I love this hidden gem! Went on a recommendation for a burger. Char grilled and the beer was cold! Friendly staff and lots of darts! I'm a non smoker so be prepared. 1 star for the friendliness of most of the staff. However, the fact that I waited on 2 drinks for 20+ minutes and then had to wait another 10+ minutes for my tab is ridiculous thus the low rating. Then factor in that our waitress was drunk af, blew her vape smoke directly at our face, asked us 3 different times for the name on the card which was repeated to her distinctly. While we still hadn't received our drinks, our waitress somehow had the time to take 2 shots of liquor, continue to vape and serve other patrons was the absolute cherry on top. The pricing was fair for liquor but if you cannot handle your drink, why in the hell are you working in a place like this. Child's play ffs. If you plan to come here, avoid the lady with colored hair, just a train wreck. Bartender and other wait staff seemed much more on top of things. As a prior bartender, if your going to let your staff drink on the job (security guard/ waitress) please make sure they can at least perform their job well. We ordered our drinks at 1:29 and got it at 1:53 with our tab 10+ min after. The music selection was top tier and the ambiance was also great unfortunately this was tarnished by our waitress' service. Kudos to the bouncer who helped the wait staff with closing duties which was definitely more than could be said about our waitress from what we saw while there. read more

I have been coming for a yr now. Love the service. I don't think the servers or bouncers should be allowed to play music on the jukebox. This is their place of employment not enjoyment. People who come want to enjoy getting away from stress and employment. So please consider the people who come and pay money to drink and have a good time here please!!! read more

Parks Place - Chillin at our favorite Sunday funday place - American Near Me - Garland, Texas

My mom was in town for a week and we found this place down the road from her hotel. Keep your eyes open. Very unassuming exterior with just a simple sign announcing its presence. Inside they have multiple screens of sports, a couple pool tables, several dart boards, and electronic gaming. With the electronic gaming you can play trivia or poker with the other patrons. We had fun such a good concept. Being from out of state my mom was not familiar with the "private club" thing. I told her it's basically so people smoke inside. Down to earth place. Just divey enough. Will definitely go back again. Four stars just because our mixed drinks were on the noticeably week side. read more

I had no idea this place was here. It is like finding the proverbial diamond in the rough of Garland, TX. I sat myself down at the bar and immediately the bartender came up to me and asked what I wanted to drink. Ordering one of my local favorites, she brought it over with a smile then asked my name, she then introduced herself and shook my hand. Very nice way to build rapport with your customers. Aerial did a great job looking after me for the rest of the evening. There's a very friendly crowd at Parks Place, almost feels homely. There were 2-3 video games along one wall, trivia TVs scatted throughout and 3-4 TVs above the bar. There were also pool tables available. I didn't eat there but the couple next to me ordered some chicken and sides and it was huge. Literally enough for 4 people. It looked good too. I'm definitely going to come back here to sample some of the food, and enjoy the hospitality. I also struck up another conversation with someone at the bar. The only downside is that, being in Garland, smoking is allowed, but it wasn't so bad that it was in my face. If this place was closer to where I live, and/or there was no smoking, I'd be back more often. I knocked half a star off for that, and for calling locally brewed beer (in the DFW area) an import. Why can't bars just admit they over charge for locally brewed beer because it's unknown numbers of times better than..well, other beer you can get. That usually has "Lite" or "Bud" or "Coors" or "Miller" in the name...not wanting to call any out in particular :) Another 1/2 off for that. I've been here three times now, and each visit was even better than the last! Smoker-friendly (YAY!!!), good jukebox, very friendly staff, and you can buy a ceiling tile to decorate on your own for $5, and it will display forever in the bar. :) *Bought my tile, waiting on my best friend to get here so we can paint it up, deliver it there, and have an awesome girl's night. If memory serves, Thursdays are Ladies Nights. There's some beat up dart boards and about three pool tables, and Golden Tee. Hole in the wall bar. It's almost always crowded here and they seem to have a lot of regulars. The food is WAY better than I expected. I've been here maybe 10 times for after work happy hours and the food is awesome every time. Typical bar food but you can tell it's all made by someone who actually cares and knows that they are doing. There is a nice big patio in the back which we use often for work happy hour. Note: this bar is in Garland so they allow indoor smoking. If you hate cig smoke this place isn't for you. It's well vented so it's not that bad. read more

I went to parks Place right about midnight on 11/17/2022, and the front desk person who checks IDs was very kind. Things started to turn for the worse as the bartender working was super rude. She never once introduced herself and when she made my drink it tasted like it did not have alcohol. I never complained to her. I was talking to a couple next to me as I'm an extrovert and they were having so much fun. I wanted to be a part of that. The bartender made a point to not make me feel comfortable by saying things like we don't talk about politics in the bar and singling me out. The couple next to me looked at her crazy as all I did was answer a question being asked from them. The only reason why I felt she did this is because she did not know me. This was my second time at this place and the first time I came there Justin the bartender was one of the kindest bartenders I have ever met. So welcoming. There was a female across from me who kept on looking at me and approached. Long story short she decided to leave with me and when she came to my house she stated that the bartender working that night said be careful with me when I never met her in my life. Sometimes when an individual is having fun like myself and makes the best of life being a retired US Army Veteran people hate. And that's how I gathered things from the bartender. I hope she doesn't let her personal feelings get to her and treats all colors of people professional. I used to be a daily regular until I relocated where i work! Brandi is all that and a bag of chips! She is not the usual bartender but very friendly, trust worthy and not afraid to tell it like it is. A TON of regulars/freinds who welcome newcomers. Food has dropped off a bit lately as my appearances are not as often. this is not due to the Parks team but my schedule. Just better ventilation and food back up a notch. I used it once while I was there and then 3 weeks later 4000 dollars worth of bogus transactions appeared from online websites like amazon.. Good drinks with friendly employees. They offer food but it's typical bar food selection with a few entrees. My food was cooked well but nothing to write home about. For entertainment they provide a few pool tables and multiple dart boards. There is also a jukebox but it's usually playing country music which is good news if you are into that genre. The ceiling is covered with lots of tiles that patrons can decorate for a nominal price. Be prepared to smell like cigarettes while there and after you leave as they permit smoking inside. The beer selection is good & they have the only Guiness on tap in SW garland. The atmosphere is OK on Friday & Saturday nights they sometimes have Karoke. Some as good as ZZ top BUT just like in the old west in Karoke there is the Good, the bad, & the ugly. The crowd is somewhat older lots of folks in their 40' s & 50's mixing with the younger folks. the music is ok, & the Bar staff is EXCELENT . The food is also pretty good for a bar,. My roommate and I decided to check this bar out based on the reviews and the fact that it was close to home. We were so stoked when we found out it was smoker friendly, especially during the colder months, smoking outside is less then enjoyable. We happened to come on karaoke which was hilarious. Neither of us are big on karaoke but it made for awesome entertainment. All the staff came up and introduced themselves to us, and we never had to wait for service at all. They had quite a few darts boards, and a few pool tables. The coolest thing that stuck out to me though was the ceiling tiles. They had all been painted on by many different people.
