Five or ten minutes after reaching out to Advantage Air on Yelp, a staff member from the company (Brenda) contacted me to follow-up and schedule an appointment. She was amazing! On the day of our appointment, the technician arrived on time. In fact, Brenda contacted me beforehand to advise that he was running ahead of schedule so he could be at our home 30 minutes earlier if we were available. We were ready for him so it worked out fine. The repair technician (Joe) arrived and introduced himself. Initially, I had a question about a message displayed on our thermostat, what it meant and if it had anything to do with our AC unit not operating. His response was perfect. He explained everything in Layman's Terms and I appreciated that very much. After inspecting our AC/Heating Unit, Joe determined there were three parts that required replacement; the contactor; the capacitor; and hard start kit. He had some of the parts with him but had to leave to retrieve other parts off-site. He left but promptly returned in about 20-30 minutes, installed the parts and tested everything. Initial contact Rick was the only provider to give a great break down of his services, and units he installs. He was not the lowest bid we received, but he was well worth the extra investment in both responsiveness, quilts of units he installs and workmanships. Showed up on time, multiple crew members, respectful and mindful of our property and cleaned up. Our unit it very quiet, and cools/heats our home evenly with great flow. If you are unaware, the gas company shuts off gas to the house before tenting; turns the gas back on after fumigation; and inspects appliances (heaters, stove, water heater, etc.). After all this, it's a good time to have the heater serviced, especially if the gas company inspection uncovered concerns. The Lakewood technician did a thorough job testing the heater, making sure it was operating safely and efficiently. As the unit did not need repairs, my cost was limited to the basic service fee of $100 quoted at the time I set the appointment.

So my review not only covers the initial installation but the ongoing operation of the furnaces, and the follow-up service---the latter two probably being more important than the installation. Pricing was good---they weren't the very lowest or the highest. But they were willing to do a difficult installation in the basement, where others wanted to put furnaces in the attic, which would have made servicing much more difficult. They addressed all my installation concerns. Anyway, install turned out to be great. And, when I had problems with some of the units, Metric responded quickly and helpfully. They stood behind their work, and have tried to make sure that I continued to be a happy customer. There are a lot of hvac companies, and many with far more reviews---legit and otherwise---than Metric. But I found that you don't need the biggest company or the one with the most reviews to get the product and service that you need. Frankly, I'm more comfortable using a company that doesn't seem overly focused on getting favorable Yelp reviews. Thank you to Hector and Liz!
