Arne is one of the best! We live in the hillside and have two garage doors. We had prior companies come and bid us but Arne was the only one that actually looked very carefully into our garage and made changes to the opening to make it flush with the new doors. He is thoughtful and intelligent. He just finished installing both doors (smooth flush modern) and they are absolutely stunning and beautiful. They are very quiet that we don't even hear them close and they are WiFi enabled with a battery back. Arne was timely and communicated throughout the process. I have had other garage doors installed in the past and Arne is now our go-to. He is also very honest and his prices are very reasonable (no up-charges with him). Look no further. Call Arne and you will he so happy with your decision especially if you have a hillside home!!! read more

Arne is honest, reliable and kind. He was out of town when the spring broke and I felt I couldn't wait to have it replaced, so I made the mistake of calling another company who pressured me into spending in excess of FIVE times what Arne would have charged. I have used Arne every time I had a garage door issue and he is lovely. Once he even helped me adjust the sensors by FaceTime. Upon his return from travel, he was kind enough to follow up to see if I still needed his services. Darn. I should have waited. read more

Arne installed two garage doors for us in Pasadena in 2012 and I loved working with him. Expert but also an honest, considerate person. Just called him to come back for a service call. He did what I needed for a minimal charge and it felt like a visit by a friend. He is also a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. I will always call him first and hope he never retires! read more

Arnes is really great. One morning the garage door wouldn't open and gave Arnes a call who was able to come pretty quickly. He identified the problem: busted spring, which he replaced. Garage door now runs more smoothly and not as noisy! Arnes was super professional, courteous and very reasonable price-wise. So happy to have him take care of the garage and would totally recommend. read more

Arne knew exactly what was wrong, fixed it in less than 15 minutes. Showed up on time, and charged me exactly what he quoted. I would definitely use him again. read more

We've had Arne here twice to fix our garage door ~ he's the best! The first time was about three years ago when he replaced a broken spring on our garage door. This week we called him as our door was stuck after our car's lift gate automatically opened inside the garage and totally trashed the door. But Arne fixed and adjusts it like new. Both times, Arne showed up on time, knew exactly what to do, had what he needed to do the job, and quickly fixed our problems at super reasonable cost. read more

Arne was the only garage door repairman who actually came to my house. All the others (and I called like 5) never showed up. Arne made a very reasonable bid on fixing my pitiful wooden garage door. He fixed it up in one day and also fixed a side door to the garage without any extra charge. Arne is the kind of handyman I wish I could find for the other jobs I need done. My garage door now looks great - Thanks Arne! read more

Just had Arne over to tune-up our garage door. I wasn't sure what the problem was, but it was sticking. So, Arne lubricated it and tightened the springs to lighten the door so it slides smoothly now. Less noisy too. He also synced my new remote to the motor for me b/c I didn't know how to do that (just took a second). So, now I have a back-up remote I can use too. This service call was $65 -- seemed fair to me. Work was done in less than 20 minutes. I really appreciated him coming out on the same day I called since we are in between rain storms (yesterday and tonight). He gave me a two-hour window for his arrival and showed up well within that time frame. It was cool to meet a fellow Norwegian (and his little dog, Happy). Super nice guy and very professional. Thank you again, Arne! read more

This local gentleman was efficient and clean. Arne checked through our 10 year or older model screw drive system so as to thoroughly tech and service it. Upon discovering it was indeed caput and after consulting our home "handyman" attempts to service it and the door mechanisms, he quoted us a fair price for a very solid piece of equipment. Ultimately, we paid with a personal check for a brand new, more quiet and more convenient 2019 chain motor system that has a nice warranty, modern-features and should last us a very longtime. Excellent! read more

We live in South Pasadena. The other day our garage door opener started acting up. We had the garage door springs replaced three years ago by a different company, and my initial thought was that the springs needed some tightening to make it easier for the opener to open and close the door. I found Arne here on yelp and called him. He was able to come over here right away. Arne quickly discovered that the garage door opener's capacitor had burned out and he was able to replace it on the spot. The garage door opener works great again. He also oiled the garage door hinges and the opener mechanism, and also recommended some additional maintenance that I can do myself. read more

Arnes Garage Door - Business Card - Garage Door Services Near Me

Last week, my Genie garage door opener failed due to an issue with the transmitting safety sensor. Arnie called prior to his arrival, very methodically isolated the problem, replaced a section of defective two conductor cable, verified operation, and his total charges were very reasonable. Moreover, he completely verified operation of the opener, and provided me preventative maintenance guidance. I highly recommend Arne for his expertise, fairness, and professionalism. read more

Arne is an excellent garage door repairman - a complete professional. He was prompt, pleasant, fixed our garage door which has not worked properly for years and was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend him! I just wish I could hire him to fix more things in our house. read more

Called Arne on a Thursday to get an estimate for replacing or repairing our very old wooden garage door. He arrived the next morning and outlined our options. He ended up replacing the ancient hinges on our door, installing new springs, and getting it to close properly. Price was a reasonable $300 with labor, same day service. A good reason to go local. read more

Arne is professional, efficient and fairly priced. Based on Arne's reviews, I requested a quote to replace the garage opener and spring and something else, I forget... he offered a fair price but what really sold me on his services was his communication. Arne is a fantastic communicator. He responded to my questions promptly and gave me options (replace vs fix) so I didn't have to spend more than was within my budget. Arne has all the qualities of a perfect contractor. Oh, and he's a super great guy. If you need to replace/repair your garage, I highly recommend Arne! read more

He came over, told me to tighten a nut on the door hardware, and that he wouldn't do anything else, and that my door was OK. I love it!

