers and BANGS. What is wrong with me? Anywho, fast forward a year, my hair had grown out but was long in places it shouldn't be long and short in places I didn't want it to be short. Upon recommendations, I made an appointment with Hanna. 1.) she's worth every penny. My hair is deceptively thick and needs a high quality (no Supercuts here) hairdresser to strategically tame it and also make it manageable for me. She is excellent at what she does 2.) she's professional 3.) she's in demand- I had to make an appointment 2.5 months in advance and it was all she had. Go and fall in love with your hair! You'll feel pretty :)

For context the stylist I've been to for years is based in Baltimore and with how traffic can get I can't justify spending 40% of my saturday going to Baltimore to get my hair done. So I began the search looking for a new hairstyle salon. Tried Alexandria, Springfield, even Fairfax. But none have provided what I need and certainly not justifiable of the price it commanded. So I tried HairSocial because I found it on Google and I liked I can book online. My hair appointment consists of the following: Wash, Blow Dry, and an undercut. Sometimes I'll get it flat-ironed depending on the occasion. So I booked 4 days in advance and when I arrived for my appointment I had to wait 20 mins after my actual time (for context it was a Sunday afternoon and no one else was in the shop except for one customer). When I was seated I was only given a haircut and nothing else despite asking for a hair wash and a blowout. Considering I had to put a downpayment online to book the appointment I naturally felt bamboozled. They offered to do what I originally asked but they said I had to wait an hour. I didn't have time as I had a family dinner I had to attend so I decided to go home and wash my own hair. Before I left, the front desk offered to refund me on my card and then said no and could only offer me a credit. The credit was tied to my account yet the credit isn't available when you book online you can only access the credit if you call to set up an appointment. Extremely disappointed but the stylist did a great job with my haircut. I'm just disappointed that I didn't get what I paid for at a reasonable time. Thankfully the management of the loc in Tysons Corner set things right and as a result despite this location being closer to me I go out of my way to visit the HairSocial in Tyson's Corner (that review will be coming shortly).

Located in this area, stores are known to be always closing by Hair By Lynn has been here for a while. I made my appointment by calling their phone on the Google page, it was a Friday at 1:45 PM and I asked if they had any at 2, they told me 2:30 would be great, and that I can be a bit late if I would like. I came at exactly 2:30 and they were able to take me in at my appointment time. I don't know the name of the person who cut my hair but she had purple and black hair. She walked me to the seat. She brushed my hair out and made sure it wasn't hurting or getting caught too much. Really cared for my comfort. She asked what I was looking for? Are you looking to cut a little bit? I said yes! as I am very attached to my long hair. She took some of the hair and asked if the amount was good, I confirmed. Later she recommended that we cut just a little bit more to get rid of the split ends. In addition she asked if I wanted any layers or shorter hair in the front. I got light/little layers and said yes I would like shorter hair in the front. She recommended it as it would look nice when my hair is tied up. She spent around ~15 minute for my trim and I absolutely love it!! There are no longer split ends and the hair looks cute when tied up! Cost was $27.00 for women's haircut on July 23, 2021 I love that she respected my wants of keeping my hair long and made sure my bad split ends were gone! I would totally come back here again any day. I can brush my hair nicely now!

She took my temperature too. I proceeded to show Lynn the pictures and running my hands through my hair explaining this and that. She asked if she could cut my hair it by spritzing it with water. It would help her get a better feel for my hair. The thickness, the volume, strength and health. Made sense to me....and I had just washed it a few hours before. Very professional and skilled. It was like magic Lynn cut and snipped, and snipped some more. Took out her hair clipper to get it nice and tight by my ear and around the back of my neck.
