I am not typically a harsh critic but this time I can't avoid it. I was on the highway, close to the Shell gas station when something suddenly flew under my car. I could hear something was stuck and grinding under my car against the road. I pulled over to find a large piece of metal lodged underneath but I couldn't remove it. I went to the Shell as I clearly could not drive it safely anywhere without harming my car further. I asked the guy at Shell for any help with it but he said no. I asked if he knew where I could get help and he again said no. I went back inside my car, trying to figure out what to do next, then made some phone calls. While I am on the line with Roadside Assistance, a guy walks up to my car, knocks on the window and says I need to move my car...he has service to do here. I told him my car is disabled, I shouldn't drive it, I'm on the phone with my insurance. He says well, you drove it here, didn't you? He goes on to say he's a contractor and can't wait...it will take a couple hours for a tow truck to come and I that need to move my car right NOW! He then had the audacity to try to push my car not just away from the pump, but completely off the Shell property. It was beyond rude of him to treat me the way he did. Afterwards, did I see him do any kind of "service" where my car was? No. Anything, anywhere at all? No. He just wanted my car off the property for no good reason, risking damaging my car even further. There was no compassion or patience whatever. I was at the station for maybe 10 minutes and there were no customers around. This Shell station needs to close down. Management sucks while also charging an outrageous $5.10/gal for regular gasoline when everywhere else was way under $5! Even the other Shell, 1 mile down the road was 50 cents per gallon cheaper! This was the worst and most bizarre experience I've ever had at a gas station in my life. I pull up to a pump while I'm talking to my friend on phone speaker in my car around 7:45pm. I'm scarfing down the last of my Taco Bell because I've been working all day and hadn't eaten yet. Just as I finish my food, and am about to go be the conversation so I can get gas and be on my way, I hear a very loud "Can I help you?!". I look over to see an angry old man right by my window, he repeats, louder this time "Can I HELP you?!". Disoriented, I crack open my door and respond: "I'm good thanks. I'm just about to get gas." He says: "You're not getting gas; you're sitting here eating your lunch! You're taking up a pump and that's now a fineable offense. You need to get going NOW!" I quickly look around, and there's not a SINGLE other car at the gas station at the 7 other pumps. Not wanting to get into an argument, I just tell him: "Oh ok my bad, I'll get gas right now then". To which he replies, still yelling and very angrily: "Forget about the gas, you need to get going NOW! You can be charged $200 for sitting them taking up a pump. GO!" Actually speechless, I drive off and find the 76 gas station down the street. Lol I honestly don't understand how any business, even a gas station, can afford to chase away customers. If it wasn't so absurd it would be pretty funny. I highly recommend that you don't go to this gas station unless you enjoy being yelled at. There seem to be comments about this guy dating back a long time, so if a gas station can truly stay in business when they get rid of so many potential customers, I'm definitely in the wrong business... read more

Even after filling up and buying drinks he said it will be a cold day in hell before he turned on the air and demanded his $2.00. He was rude and very disrespectful. I was filling up here a few weeks ago and decided to walk down the street because I was in need of a short piece of rope/string to tie down my trunk lid due to a large box that I was picking up from a friend. I didn't go far, but thought I might have some luck finding some rope on the side of the road vs. making a trip to Home Depot. Upon the return to my car after walking off the property for less than a minute, the gas station owner accused me of "ditching my car" (which is a 2019 Audi). I then discovered that he removed the fuel nozzle from my car before the tank filled completely. His response to my inquiry as to why my vehicle's tank didn't fill completely was rude, vulgar, and uncalled-for. This location is a very convenient place for me to fill up, but I refuse to promote or support such a nasty business owner. read more

I walked in gave a friendly hello! Gave him my money and walked out. After pumping my gas I pulled up next another pump to throw away some trash from taco bell I just had. As I'm plugging in my phone I see Marvin inching his way closer to my window like grinch from his last movie. I roll down my window thinking nothing of it. "Can I help you" we both said to each other. "He replied " this isn't a rest stop. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? there was two other occupied pumps one of which was a caucasian lady. I told him I'm plugging in my GPS system when I see him go up to the lady saying you see that? To which the lady wanted nothing to do with. It's been a while since I've seen such blatant racism. As I'm leaving I see Marvin taking pictures of my vehicle so I turned back around to ask him for his name. He replied "get out this isn't a rest stop I only have 8 pumps. (At this point only one of the pumps were occupied) all of my pumps are full! Do you even work?" First off Im driving a new bmw second wtf does me having ever worked or not have anything to do with the situation at hand? I wasn't trying to belittle my self and argue with this grown man so I walked back to my car. As I'm walking I hear him yelling "I've already texted the police and sent them your picture!" At this point I don't know whether to feel affended or laugh at this poor mans attempt for selfcredit and attention. Look Marvin, I'm sorry your life turned out the way it did. This place is great for any of your service needs, because the customer service here is awesome and the prices for repair are really reasonable...Came in here because the AC on my car wasn't working. They offer AC freon refill but while refilling they noticed there was a slight leak and that's why the AC stopped working hence I needed a new AC hose....o shoot am I about to get screwed here?!? Nope the service shop staff was really nice and ordered me a AC hose far below what I could have got it for, the labor they charged was hardly anything at all, they even wasted extra freon of their own to notice the leak, they replaced the hose, filled the car with freon, and my car was shooting out ice cold air....I was quoted $80 at another place for just freon fill up, I spent less than that here and my hose got replaced!!!....I am definitely coming here for all my car repairs as they don't try to rip you off and also offer other car services from brake jobs to smog checks....you got CAR TROUBLE come here!!! read more