We set up an appointment ahead and I took a day off to get it fixed. He NEVER showed up or called me back even though I left him two VMs. Someone UNRELIABLE and UNACCOUNTABLE should not receive credits. read more

The sectional garage door was not able to close. The wire cord had come off the pulley-wheel and there was no tension on the cord. I called around 7 places and 3 of them were unwilling to give me an estimated quote stating that lowballers who quote a low estimate will then come out and tell you other things need to be replaced to justify the price increase. Arne was easy to talk to. I asked him what he thought of my problem and he gave me a reasonable price ($65) so I decided to have him look at my garage door. He was very professional and courteous. He told me what to do to maintain the garage door and to avoid having the problem recur. And he fixed the problem without charging me extra (like I had been forewarned about the lowballers). I am very pleased with his service, honesty and fair price. I would call him in the future if I have any other problems. Nov 2013 - The wire cord came off again after about one month so I had to call Arne again. This time he said he may need to bring another person to help him so he had to come back the next day. When he came back, he didn't bring another person with him but he fixed it and charged me $100 this time. He used a bracket to reinforce the rail to keep it in place also. Hope the cord does not come off again because this is now getting pricey. read more

Arne was great! For "simple" things like a malfunctioning chain drive garage door, I prefer to look for the mom and pop businesses. They provide faster service, over the phone quotes, and more flexible scheduling. You know that your money doesn't get funneled to corporate before it gets to your guy. He arranged to come the same day, right on time despite the rain, and was very pleasant. Highly recommended! Fixed it up right away and even gave me pointers on my other garage door. read more

Arne was great - very responsive and worked with me to identify problem on our garage door, which had badly-installed sensor mounts and seemed to have broken old sensors preventing us from closing the door regularly. He first tried a small fix, which seemed to work at first, then when the door didn't close again, he came back and installed new sensor mounts. read more

I just purchased a house with an old garage door that needed to be replaced as it was in bad shape and too heavy to be lifted by an opener. Arne responded quickly to my request for a quote and drove out to me even though our location is a little outside his service area. He gave us a reasonable price, talked us through the options, and didn't push us to get upgrades. The install was smooth and the door looks great. Very happy we went with Arne! read more

Stop looking....Arne is your guy for the job. He is skilled, timely, honest and reasonable & you can't ask for more than that! Just replaced motor and drive on my opener and did it expertly and quickly - very organized and professional. Oh, and by the way, he a nice man also. read more

Garage door spring broke. Called several garage door company. The company that originally installed the garage door, can't come out until the next day. Another did not return call. Arne picked up the call right away and was able to come by within 2.5 hours. Service was fast, friendly and knowledgable. Price was reasonable. read more

Service like it should be. Showed up on time, knew exactly what he was doing, answered all my questions, repaired the problem quickly, and charged the going rate. No nonsense, no selling me stuff I don't need. I will happily recommend him to my neighbors, and will use him again. read more

My garage door was installed about year and half ago by these guys. At the time, I thought they did a good job. Bernie and Arne are both cool. My garage door wheel came out so I called Bernie. I fixed it but my wife wanted a "professional" to look at it. He was able to come out that afternoon. The tracks were greased and it appears to be working fine. The whole thing took 5 min - there was a small service charge. Overall, I thought they did a great job installing the garage door and I would recommend them. read more

Arne is a no-nonsense, honest repairman who charges a reasonable price. I recommend him without reservation. Using him rather than some large advertising conglomerate you cut out the middleman and save money. read more

Arne just repaired a gear in our old garage door that virtually disintegrated. He answered our call yesterday, came over within a few hours and promised to return today. He replaced the one gear, greased up the other, and his price came in $30 less than what he quoted! Fast, reasonably priced, and showed up when promised. What more can you ask for! read more

On time, efficient, professional at a very fair price. What more could you ask? Highly recommended!

I needed to replace a busted spring. Arne was able to come the same day and did the repair in 30 min. He recommended I add a 2nd spring and I think that made the system quieter. He was a local business which is always preferred. read more

Arne was an angel sent. I called and he came the same day to fix my garage door. I just purchased my new townhome and the previous owner left me with a wonderful gift, a broken garage door upon their departure. Arne worked until he had the garage door up and running. He was fair in his pricing and offered to speak to my realtor agent regarding how the door was broken and posed a security risk. I just want others to know how awesome Arnes Garage Door company performed from a "real" honest customer. read more

After calling some other garage door repair places, I was feeling frustrated because it was obvious that i was calling some central calling place. One person was downright hostile when I said that I couldn't wait 3-4 hours. Arne was fast, professional and his price was reasonable. He arrived exactly when he said he would. He said he fixed the garage door and it would probably last us another 20 years. I highly recommend him without any reservation. read more
