By Far the Best place I've been to buy my meats, dog treats, honey, etc!!! Everything in the store is neat and clean and easy to find everything. The meat case is phenomenal, prices are very good and a lot of times less expensive and better quality than the local grocery stores. They also sell game meats like elk, buffalo, antelope if you want something different. The last and thing I love the most, treats for the dogs They have bones, jerky, pig ears and pepperoni. They have really high-quality meat and the prices are about the same as the grocery store's full price. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly; even when it is packed they calmly help you and I have never seen anyone rushed into making a decision. I do wish they would put some cuts on sale. I would buy a lot more because I often shop the sales at other stores to save money. But, I imagine they are so reliable and popular that they don't need to. read more

Ok I was hesitant to even bother stopping here when in town because we have an awesome butcher in Gresham.... but I did because I heard the marinade is awesome. After reviewing some reviews I decided to try a few other things. I bought the #1 recommended marinated Tri-tip... brought it back for the family for dinner. I barbecued it last night. It did NOT disappoint!!!! Omg the flavor was outstanding..... definitely pick up a tri-tip when here!!!! Im so so happy that I bought some extra marinade so that I can make my own meats since kfalls is hours away!!! I also picked up some garlic franks, super dogs (bacon wrapped jalapeno cheddar franks), and chicken apple sausage. We had the chicken apple sausage for breakfast yesterday.... or was delicious. The texture was perfect. It is sweeter as you would expect. Very yummy!!! I picked up some pepperoni sticks as well. Im honestly a bit disappointed in these. They are soft and short and fat...I prefer my pepperoni more dry and a bit skinnier... the flavor was ok but it felt like there was something some seasoning I didn't prefer. The dogs loved it but an expensive treat for them. I will try again or give them to my dad who liked them. Got the pops jerky which is the same marinade as the tritip apparently and omg it is delicious too!!! Well worth trying. Be sure when you enter to take a number!!! The service is quick if guests know what they want. I didn't and the team member really helped me! Clean and tons of options. I almost got a stuffed chop for my dad they looked great.... next time! The meats here are amazing! Customer service is far beyond exceptional. I've never had a cut of meat here that we didn't love. However we have a few favorites that I'd recommend to anyone: 1. The marinated steak here is excellent!!! Buy one and toss it on the grill. It's excellent and you don't have to add any seasoning to it. 2. The chicken apple sausage here is the BEST on the planet. It's amazing!!! The flavor is out of this world and so moist. The best sausage ever!!! 3. You have got to try the pepperoni sticks and jerky! Holy smokes they are delicious!!!! You will never find better jerky or pepperoni sticks in you life!!! They are so good, and full of flavor! 4. North country sausages (I think that's the name) they are awesome! You need to try them! One of the highlights of our week at Running Y Ranch was finding this place early because we had a bbq on the lanai. Our second night in Klamath falls we used the bbq, and had what may be the best pork chops ever, with their Fiver Rub. Thick, with a bone, and so tender. Makes my mouth water. We also got superb scallops, and filets. I have never seen a better filet. I could go on, but you get the point. Friendly staff, a wide assortment of interesting items that made me wish I had another suitcase for the flight back to Hawaii. It was busy on the Saturday when we first went, pretty quiet later in the week when we dropped in to pick up a couple bags of rub to take home. Mahalo! read more

I love Howard's for the simple fact it's a family-owned venture, and they put quality above all else (or so it seems, anyway). Great sausages and prepared meats (Korean Ribs, marinated cuts that are delish), and custom cuts for whatever you might want. Awesome customer service. You can take your game here to be butchered, processed, and smoked...however you like it done. You can order half, quarter, or whole pigs and beef. Elk and buffalo meat are available. Seafood is available, frozen. A large selection of Butte Creek Mill products, Rogue Creamery cheeses, rice mixes, salsa, marinades, etc. Good place to put together a gift pack. While they do carry nitrate-free products, they are not house-made. My only gripe is that you have to ask and see what marinades have MSG in them (unfortunately, several types do, like the Pop's Secret Sauce), BUT they are honest and open about it and will point you in the direction of something more natural if that's what you're after! They get super busy in the afternoons, especially Friday and Saturday. Get a number...the wait will be worth it! (Or go in the morning and avoid the rush.) read more

They are always packed with customers because the realy are the premier smokehouse/meat shop in town. I've taken deer and elk there for custom processing and they are always fast and affordable. Howard's Meat Center has been a family tradition up until this year. In October bought half a beef and got two different prices. Instead of $700 it was $1,200. We get it home and had meat we didn't want. The frustrating part of the entire ordeal is the beef is beyond disgusting. It's gritty and the taste is foul even when seasoning it. So tonight I gave them one last try! Too many people changing the number so I was skipped and got the employee's attention who was very apologetic and kind. Get the marinated tri-tip home. Come to find out they changed the marinate and it's horrible. When changing products they should have to tell the buyer. Sad to say the family tradition is done. read more

Howard's has always come through for my family. I purchased a prime rib for the holidays. The meat was a prime cut and, after we cooked it, was wonderful. Howard's also came through for us when we needed a last minute ham. We picked up a smoked ham, and not only was the staff helpful in how we should prepare it for dinner, the ham was so, so moist after we cooked it. We also used the, when we needed to purchase beef fat for processing our own ground elk. Howard's is always knowledgeable if you have questions, they are awesome. We discovered Howards Meat Market over a year ago on our trip to Crater lake. Since we don't seed dedicated butcher shops like this anymore, and since we live filets so much, we decided to get 4 filets to try. My husband grilled them up and they were the finest most delicious filets we've ever eaten. As a matter of fact, we decided to drive up to Klamath Falls (about 200 miles from where we normally go in the fall). We were late getting in so we decided to spend the night so mu husband could go to Howards first thing in the AM. Thats JUST HOW GOOD their filets and other meat are. We would also like to highly recommend their seasoning and liquid coating you can use on different meats. For you hunters or fishermen out there they can process your catch and get it too you in a timely manner. We have ALSO discovered they will ship meat to you with a 2 day service. Their counter people are superb! We delt with Jordan who went way far and above what's normally expected. This PLACE IS AWESOME!! read more

My first visit and most certainly not my last! An earlier reviewer said the smell alone will keep you there. So true!!! My daughter and son-in-law told us about Howard's and had served us several meals with meat entrees (Elk, Buffalo and regular hamburger) from Howard's. Yum! We now we live here, so of course I had to come in. Oh my, the choices are amazing. Ended up with a stick of buffalo pepperoni. Whole chicken breast Cordon Blue! Delicious! Just take it home and pop it in the oven! Umm, umm, good! Then there were these bacon wrapped, jalepeno cheese hot dogs, oooooohhhhhh my! We haven't even cooked the chuck roast, tomorrow is another day and I am looking forward to it! :0) The staff were very friendly and helpful.
