After 6 months of payments and over $8000 in closing costs, only $1000 went to the unpaid principal and over $24,000 went somewhere, not sure where, but it sure did Not go to the balance of my loan. What a rude surprise when I went to pay off my mortgage. How can this happen when they have "over 30 years of experience"? When I brought this to the attention of my loan officer it became a "Big Deal" and the complete lack of empathy was astounding. Other options would have saved me thousands of dollars. My experience in the end turned out with my loan getting sold right away and the lender getting wealthier. If I had to do it over again I would have visited the local credit union that wouldn't have sucked the life out of my bank account.
