This is my home store since I was a youngster in Medford. Sherm was my customer at the Barbers' in the Cedar Mall in Medford. Their home grown meats and ground beef are exceptional and full of flavor. The prices are totally reasonable. If you can't find something, they will order it for you and call you when it arrives. I love their chocolate pudding cakes! Their staff have been there for many years which says a lot. Sherm left a wonderful, amazing legacy!! I moved to Klamath Falls and was totally relieved to see that there is one here with the same great service and prices. Not too mention, a bench for a weary soul to sit on while waiting for a ride! The store is big and rambling and rather industrial. Watch your prices it's like Costco in that they sell some things lower and some things higher to still get a good profit. We had a loud BRASH checker who's first greeting was to make jokes about my age which I didn't appreciate AT ALL. There are many other places to shop. read more

This is a combination of Costco, Sam Club, Trader Joes and Whole Food all in one. I came in looking for dinner, needless to say that I did not find what I was looking for but I won't fault it because of that. The store has a large selection of organic produce, products and coffee which I find very cool. My husband found and bought some organic and natural cooky chips. And we are looking forward to try that out. This is by far the best store of its kind. I wish we have something this awesome in Orange County. We are coming back for more before leaving Klammath Falls. read more

Talk about some of the rudest nastiest people I have ever met! One time I was doing two separate transactions at the self check out. Before I had even started paying for my transaction, the person working with self check out, ran over to me, and essentially accuse me of trying to steal the other items. Also, if you purchase something there and it wasn't what you wanted, you were unable to do returns. They only do returns for defective and bad food which apparently they know they sell, just beware to not buy anything unless you love it because they will not take it back. The dark-haired woman with the glasses at the service desk is incredibly rude and she will whisper about you to her friends as you walk up. Their prices aren't better than Walmarts and only slightly better than Fred Meyer, at least I know at Fred Meyer they care about their customers. I think again if I were you. read more

You might want to be careful shopping there. The staff will walk into you and I guess they expect you to shop around them. The customers are somewhat frightening and will run into you, shove you and scream at you. Just saying, I understand that it is cheap but beware. read more

I shop at Food 4 Less in Medford for the great prices, the organic produce, and health food section. I was pleasantly surprised that Thunderbird in Klamath Falls had nearly the selection of natural foods as Food 4 Less (same parent company). Next time I'm staying in the area I will definitely be shopping here. read more

Seduced by the bourgeois polish of Fred Myer, I overlooked Sherm's Thunderbird on my last visit to K-Falls. Low prices mean things are busy here, so navigating the parking lot involved dodging large families, unsavory characters, and numerous Hover Rounds. There's a killer selection of ethnic and natural foods, cheap produce, and pretty much anything else you might need. I inquired as to the whereabouts of powdered cotija cheese, and a delightful gentleman immediately pointed me towards the section where I could find it between premade tamales and ham hocks. Awesome. Sherm's is huge, so grab a map if you're a first-timer. There's self serve coffee near the exit if you need to fuel up, but hang on to your cart--they're often in short supply. Braving the aisles at Sherm's is kind of like playing Supermarket Sweep against the local talent. It's not for the faint of heart, but it just might yield you super-cheap, showstopping results. If bargain market, big lots, the dollar tree and Walmart had a baby this would be it. This store is laid out like bargain market where you enter on the left side and have to circle the entire store before you can check out due to their isle layout, which forces you to look through items you weren't even thinking about. They also don't have many brand name products. They definitely have every single 2nd runner up product or the store brand version of what the name brand version would be. They ask many different items from fruit, dairy, meat, cleaning supplies, shampoo, toiletry and stationary. There id about 1-2 of each item without choices of many other brands and sizes other than the cereals. The prices are also not worth the products. Make sure to double check your expiration dates! My sister bought 3 different items that were already expired when she read the labels upon getting in the car. Also don't come here if you don't like the strong smell of and old grocery store. There is a weird odor (like bargain markets) that I just can't completely explain, but it smells awful and always hurts my throat. I like Thunderbird. I almost always have good service and the checkers are friendly enough. I don't usually go through the U-Scan here anyway...it seems it's actually slower than the regular lines. The store clerks listen to requests and try to get special things in stock. If they can't they'll explain why not. The natural foods section is the best in town, hands-down, although the organic produce is hit or miss. Fabulous prices. Avoid this store at all costs on or a few days after the first of the month. It's insane because of food stamps. Also, after church on Sundays and Saturday afternoons. I try to go early in the morning to avoid the zoo. read more

