Shenandoah Park is a neighborhood park named for the subdivision it lies in. Shenandoah along with Bryan Park, Silver Bluff, Vizcaya-Roads, Coral Gate, Parkdale-Lyndale, South Miami, Bryan Park, and Golden Pines make up the Coral Way neighborhood of Miami. Coral Way lies along Coral Way Road which was established by Coral Gables founder George E. Merrick during the 1920s. The Coral Way subdivisions contain a charming mix of Mission Revival Style architecture and bungalow homes from the 1920s, Art Deco style from the 1930s, and modest post-World War II homes. Shenandoah is one of the oldest areas in the city of Miami and its park is one of the most visited in the city. In 2014 Coca-Cola and the City of Miami teamed up to renovate Shenandoah Park to encourage people to be more active and embrace fitness. Coca-Cola donated more than $200,000 in a grant to help the city expand the park's playground, build an outdoor fitness equipment area and upgrade its tennis courts. In 2021 the City of Miami broke ground on a new aquatic center, basketball courts, soccer field, and fitness equipment. Other Shenandoah Park amenities include a playground, picnic tables, and racquetball court. The park also has a recreation center that offers after school programs, camps, youth programs, computers, and fitness classes while the Aquatics Center offers swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, and recreational swim practice. This neighborhood park has something to appeal to every member of the community. The park space was so skillfully utilized to pack so much in. There is even a library adjacent to the park for even more recreational and cultural programs. It is also beautifully landscaped with public art. I really love this park and the public tennis courts -- it's a great place to play and spend time outdoors. The only thing that could be improved is having a sign-in sheet or a system to track when people arrive and when they leave. A lot of players stay on the courts longer than the one-hour limit, which makes it frustrating for others who are waiting for their turn. They have 4 hard courts, first come first serve with a 1 hr limit. I played at noon on a sunday and it 3/4 courts were occupied. Courts are in good shape. They also have a wall to practice. Plenty of parking available read more

The new aquatic center is a must for those who live in the area. I highly recommend it as a way to cool off during hot Miami summers. I called before arriving, and they were extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. The service was better than what I have experienced at other parks. read more

This is what a community park should look like and be. Something for all ages. You have a great playground for the kiddies, tennis courts, basketball courts, three-walk racquetball courts, a softball field, a cool rec center and more. Every year they put on a Shanandoah day with bounce houses and free food so you get an idea of how essential this park is to the community. This park alone makes the surrounding area so much more appealing to love in. I don't understand why city planners keep that in mind when deciding between a park and another shopping center or business park. This tiny square of a park tucked away in the Shenandoah neighborhood packs quite a recreational punch! For such a small park, there are many activity options - softball fields, a batting cage, racquetball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, beach volleyball, enough wide open green grass for soccer and football, a workout area, playground, a rec center, a public pool, and even a branch of a Miami-Dade public library! Geez - again, this park is just not very large. It's really an incredible triumph of space utilization. Shenandoah residents love their park, too. As the sun goes down you'll find plenty of people enjoying the park - it's without a doubt the heart of the neighborhood. My only real issue with this park is that there isn't much of a shady area to throw a towel down for a picnic. There's only a few trees near the exercise equipment where one could attempt this, otherwise you're square in an open field and will probably have to dodge errant soccer balls. The park itself is amazing so much space you can play basketball, baseball, and soccer. But the pool is not recommended the staff say we need netting in your shorts and i have gone in with basketball shorts. Also i have swimming shorts and they said it's not swimming shorts. read more

