Service, five stars. Beers, 2.5 to 3 stars so I averaged it out to four…read more I stopped here because it is on the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour. I learned that the best days to come are Monday through Wednesday because that is when they make the pizzas that they are known for. I love Detroit style pizza, so I might have to come back for that. On weekends, they typically have food trucks when they don't offer the pizza. The bartender was extremely friendly and gave me a lot of information about the brewery and their beers. They had their tap lists printed out an in acrylic holders, but the were smudged and hard to read what some of the options were. The bartender looked for one that was clearer, but they were all pretty bad. He filled me in on the information on any that weren't readable. I tried four different beers and wasn't really a fan of any of them. I was surprised, because one was an Oktoberfest and I typically really enjoy those. I tried one last one that is apparently "everyone's favorite" and still didn't enjoy it. I suppose every brewery has their style and I guess Bloom Brew's just isn't for me. Thankfully, they also have ciders and other drink options on their menu, so I ordered the Laurel Highlands Meadery Cranberry. It was perfection. Just the right amount of fruit and sweetness. One thing I like is that they have several size options. Basically, small medium and large size pours with varying ounces. If I hadn't ordered the cider, I probably would have ordered the smallest size of the sample that I liked the most.

Wow, what? This is a little unassuming taproom next to a laundromat in West Newton, where I'm…read morepretty sure I've never been before. You sort of have to drive by it and turn around down the street. Your first clue that you're on to something good here is that the parking lot is very full.. I went in on a Monday night and the place was packed. People at the bar, people at tables, and everyone is here to grab a beer and get some of those Detroit slices. You absolutely want yours loaded up with a dollop of whipped ricotta, fresh basil reduction which is like a pesto, and their housemade hot honey, which is not hot but is applied liberally. You can add those extras for no charge, and I'm not sure how they are affording that on a four dollar slice. Bonus points for them offering a couple of Athletic NA beers since I no longer drink alcohol. Always appreciate when places are thoughtful about this! Really friendly people and plenty of seating.

Located on the golf course, I would choose here over Brady's ANY day. Most days I would choose here…read moreover Out Of The Fire (OOTF). Why? They have booze, yo. Here's the real deal: OOTF is casual fine dining, this place isn't - but if you are considering OOTF, you should consider this place too. It's a no frills, fake flowers on your table, type of joint. They turn out pretty good food, you don't need a reservation, and you aren't getting charged a cork fee because they haz all liquor. If you want something with the pretense of fine dining, or if you have trouble admitting that a well executed sammich is always better than "fine dining" executed with mere mediocrity, just go to OOTF and don't be mad at me for leading you here. I really like their potato chips. I really like their salad bar (which is awesome for a quick, light lunch). I like their sandwiches - and am partial to their version on a club and one called the birdie. I've never ordered an entree, but have attended a special event there that had a buffet -- they had solid offerings (I don't think those appear on the menu, so no point in talking about them too much -- but everything was cooked properly and nothing was over cooked, which hard for a buffet set up to pull off). The only thing I don't like is the cheesey broccoli soup - which is an unnatural color of orange that I remember from my mother's "homemade" mac and cheese, which contained so much Velvetta. Anyway, check this place out.

I was going to give 3 stars, but then I saw they had Duquesne beer...on tap! Wow, I haven't seen…read morebeer like that since, well, since my childhood when I watched my uncles drinking it. Do yourself a favor, and just get a tall cold Duquesne and one of their hamburgers. The burgs are hand packed, the old school way and served with pub chips. It will take you back in time! Oh, and the prices aren't bad either. Just look for the little Duke sitting on top of the beer tap!
