Hot offerings include a burrito, fries, cheeseburger and even a Pulled Pork sandwich. Cold offerings are standard cold-cut fare. Apparently there is some confusion about BBQ. This store does NOT have a BBQ grill nor do they offer BBQ products (ribs, chicken, brisket). However, the store does offer a Pulled Pork sandwich which can be misconstrued as "BBQ". In all, the Market Basket is a convenience store that serves a handful of hot and cold items that are very much akin to 7-11. The stock is very carefully thought out, such that pretty much everything you might need in a pinch is here. They've got an impressively large variety of food items on just a few shelves, plus live bait and propane gas tanks, as well as a reasonable selection of alcoholic beverages, tobacco items, and most impressive of all: wine, flowers, gift items, and even local foodstuffs like cakes and preserves and pickles and honey made right here on the mountain. I love that the owner was careful to make space for local goods--she even calls that white shelf with the mountain-made pickles and preserves her "pride". :-) The place is very clean and amazingly doesn't feel cramped at all despite having so much variety. I really can't think of a better-stocked or -maintained little country store. Sure, it's not a supermarket, but in the midst of a month-long blizzard or a desperate late night craving for sweets, this place'll do very well. That being said, it is closed on Sunday, which I have a case of Chick-fil-A Syndrome over: Part of me thinks, "Good for them!" and part of me is like, "Damn!" But oh well! The store-formerly-known-as-Weber's up the road is open on Sundays, so you could always go there if you can't get down the mountain on the Lord's Day. ;-) Thank you to the owner for opening such a lovingly kept shop in our neighborhood!