Okay... Okay... OKAY!! This place is such a hidden gem in Miami! Wow I honestly could not believe what I saw when I was there for the first time. Okay where to begin... Lets see: 1. Four new tennis courts that are completely FREE to play on!! 2. A decent size field to play soccer, bring your dog, just plain hang out with the family 3. Extremely clean and well kept 4. Plenty of picnic tables for you and your loved ones to enjoy 5. Easy to find location with plenty of parking right out I honestly could not find anything wrong with this place. I first arrived there as a request from a client to teach a simple tennis lesson. What was just suppose to be a one time visit has now turned into a full time designated tennis facility for my clients and I. This place is simply great. The atmosphere is relaxing and very family friendly and the neighborhood is great and extremely convenient. Additionally there are plenty of shops and little cafes surrounding the park. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone and everyone that is looking for a place to hang out for the day and relax. I was pleasantly surprised by this conveniently located gem of a park and tennis center in a central part of town. It's a nice alternative to some of the other parks I play tennis in and has a good family vibe with a mix of kids and adults playing tennis. They also have some hitting walls if you get their and are on the wait list and want to warm up before you play. You offer so many services and there are so many activities for the young and old alike! :) There is anything from Tennis to Racket Ball to Basket Ball to Playgrounds. Camps, Little League teams, and Cheerleading practices. So many activities in just one place! That's why YOU ROCK! I came here to watch the BF play Racket Ball the other day. He plays here a lot and the park is actually really close to where I live. He grew up in the area, so this is his neighborhood park, filled with tons of childhood memories. I enjoy walking around, sitting to watch the BF play, reading, and just enjoying being in the outdoors. This is a great family park for anyone in the area, or even if you're not! They have tons of after school activities too. I was 16 when I first came across Shenandoah park,I attended Shenandoah Elem, Shenandoah middle, then instead of Miami Sr.High I moved & attended Coral Gable's Sr. My first job at 16 was at Shenandoah Summer Program for kids. Them always had great staff & team supports, swimming, trips & the summer lunches were great for the program. I became cert.& worked at Shenandoah Pool during the summers..wow..great memories!! I pickled up a racquetball & racquet at 16 & at 52 still kick butt!!!!! In 1972 Players of all levels played there and still do in 2014! When ever I get a chance I still drop by to get a few games on there outdoor courts (it's 4 Full size courts) lit at night till 10 pm...benches, bathrooms, picnic tables,BB, Tennis, weight lifting area for members inside bldg..had ping pong tables back then. Volleyball program plays there occasionally..loved that too..if your adult, have children, grandchildren..this is still a great Park off SW 22 Ave & 19 st...oh yeah a Library, and Daycare are also available. I highly recommend this family park lots of green area for soccer, and a softball/baseball field too..not sure about the public pool...have fun!! Odalys read more

This is an amazing little park in that they do offer a lot for its community of Little Havana. For me its been the tennis. I have played tennis here many times in the past. There are several hard courts that are routinely maintained and I have always found them to be in decent shape, with very good lighting at night even on weekends, haven't been there in a while but in the past it was always FREE!! Haven't found that where I live in Kendall for tennis courts anyways. Anyhow, if you live near this park, this is a nice park for tennis. In the early evenings you can see people from nearby Brickell and C.Grove playing singles and doubles. Did I mention the lit courts? It's just north off US1 and 22nd avenue. read more

This park is awesome. There's a swimming pool, baseball field, basketball courts, and some pull up bars too. The Library is great too, large selection of books and video, really clean, and staff is very nice and helpful! The circumference of Shenandoah Park is huge, which is great for running, jogging, walking. I like to go for a jog in the morning, and also to walk my dogs at night. The area is decent and the people are super chill here (you wont get mugged). read more

I am rating their summer camp program. They keep the kids outside most of the day. My little brother got a horrible tan last year and he would ask constantly to go inside to play and the counselors would not care about it. We complained to the people in charge and they did not care, they told us thats the way the program functions. I wouldn't recommend this summer camp to anybody, it is not safe to be under the sun most of the day like that especially in Miami. Now that we took him to his annual check up even the doctor noticed the uneven skin color due him being exposed to the sun like that for such a long period of time. read more

Being that this was my neighborhood, I attended Kindergarten at the field house of Shenandoah Park in 1949. I later attended Shenandoah Elementary and then Shenadoah Jr, High and played in the park. Next door was also my library. We swam in the pool when it was built and attended night ball games next door. I saw kids dance in the pool's snack bar patio to Elvis Presley music when he first became popular. A friend just sent me pics of the pool and park area (July 2011) and except for the pool ramp all looks just as it was when I was a kid. read more
