While the presentation was great, the taste didn't quite match expectations. The breakfast tacos listed potatoes, but they ended up being more like tater tots, and the tortillas weren't warm -- my friend wasn't very fond of them. I ordered the #5 sandwich, which was described as being on jalapeño toast, but it came on regular toast instead, along with a pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was okay -- not bad, but something I could easily make at home. For the two drinks and two food items, we paid around $40, which felt a bit high considering the overall food experience. I can see why this place is well-loved by locals -- it fits the neighborhood vibe and likely appeals to the regular crowd -- but as visitors, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for us. When we got home, we realized that the chicken we ordered didn't make it into the "to go" bags. I called Wubba's, and Kristi answered the phone, immediately apologizing for the oversight. She said she was wrapping up her shift in 5 minutes, and could personally deliver the chicken to our home. We compromised instead on a halfway meeting place, and she made the effort to personally hand it off, along with a yuuuge, complimentary brownie for dessert. After finding out the waitress was busy, I had to ask "when would we be able to put an order in? Because we're on a time crunch" and another available waitress comes to take our order. Food was decent! I got the St. Louis ribs and okra and wife ordered a burger. The fries were seasoned so well and the cook on the okra was great!! But the ribs on the other hand were very mediocre. The "spicy" bbq sauce wasn't all that spicy, just a tiny kick. The food was not at all the problem, it was the weird service. The place does feel older but it was decently clean. During the meal, I never saw the waitress that was on the phone, I wondered how long we would've had to wait just to put in an order if I didn't ask. Scale of 1-5, food was a 3.5 and service was a 2.5. We had felt that if they could, they would've just had us wait around on their time for us to get service. These aren't lame beers...these are a lot of microbrews as well as a significant amount of hard-to-find beers (read VERY hard to find in K-Falls). They had one of my favorite beers...Duchesse of Bourgogne (Belgian)...I couldn't believe it. They also have other awesome offerings such as nice cheeses (majority seemed to be from Rogue Creamery...solid). And they serve food...sandwiches, salads, breakfast items. And apparently it is excellent...I stopped by on my way to a buddy's house up the street and I asked him about this place and his words were "Yeah, it's awesome. This place is super convenient just off the main highway. It's close to the hospital and OIT. The bathrooms are clean and parking is easy. I really love the fruit bowls and I usually upgrade to get peanut butter and chocolate chips on top. They do have a few taps and some wine that they serve if you're up for that type of experience. Overall, a very nice stop in a small town and its cozy atmosphere makes it one not to miss.
