Sad. Just sad. We came on a Thursday night to celebrate my birthday. Service wasn't great, didn't know the menu. Asked for wine menu, didn't have it. Good took forever. Order oysters, didn't come with condiments. What?! Had to ask the table next to us, as they didn't receive them either and asked for extras. Crab was small, covered in grease. Seasoning was limited. The hand washer was broken. Went to the womens restroom and I had a two inch paper towel to dry my hands. The straw that broke the camels back. We will not be back. used to love this place now the service is terrible and the restaurant just feels like low class ghetto, which would be fine if their prices were not on par with Park avenue. The restaurant is just not clean like it used to be the upkeep and maintenance is obviously lacking. The final part of the review is the straw that broke the camels back and it was Service or lack there of, my brother and mother arrived about 10 minutes before me and my sons they had ordered drinks and some apps we got there right at 7 we finally got to place our order and i was enjoying the company of my family and finally realized my drink had been empty for some time and every one of our drinks was totally empty and had been for a while i looked at my phone it was 7:35 and hadn't seen our waitress for @ 20 min so when i saw i asked what happened i forget her exact retort but just asked for the manager and i got very angry and just left and walked next door to on the border and had a nice dinner read more

Sat down at 6:15. Ordered drinks- those alone took 20 minutes. Then she took our order. Probably 6:45 we ordered, got our food at 7:50. We ordered crawfish, a salad, a poboy and a chicken sandwich. Insane amount of time to wait. My friends salad came LAST. 6 ppl- automatic gratuity charged which I understand but-- it was NOT BUSY AT ALL. Waitress didn't even apologize for a wait or anything. Wow! This place is really really good. I went on a trip to New Orleans a little while back and the food was very tasty, but I have to say, the Cajon food here is better. Sorry Louisiana, but this place has beat you at your own game. This is hands down the best place to get Cajon seafood in all of the metroplex, and I have been to them all. I highly recommend this restaurant! I think the plate I got was called "Date night", or something like that. It's definitely enough food for 2 grown men to get completely stuffed (my dad and I shared it and we can eat like champs), but I think it is enough to easily feed 3 grown people. read more

I had the fried gator as an appetizer and UT cane with their delicious homemade tarter sauce so good I had to ask for a 2nd I love my dipping sauces. Then I got the king crab boil with garlic and lemon pepper flavoring and it was so amazing my friend got the kitchen sink which had every flavor mixed together but for my 1st time i wanted to to experience each flavor and so glad i did I was very impressed. I can speak to the boiled shrimp I got togo. Even though there was a wait, it is covid19 and wait time are a challenge anywhere. The boiled shrimp were 14.99/Lb and they came in a plastic bag with sauce in it. I ordered Cajun mild flavor and was pleased. I've lived in Mesquite and have been coming to this location for that many years. Yesterday I ordered takeout for 4lbs of crawfish. Let me tell you, if you're going for the crawfish just don't. It tasted like they boiled them in hotdog water. Flavorless and mediocre. I had the "Kitchen Sink Hot" because for some strange reason in Texas they put seasoning all over the shell instead of seasoning the actual water and it was horrible. The fries were good. Also, I don't really like the takeout ordering process. You have to give your card number, expiration date, AND the CVC number on the back. You have young teenage girls working there, that doesn't even seem safe. If my info gets compromised I'll know how and where. I'll take that drive to Boiling Crab now for the remainder of crawfish season so I won't be as disappointed. SEASON THE DANG WATER!!! read more