This store has a huge selection and I have found that it's my go to place when I can't find a speciality item in any of the other local grocery stores. You can find some great deals and they have a very large beer selection. I don't do my everyday shopping here, but I do enjoy stopping and seeing what sales they have when I'm in the area. At times, they will sell local produce outside, so you don't even have to go into the store to get some of these items. You bag your own groceries and the staff and atmosphere was "okay" during my last visit. Cashier was quick to leave her station and seemed a bit impersonal but I imagine dealing with people all day, it could try anyone's patience. As with most big stores, they accept credit cards and no special membership is required to shop here. read more

I've been in Klamath Falls for a good year now, and I've always loved Thunderbirds, until I went in there this morning looking for mothers day gifts. When I was going to check out, I guess I chose the isle that didn't "accept" checks, so the clerk called for the manager and they literally made me feel like I was stupid. They asked me why I wasn't using my credit or debit card over my checks, and I answered "because I think I do a better job keeping track of my money when I can see what I've boughten down on paper, rather than always checking it online". Let me tell you, I have had a lot of problems with my wells fargo debit card, so I resulted to using my checks since it's a better budgeting system for me. When they heard my answer they said i couldn't use my check because "it would bounce". When I get paid today... So they ripped up my check and told me they would put my cart in the freezer so I could come back and use my debit card..... Sorry, i don't like using my debit card, and I don't like when associates and or managers tell me how to spend my money through my own bank account. Thank you. read more

i come to Klamath twice a year for a few weeks at a time. I cant say that I am generally enthused about grocery shopping. but I do love to shop at this store. the fresh local meats, the large variety of products across the item line. Its a lot nicer in the new store than it used to be, but the organization of products is still terrible. And the service remains the same...bad. I was in there today in the self check out lane. When the computer prompted me to show my id to the "attendant", she ignored me while she talked to another person that worked there. Twice I had to tell people that i was using that check out because the attendant took so long to do her job. It was extremely irritating. The ONLY reason anyone goes there is because its cheap. I will pay more somewhere else so I dont get treated like s%#@. I wont be shopping there again anytime soon. read more

Always amazing. Sherms has a full selection of Bobs Red Mill, a huge bulk department, health food, every cut of meat you can think of (and some you might rather not) at great prices. It takes a few visits to become familiar with the arrangement of things. You learn early on that just because you have found something like what you want but not the exact brand or whatever, dont give up because there may very well be another display up ahead. Some things seem to be a bit scattered. There is a post here that says you have to follow a predescribed path through the store, this is not true. Its popular but checkers are very efficient. And you quite often see somebody you know in there. Wish we had a Sherms here. read more

I live in the state of California in a little town called Dorris. We are the last little village (I think) before crossing the state line into Oregon. Klamath Falls has a Walmart, a Fred Meyer store, an Albertson's store and a Sherm's Thunderbird store. I buy the majority of my groceries at Thunderbird. Next to that, I buy some groceries at Walmart. And usually, I buy some stuff at Fred Meyer. So, percentage wise, roughly estimated, I generally buy around 60% of my monthly groceries at Thunderbird, probably 30% at Walmart and the other 10% at Fred Meyer and Lanes Market, which is a small grocery store in Dorris, California. I've never even been inside Albertson's in Klamath Falls. We have lived here in the area since February 2017, not quite a year as of now. Thunderbird in Klamath Falls is a great store. The employees are also really friendly and helpful. The meat is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, there is a big selection of groceries and other items, such as cleaning supplies, etc. at reasonable prices. Best of all, there's no sales tax in Oregon as there is in California. It's a very nice store. At this point in time, I have no complaints about Thunderbird. read more

When we first arrived, we went to Albertsons to shop. Boy, that was a mistake. Sherm's has fantastic selection of all foods. Great to go, excellent prices, good wine selection. We bought freshly made tamales for dinner and we very pleased with them, the salsa and the wine. Bakery section was very good, but think it could be better with more natural variety. Much better on the inside then first appearance when you drive up. Go there - you will not be disappointed. read more

This store offers some of the best grocery prices in town and has been here for many years. It is hard to beat Sherm's in that regard. But, like many stores this place is the same old same old. I find it depressing to shop here. Just the atmosphere I guess. read more

Best deals in town!! Only thing I don't buy from here is the produce for some reason it is always bad or goes bad within a day or two even the packaged lettuce only lasts a day. I have even bought bad onions from there and thats really hard to do! So I buy everything else here especially the meat they have fantastic prices on the meat with great quality! read more
