We had an old style single pane door that needed adjusting, Aaron Shepard came to adjust it. While he was fixing the door he gave me an estimate on a sectional door. Woke up at 4:00 AM ready to leave to for work and could not open the garage door. In fact, it was bent and looked like I would need to replace it. Was ready to call one of the big door companies and get an estimate when a friend of mine suggested Aaron, from Shepard Doors. Gave him a call, told him what was going on and he said he would stop by in the afternoon, would take a look and let me know what he thought. He looked at the door and suggested he could fix it and would do so and let me know what I thought when done. He started right away and finished in an hour, (needed one more piece and would come back the next day). As promised, he came back and finished in 15 minutes. Aaron at Shepard Doors initially installed our automatic garage door in 2011 and it's been working wonderfully and operating smoothly ever since. A few days ago it began to act erratically and would start to close and then stop after moving only a few inches, and move back to the original open position. I called Arron, left a message and he called back within an hour. He diagnosed the potential problem(s) over the phone and scheduled me the next day to come take a look at it. After inspection, all that was needed in my case was a seemingly routine adjustment and he was able to take care of within minutes. He then proceeded to perform a check-up on all parts and equipment and made more adjustments - all and all done in about 20 minutes. I was refurbishing the exterior of my house in Northridge, California, and needed a new garage door that would open by remote. My old one had to be opened manually. Our torsion spring broke on our garage door and I tried to replace it myself by watching a U Tube video. As soon as I started to wind the new spring, I felt the tension load up on that sucka and was very afraid that it might slip. The video clearly stated if I wasn't sure about what I was doing to call a professional. So I called our HOA for the townhouses, Sierra Village in Azusa, Ca and was referred by our HOA manager to contact Shepard Doors. I talked to Aaron who services all the garage doors in our complex. The spring on my garage door broke today, on a Saturday afternoon! I thought my weekend was ruined. I had no idea who to call so I called my sister and she highly recommended Shepard Doors. Being a single woman I always rely on referrals from people I know. I called Aaron immediately and he was able to come that same day. He wasn't sure if he had the right spring for my door, but said he would come and take a look and try to fix it temporarily if he didn't have the right one. I thought, great! Even if he didn't have the spring he would try to temporarily fix it if he could. I had places to go so I couldn't have a broken garage door! Within an hour he arrived took a look and he DID have the right spring. Yay! It took him about 30 minutes to replace the broken spring and my garage door was working again!
