Yes, Marty is a bit quirky and there is no signage indicating where the business is (look for the black mailbox marked 2727) but he is very knowledgeable and has a large variety of plants and trees. I was looking for podocarpus trees which Marty had posted on Craigslist. I didn't realize his business was by appointment only, but he graciously helped me anyway. Since Marty is a grower, he picked out 8 beautiful and well-matched trees from his stock and helped me load them. If you can't find what you are looking for, give Marty a call.

I liked this wild component and especially the parrots. They were fun, I was talking more than them and sometimes it was almost impossible to have a conversation with them. I think they understand Spanish better, so we exchange some greetings in my native language;). Lots of greenery but, as others have commented, a bit on the rundown side. We have been working with Nathan at Moon Valley Nurseries for about four months now and cannot say…read moreenough good things about him. We came in at the very beginning of landscaping a new build, which meant a blank slate and a lot of questions. Nathan took the time to walk us around the yard, show us what was available, and give us real options instead of just pointing at whatever he wanted to move that day. He was genuinely knowledgeable about the plants, what they would do in our space, and what made sense for the look we were going for. He was also friendly and understanding about our budget and our timeline, which we appreciated. We started with a variety of plants to get the project going, and we have gone back several times since for trees and shrubs. Every visit has been the same experience: good advice, no pressure, and someone who clearly enjoys what he does. Great guy to work with. If you are planning a landscape project, ask for Nathan.

This "landscape designer" sugggested that Palo Verdes were the best trees and that they had zero root problems that may interfere with the FIVE underground utilities running on my property that included gas, electric, drainage, AT&T, and Charter Communications. He said he can always make trees "fit." Fit his pocketbook is what he meant. Quite the contrary: Palo Verdes grow up to 25 feet wide and just as tall. My lot is 5500 sf in a tract home community.
