I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Joel !! Over the past three years, Joel has done various services on my garage door. He has replaced the springs and the rubber weatherstripping. And just two weeks ago, he replaced the entire motor unit/rail on a very old garage door opener when it broke down. I was not home on the day he did this job, but in talking to him on the phone, he was able to explain very clearly what he was doing and why. He's very professional because he kept in contact with me and sent me photos along the way. Very trustworthy and showed up as promised too!! read more

It has been about 2 years since Joel came out to do a repair for us. Our garage door is probably about 15-17 years old minimum so it's going to have some problems. Last time Joel added some support "struts" to the door and this time in a completely unrelated repair he replaced the door spring which breaks over time with age. I was lucky to catch Joel between jobs and he came out within 1-2 hours. We have security gates and had good communication with him on text to get him in. He is a super nice man and efficient worker. He finished the repair in about 15-25 minutes. I did not have enough cash on me to pay him the exact amount, so he told me to forget the relatively small difference because we are repeat customers who will call him again as need--that's how a good businessman does business. Hopefully our old door will last a while longer, but if it needs another repair or to be replaced, then we will definitely call Joel. If you need help with your garage door, we definitely recommend you give Joel a try. read more

Called and asked to receive an estimate due to my garage door not opening anymore. Employee stated, "Do you want to get it fixed? Or do you just want an estimate?" I replied that I would like an estimate to see how much it would cost before I decided if I can get it fixed. I was told to text him photos of garage door. I texted him the photos and video of the garage motor. He stated it look like I needed a new garage motor. When I questioned him why he never responded back. In addition, I told him that my sensor had been knocked down and when I hold the garage opener down the garage door opens completely and if I hold down the button again it closes completely. Rude on the phone, non responsive on text after I asked why he thought I needed a garage motor. read more

Our garage door worked fine for 14 years after Joel did repairs but today the spring broke. I called in the morning and he came out promptly in the afternoon and replaced the springs, as well as lubricated the door and adjusted the open/close limits. Like the first time, he was very professional, friendly and did an excellent job. The price was reasonable, too. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, as well as recommend him to anyone needing garage door work. read more

We had an unfortunate incident of having the torsion spring break on a Saturday which made the garage door inoperative. Looking around, Joel Garage Doors was highly rated and offered weekend service. We contacted Joel and he was very informative and knowledgeable. He made us feel confident he would do a good job. Joel arrived promptly as scheduled the next day and answered all the questions we had. We felt the value and pricing was great. A great experience and a job well done. Thanks Joel! read more

Joel recently helped me with an extremely tough case of misaligned and imbalanced garage door where it could no longer close flush vertically and horizontally. Picture enclosed to illustrate. On a hot day, Joel stopped by ahead of schedule. As it turned out, this was an especially involved case with many complications that required nearly a full disassembly of the existing garage door system and meticulously reinstalled to "reset" the alignment. Not only was Joel a master of garage door assemblies and the many mechanisms that keep them working, he also was very adept at carpentry work as the wood panels that the system was originally affixed to had warped over time and Joel needed to shave off the sections that warped. Which was one of the drivers for why the door became so badly misaligned vertically and horizontally. All in all, it was 100 minutes straight of hard work and concentration. But Joel was able to handle every aspect all on his own. I will always call Joel for any repairs or maintenance needed for my garage doors. That's where I had gone wrong in the past calling someone else. read more

Joel Garage did a fantastic job replacing my bottom door seal. They even fixed an annoying squeak in one of the roller tracks and resolved an issue with my HomeLink and other garage remotes. While scheduling was a little hard to pin down, the quality of work made it well worth the wait. Highly recommended! read more

ABSOLUTE garbage company. Made an appointment for an estimate a week and a half ago. Got their confirmation, another email reminder about the appointment. I put in for time off of work since the appointment they had was at 5 p.m. and I normally don't get home till later. Cleared my plans and other appointments I had for this day. Well!!! They never showed up!!! Not a courtesy call, NOTHING! If this is the way they conduct business and don't take their customers time serious I am glad I did not give them my business. They already cost me a couple hundred dollars in putting in for time off!! Stay away. read more

Super fair price, gave me two options for replacing the garage door motor. Provided me with a breakdown of what's good between the two options he has. Joel Garage Doors - My new liftmaster thanks Joel ! - Garage Door Services Near Me

Some parts on our garage door broke one morning. The garage door was too heavy to manually lift and a portion of the broken piece also prevented it from being manually opened. We were supposed to leave that morning for a birthday party. I called Joel Garage Doors at 8am on Saturday for help. They were able to arrive by 9am and had the garage door repaired by 9:35am! The repair was done so quickly even though it was difficult to access the garage due to the cars inside. read more

