17MAR2026 5 stars…read more We just had a new heat pump installed. I am happy. The process was very smooth. It all started when I thought about replacing our 15-year-old A/C unit. Fifteen years is near end-of-life and I would rather replace at our convenience and not on a burning hot July day. I contacted B&B via the form on their website and they called back within 20 minutes. Frank (sales rep) came for a visit that afternoon. We discussed all the possible actions and both of us decided the best option would be a direct A/C replacement. The important factors were 1) our A/C unit was on the roof, 2) you don't save a lot of money ($50-80/year) by spending more for a higher SEER. Frank came back the next day with a quote for 3 options: direct replacement, 2) slightly more efficient A/C, 3) heat pump for a much higher list price. But, Carrier's discount and Xcel's huge rebate made the heat pump the cheapest option. We live in a duplex so we and our neighbors decided to both replace the A/C with heat pumps. About $6100 including everything. We did do more research--just to be sure. Scheduling was easy via emails (we had to coordinate 2 households) and B&B sends text reminders, etc. We paid via ACH because "A convenience fee of 2.5% will be added to any credit card transaction." They came on time as scheduled. The crane hoisted the new equipment onto the roof and removed the old. The crew was friendly and kept us informed about the process. Completed within 2 days. Manny provided thorough instructions on how to use our new system. 05JUN2020 4 stars I am happy. Excellent service. Our A/C went out on 28MAY2020. I called B&B and they scheduled us for a repair visit on 05JUN2020 (first date available). They sent me an email confirmation. They called the day before with a reminder. Marco arrived 1 hour and ten minutes early.He spent 1/2 hour here and replaced the capacitor and our AC is working. Yea. They sent me a PDF version of the bill 5 days later. $250 USD. P.S. No one gets 5 stars on first experience.

The labor is charged by the hour even for diagnosing a problem, even if they diagnose a problem incorrectly. When they arrived at my rental property the tech called me saying he had identified the problem with the furnace and would replace the part. I approved the repair and asked him to call me if he ran into any issues with the part install because I was at my absolute max on price for this old furnace. He called about an hour later saying the repair didn't work, they needed to install another part for additional part fees and labor (on top of the $600+ I was being charged for the repair that didn't work). When the tech initially called me after diagnosing the issue he didn't once say that it might not fix the problem otherwise I wouldn't have moved forward. I told him to stop work and I called the office regarding the situation and spoke with the operations manager. During that call he admitted that it could have been a bad part that was installed but the only option to find out would involve me paying additional labor for them to remove the defective part and install a new one. BUT of course if we just decided to replace the furnace with them the repair cost would be waived. This is the most deceptive business practice I have ever encountered. If they installed a defective part why would I be charged MORE labor for them to replace it and check it's functionality? Why didn't the tech verify the part's functionality before calling me attempting to get MORE money for additional parts and labor and why wasn't I made aware from the start that I would be paying for a repair that might not fix the problem? In the end I paid $659 for labor and a likely defective part that didn't fix my furnace. Very dishonest practices. I wouldn't call them unless you have hundreds or thousands of dollars to waste.

I had Tobin come out and give a quote on a new A/C unit a few weeks ago. Their estimator came out…read morepromptly at the specified time and was very thorough in their inspection of the current equipment. We had a 3 year old furnace, and they recommended we match the furnace equipment. (They also conveniently worked with and stocked that same brand). The estimator left and we had a full quote and contract emailed to us quickly. The quote was very fairly priced. It was exactly what I imagined a new AC unit would cost with installation. I was able to price out the equipment myself, and it wasn't unreasonable given the labor involved. I did get several quotes from other HVAC companies and all the other quotes were several thousand dollars more, and did not quote the same brand. Tobin gave us everything we wanted. We scheduled the work a few weeks later and again Tobin's people arrived promptly during the specified time frame. They got to work removing the old equipment and installed the new units, lines, electrical and got everything charged up and tested. The whole process took less than 5 hours. They gave me some tips, answered any questions I had and generally did a good clean job. I would highly recommend Tobin. The other big name guys charged a big name price. Tobin doesn't appear to have nearly as big of an advertising presence, but they were just as professional. No doubt they get a lot of customers through word of mouth, since that's how we heard about them! If you're reading this review, give them a shot!

I'm leaving this review today because I had this company work on a shower for me, work that was never done correctly. I had this company out 3 times to check the problem and they told me there was no problem. Today I found out the cement work and the sealing of the shower were done incorrectly. I'm thankful for the plumbers that have come into my house and been honest with us, we're getting good work done, work that will last years. Not half assed jobs meant to bring the plumber back collecting money, but never fixing the problem. I've saved hundreds of dollars over the last 5 years by not calling Coffman. I see now that y'all were nickel and diming my people for years. Shame on you for the crappy work you did in my house and the money you drained from my people.
