Came in and there were two other tables taken, so not terribly busy at 1pm. We walked in, no one was at the front. I had to walk around the corner for them to notice me. After that, a worker said she couldn't seat me, that the hostess had to. The hostess was in the middle of cleaning up a table and asked for us to wait a couple minutes while she cleans up. I thought the table she was cleaning was for us, but after cleaning, she seated us at one that was already cleaned. So I was confused on why not seat us first, and continue cleaning. After sitting for a few minutes, hostess walked by and gave us the impression that she wasn't the one to take drink or food orders, but since our waitress was no where to be found, the hostess got us a couple waters. She came back, saying the waitress was on the phone and it would take a few minutes. This experience is already not going well. After finding out the waitress was busy, I had to ask "when would we be able to put an order in? Because we're on a time crunch" and another available waitress comes to take our order. Food was decent! I got the St. Louis ribs and okra and wife ordered a burger. The fries were seasoned so well and the cook on the okra was great!! But the ribs on the other hand were very mediocre. The "spicy" bbq sauce wasn't all that spicy, just a tiny kick. The food was not at all the problem, it was the weird service. The place does feel older but it was decently clean. During the meal, I never saw the waitress that was on the phone, I wondered how long we would've had to wait just to put in an order if I didn't ask. Scale of 1-5, food was a 3.5 and service was a 2.5. We had felt that if they could, they would've just had us wait around on their time for us to get service. This might be brief, but understand we had just left from a Satuday wedding. So we didn't eat much. This place is right on 6th St. It was a quick stop, because the 3 of us were not that hungry. The inside is well lit and very cozy. Definitely enough room for family gatherings too. The very nice and attentive waitress; who we really loved her personality, immediately greeted us and sat us down. We ordered the burnt ends as an appetizer. Honestly, I didn't care for them, too fatty? What should I have expected, it's pork belly. Lol However, they had excellent spice and decent sauce. My sister loved them though. For the main course we decided to get the combo platter consisting of tips, beef ribs, chicken, the pork n beans, rice, and green beans. Everything was delicious and had the right amount of spice. Every meat was very tender. The additional BBQ sauce to dip with was spot on. The one thing I can say, not that I've eaten BBQ everywhere and nor do I go BBQ restaurants often,, but this WAS the best BBQ I've ever tasted. Great job!!! If I want stuffed, I probably would have ordered more food. Lol. Almost forgot, if you have a sweet tooth, they have desserts for which they do switch out often. Wubba's food and service are typically consistently good. Employee Kristi Starr deserves a gold star(r) for going above and beyond yesterday evening. My wife and I were on our way back to Klamath Falls and ordered a large combination family dinner to be picked up. We did so, and then drove home, about 10 miles away. When we got home, we realized that the chicken we ordered didn't make it into the "to go" bags. I called Wubba's, and Kristi answered the phone, immediately apologizing for the oversight. She said she was wrapping up her shift in 5 minutes, and could personally deliver the chicken to our home. We compromised instead on a halfway meeting place, and she made the effort to personally hand it off, along with a yuuuge, complimentary brownie for dessert. That kind of service is definitely "above and beyond". Thank you, Kristi and Wubba's! read more

I called in a small pickup order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived right on time, but the fries were already cold and the cheese curds tasted like they had been sitting around and then refried--they definitely weren't fresh. They also had a strange flavor, almost like Domino's, and nothing like the curds I remember having here a couple years ago. For $28 for just a burger, fries, and cheese curds for one person, I expected much better quality. Really disappointing experience--won't be coming back. read more

Ordered prime rib,,medium. ,, supposed to be good and smoked Showed up at the table almost 1" thick but diameter was ok. I'm used to at least 1 1/2" thick meat minimum. It was well done. Not medium AlSo had a taste like it had been dropped in a salt mine,,,, I would not send a piece of meat back as I don't trust the cooks on round two,,,, mentioned it to the waitress. she kinda looked at me like I was lost,,,, I took another bite and decided it was not gonna work, hmmmmm,, mentioned again to waitress and she said she discounted it,,,, so I said ok I dont want to waste food so I chocked it down with lots of au juice and horseradish,,, got my bill and my $32 prime rib had been discounted $3.25. oh whoopty crap discussed with mgr,,, she said she had no authority to make any adjustments,,, i guess I wouldn't call her a mgr... Visiting my parents in Alturas do decide to take a trip to Klamath Fall for so family bowling! If you are in the area looking for food they serve large portion great for families and quite affordable ! Surprisedly the best bbq item was the chicken it was quite tender , enjoyed the fried okra but everything else was just okay ! Love the spacious dining area and customer services was great ! Went to Wubba's Bbq Shack. It was very close to our hotel. We shared a plate that had pork bbq some baby back ribs and sausage. We got baked beans for a side and I got a bowl Of jambalaya as a side. That could have been a meal in itself as it was delicious as was all the meats. I highly recommend Wubba's BBQ Shack. read more

