We switched over from a old gas fired furnace / AC to a Heat Pump based new system using a Goodman outside compressor unit. We also replaced our aging ductwork. Installation went very well. Isaac and George were on time and did a great job installing the new system. They were courteous, clean and answered all my questions during the install. Edgar came to fix the leak in and discovered that the condensation drain line was routing directly into the ground (!) causing a plant to grow into the furnace 2. Given this strange occurrence, he diligently inspected all of the hvac system - outside unit and ducts - and discovered asbestos connecting the duct work in the attic (!!), so asbestos was blowing each time we ran the system. 3. He immediately helped find us a remediation specialist and removed the asbestos, thank goodness. 4. Fixed the condensation drain, serviced the outside unit and redid the ducts, all the while never being overly pushing or upselling on services. We're thankful for Edgar and his team. Not only does our HVAC run insanely efficient now (78 degrees is super cool throughout the home; before we'd have to run it at 65 degrees), but the health of our family has been saved because of his diligence. Upon reviewing the Honeywell thermostat instructions and wiring diagram, we identified that the thermostat had been incorrectly wired to the "W" terminal. After rectifying this wiring error, the air conditioning unit resumed normal operation, producing cool air. I subsequently contacted Thomson for clarification regarding the initial service. Their response repeatedly referenced a previous replacement 14 months prior. While their online reviews are predominantly five-star, our experience suggests a lack of professionalism. This incident raises concerns about the necessity of recommended services and the quality of workmanship, potentially indicating errors or intentional oversights during the initial installation.