Had a great experience with Joel and would absolutely recommend him! He took the time to explain exactly what was going on, walked me through both short- and long-term options, and never once felt pushy or salesy. Pricing was very transparent and honestly in line with what you'd expect if you bought the parts yourself, which I really appreciated. We ended up replacing the spring and getting a new opener, and everything was done in under 2 hours! read more

Asked Joel to replace springs and add a U Bar to reinforce the garage door. He was honest in accessing the problem and put effort into doing a good job. He also gave a fair price. I was referred to this company through Yelp and they did a great job. No upcharge services and honest in his assessment of what was wrong with my garage door. Joel came out the same day and had the door up and running in about 30 minutes. He was very courteous, professional and was not pushy at all like some of the other companies that reached out to me. His prices were on par with the other companies but he was well worth it with the great job he did. Would definitely recommend! read more

I wish Joel had been the first and not the fourth vendor I reached out to! The other three refused to repair my garage door motor, saying that parts were no longer available, and quoting me $1000+ to install a new one. Joel fixed my broken coupler in less than half an hour, charged me a very reasonable rate, and educated me on my older screw-drive system including what repairs I might need in the future. Joel was very knowledgeable, professional, and he will be the first person I call in the future. read more

Since we were having our garage cleaned out, we decided on a whim to see about getting the garage door fixed. We were so used to opening it by hand, that we almost forgot that there is an easier way. I found Joel on Yelp, he got back to me right away, came out the next day and replaced the motor on the spot. He also fixed a wheel that needed repair. It was so easy, and now we have a top of the line garage door with a security camera. Friendly, fast, quality work. read more

I hired Joel to service my old garage door and to add a new automatic garage opener. He was timely and honest. He didn't try to upsell me or do unnecessary work. His rates were significantly lower than all the other businesses that I contacted. His work is clean and high quality. He was able to service my door by changing out all of the wheels, fixing the track, adjusting the door, adding the weatherproofing strip and then installing the garage opener all in about an hour. The permanent wiring was done very cleanly and the servicing of the door was great. The door doesn't make any strange noises anymore. The new garage opener opens the garage door so smoothly and quietly. Additionally, I appreciate that Joel cleaned up after finishing the install. He hauled away the old materials and didn't leave any trash anywhere. I highly appreciate that he is a local business and does work personally rather than contracting out to others. I would not hesitate to use Joel's services again for future garage work. read more

I'm soo glad that I hired Joel to install my Genie 2HP garage door opener for my 1 piece wooden garage door. His installers did a great job at a very low price of $200. My garage door had a crack and motor was not pulling up the door. Joel responded timely with the time slot provided. He showed up on time and was very courteous. He assessed the situation and concluded that we needed a new motor but just needed a reinforcement on the door. He gave us options and explained the difference. It took less than 1.5 hours to get everything done. Joel did a good job and took the time to clean up everything. I would definitely recommend to give him a call for garage repair. read more

Joel was listed second on yelp's garage door service for my area. We talked on the phone at 10:55 and he was able to be here in an hour. It's too bad that he wasn't listed when googling yesterday for garage door repair where i evidently called a call center, Precision (888-629-6127) who directed me to "Garage Door Service (949-542-6999). Joel replaced the garage door springs and brackets which were replaced yesterday by Garage Door Service who charged me $4,400 for that plus brackets, labor and tax. "They" told me that i needed a new wall motor and quoted me the lowest price of $2,700 to fix my problem. Thankfully, i wanted at least one other estimate and Joel, an honest self-employed man (my parents were self-employed) came. He was actually more upset than my aunt and i over what they did - wrong parts, outrageous repair bill and wrong "fix" of replacing the motor. The true garage door fix was to replace the springs, with the correct springs. And the cost with labor under $450 vs. $4,400! read more

Did my spring repair on my garage with Joel. I'm glad I made the call since today is the Super Bowl game and it's on a Sunday. When I called at 9:45am, he came at 11:19am. Thank you so much Joel! I appreciate you for being so prompt with the emergency service I have. read more

Joel was on time and responsive. He was the second of 3 quotes I had planned to receive on Yelp. Unlike the 1st company who insisted I had to replace the entire garage opener, he was thorough to check on everything and figured out what went wrong and fixed it within 10 mins. While he didn't insist on payment, I agree to pay for his service visit for a flat fee of $60. He was honest and fair and didn't try to upsell me on anything. Would certainly call Joel for future garage needs. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! Don't think this is trustworthy. I used this twice. It was okay and called for the second time a few days ago. BUT, NO LONGER GIVE MY BUSINESS TO THIS. He came and adjusted roller flag bracket strait one side!(about 5-10 degree strait from one o'clock direction) Then I noticed today, a couple days later, the side he fixed has gone up about an inch with door closing. I texted him and he called me back. I didn't complain or blame his job but he was busy to defend himself. He doesn't listen me inquiring question the possibility but let me listen his defense. Such an unprofessional and nonexpert reaction. read more