Very happy with my bbq meal here. The St Louis ribs are juicy and come with a moderate amount of bbq seasoning already on them; they come as a rack and you cut them apart with your own knife, which is easy, because the meat is tender. Excellent sides, too, particularly the green beans with a little bacon. Not as run-down a place as the term "shack" would suggest, it was a clean space with an assortment of 4-person tables. Service was friendly and even a little overly attentive, in that my order was taken and then somebody else came by and offered to take my order too. read more

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - tri-tip & rib combo with St Luis ribs, extra order of pulled pork, and sides of creole rice and fried okra. The ribs is absolutely amazing and fall off the bone soft with fairly little effort. The tri-tip was a block of protein and a bit on the tougher side. We did ask for medium rare but it was closer to well done. The pulled pork was not worth the additional cost. The sides were tasty though! Ambience: n/a - came 30 minutes before closing so ordered food to go Service: 5/5 - very friendly and walked us through the combos and all the different options available. Friendly staff, prompt service, delicious barbecue every time. Great to just drop in - especially on Friday or Saturday when they have a smoked prime rib that is amazing. I got the gumbo, Wubba's boneless chicken wing with spicy BBQ, tri-tip feast medium rare with okra as side dish, and brownies. The gumbo was good, it had a kick to it but I didn't like the garlic breast. The boneless chicken wings don't have enough sauce and it was the dry side. The tri-tip was dry and a bit chewy, but their au jus sauce tasted good. The okra wasn't bad but I wished it wasn't fried. I didn't know it was fried. They did a great job with the menu. We looked at it online before we went here with our mouths watering. We went and were seated right away at a booth that was pretty sticky and had a huge hole in the seat. Whatever. It was a Saturday so I ordered the prime rib with the green beans and corn fritters as sides. Prime rib came with au jus and creamy horseradish which tasted more like sour cream to me. The prime rib was grey in color, I ordered it medium but was more medium well. I just don't feel like it was fresh. Green beans had lots of onions in it which I didn't realize, I hate onions. The corn fritters were delicious though. Very sweet, almost like donut holes. I didn't use the honey butter that came with it, they didn't need it. My boyfriend got a combo with pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, and tri tip, He said the pulled pork was average, the ribs not so great and the tri tip was horrible. He liked the green beans, but asked for Mac and cheese which I don't think was actually an option so he ended up with the macaroni salad which he took one bite of and said no thanks. Our server was very nice and friendly but he talked a lot. I don't think I've ever known so much about a person I've never met before in under an hour. He even followed us out to our car. Lastly I was uncomfortable about the payment of our bill. He brought the check and placed it on the table. It had a QR code on it to scan and pay which I have never seen before. I scanned it and tipped 20%. Our server came over and said "So how are you paying? Cash, card or..?" I was like I just paid via the QR option?" Come hungry! This casual barbecue place has excellent food and great service. I got their sampler platter appetizer that included their pork belly burnt ends, fried cheese curds, fried okra, fried pickles, and fried onion straws. Honestly, I ordered it for the burnt ends, and it turned out that was the least exciting part of the whole dish. I'm not a big fan of okra, but this fried okra was impressive. And everything else on the plate was great, too. We also got their take on a burrito, with their pulled pork and barbecue beans. The pulled pork was really great - if I get to come back, I think I'm just going to get a big plate of that. The beans were a little sweet for my taste, but the overall execution of the burrito was fantastic. Also, the burrito is enough food for two people. So is the sampler appetizer. I'm pretty sure you can't get any single menu item that isn't enough for two people. The bones pull right out and the sauce is a complement not a cover up or baked on. A little chewy on the short end but still good. Nicely done overall.
