So glad I took some friends' advice and took my beautiful painting here! Being entirely ignorant and inexperienced, I had very little idea what to expect and was given good advice that was never pushy. At this point, I decided to get my canvas stretched only and to wait until later to get it framed. The canvas stretching was super reasonable and the finished product is incredibly sturdy and looks great. Knowing I was going to leave it unframed for now, they installed a wire on it so I can hang it. When I went to pick it up, I asked for just a few quick ideas for future framing, which they happily did, as well as provided a rough pricing estimate. I love this place! I was looking to get something framed for a friends birthday and as I was looking for a place to go I saw just how expensive it can get, especially for something in the size I planning on getting framed. I took in a print of the Tokyo Subway system map, if I recall correctly it was 35x26 or something like that, it was pretty big. Juan was so helpful! We went back and forth on matting and frames and came to an easy decision on what to do. I was so happy with what Juan did and even happier with the price. I mean the thing was huge and it was $184 total...at other places it would have cost me at least $400! What a deal! My friend was so happy with the gift which makes me even happier that I went here! I could not be happier with the final product and my experience at Sherman Oaks custom framing. Framing is never cheap, but Juan really works with his customers to make sure that they feel comfortable with the price he quotes saying things like "I want to make sure you leave here happy." I framed a print that was about 25"x50" for only $150! That is unheard of! Not only does Juan offer a great price but does an excellent job framing. I came to him with an idea of how thick I wanted a boarder around my print and he suggest I alter the dimensions. I am happy I trusted his expertise because I could not image the framing looking any better. Juan is a guy that you want to do business with! Side note... while I was in his shop I got a ticket on venture blvd. Juan was so sweet he took an extra $30 off the quoted price to "help me pay for my ticket". They have lots of frame options and did a nice job with a basic medium sized shelf frame, however I tried to get a shirt framed and wanted the sleeves done differently from the basic look and this did not go well. They were really bad at communicating with me and trying to work together to get the shirt framed the way I wanted (ended up taking the framed shirt home for the second time with it not at all how I asked for it to be framed). I'd say they're great for a basic framing of photos or paintings, but lack the ability to collaborate artistically to do anything slightly outside of the box. read more

I decided to check out this place based on the reviews. Good selection and the staff was very friendly, but I have to disagree with the reviews saying good prices. I needed a mat cut. Simple. Not very big. Single mat, so one cut. The quote was $140. I worked in a frame shop for several years and this would have been the price for something large or elaborate. I'm scared to think how much it would be to actually get something framed. They do seem to do nice work though, so check it out if you have something precious to frame. read more

I went to 2 framers on Ventura Blvd. before I luckily happened upon this wonderful place. One ironically was called Fast Frame yet needed 2 weeks to frame a small poster or wanted like $60 to do it in a week. Both other shops would have charged me twice as much or more than this outstanding place and taken 2 weeks longer. I got my poster framed in just a few days and the work was exceptional.