I live close to this gas station - I never buy gas here I go up a little further and purchase it at Rotten Robbie because it is typically .10 cheaper a gallon. I usually just run up here for a quick snack or drink when I feel like being hosed. Generally it is when it is super hot and I am being super lazy. There are also a lot of creepers that hang out around there too. read more

I pulled off of 880 after only being able to get up to 40 mph on the freeway after some traffic cleared up, with smoke coming from my back wheels this last Saturday. I happened to exit right at this service station. What luck! I limped in and one of the guys said he would take a look at my car as soon as he could, the brakes needed to cool off first. Half an hour later he had taken off my rear wheels and said the calipers had clenched and the brake pads had engaged the rotors while driving. They recommended replace the calipers, pads and rotors... but it's a Saturday afternoon and I'm no where near home or my destination. The owner's dad went out to pick up the parts and they had me on the road again in a couple hours. The price was fair and they were quick and respectful. Let's face it, they could have taken advantage of me. They could have just told me that they didn't have the time, afterall, there were plenty of vehicles there being worked on. They did the fair and respectable thing and I appreciate them for that. read more

STAY AWAY! Manny the mechanic told me he would do the 60K tune up for $150. He gave me a coupon that says such. He seemed so friendly that I thought he would be trustworthy. When my wife brought the car in, he said, "okay, no problem, I don't even need the coupon." So, when my wife went to pick up the car, guess what was the total? $450. WTF? He claimed the the dip stick was broken. I call BS (and why did it cost $150 for a F'ing dip stick), but my wife was too nice. On top of that, he added $150 of additional work without even asking, claiming it's a part of the tune up. That's unheard of!! When I go in for $150 of work, the bill should not come out to be $300. I stopped at this location for refueling , a homeless man walked out of the Garage told me that my brake lights aren't working and will diagnose for free . Well guess what He spent 2 freaking hours to find defective some switch that cost me $62.00 and still no brake lights, another 45 minutes later some guy came out of the bathroom looking like he hasn't slept for days helped the homeless mechanic . finally found a burnt 20amp fuse which cost me another $5.00 . They will not return my $62.00 for the good switch that they replaced for misdiagnose . I called the Bureau Of Automotive Repair on this AAA Shell Diagnostic center . I have been treated rudely on two separate occasions by evening cashiers but I go back here because its convenient... whatever, I'd be cranky too if I were working the night shift at a gas station. The garage here is operated independently and I have had a NIGHTMARE experience on two separate occasions. They don't speak english well, I'm guessing the boss Manny has got a serious case of ADHD because he can not pay attention to one thing or a conversation for more than 30 seconds and you always end up following him around the place trying to conclude your discussion. He is VERY evasive about pretty much everything you want to know when getting your car worked on. They won't give written estimates when asked, they always jack up the price when you go to get your car and they are generally shady. I DO NOT RECOMMEND dealing with them unless you absolutely have no options and be very cautious when doing so. Do not go here!!!! THIS GUY AT SHELL GAS STATION HAS BEEN HOLDING MY CAR HOSTAGE without legal authorization to work on my BMW! got one thing repaired and he started to fix other things. Its now been one year, the mechanic did a few things to my vehicle and is charging me $1,000. When all I asked for was a simple fix which is no more than $150 for parts. The owner is a old rude white guy that is extremely mean n ruthless. i parked my car at gas pump to talk to mechanic and pump gas and he yelled at me. So i moved my car and did not pump gas after. From reading all the other reviews that aren't fake accounts it's confirmation this shell gas station is owned and ran by racists. The cashier is incompetent as a working individual who doesn't contribute zero to society. Rude, customer service to people of color. Very similar service as other's expressed, came in to pay for gas cashier locks the door as he sees me walking up to go inside. He then hides behind some shelfs..as i knock he immediately walks out as if he's been standing there waiting. Comes to the door & just gives me this blank look opens the door and just walks to his chair and sits. I gave him $40 for gas and told him which number & all this time he's just rudely stareing even i greeted him. Once i go back to my car and take the nozzle out push the type of gas and begin to put the nozzle in the machine reads "Thank you, have a nice day if you need your receipt pls see cashier" I didn't even get a chance to pump? I look up at the cashier inside and he's stareing at me and sees I'm once again walking up to go inside and tell him there's something wrong & there he goes again walking up to the door to lock it...mind you as i was about to pump gas i seen him pushing stuff on his screen so common sense tells me he canceled my transaction on purpose. He then quickly trys going to the back to hide in the mechanic area and i knock on the window door of the mechanic area, he stops and waves hi...i then signal him to the door and he goes and unlocks the door a bit and says -yes- i explain the situation and he tries to imply i pumped my gas but how could i have in less than a minute? He comes out rudley to my car shoves the nozzle in my tank back & fourth about to break my shit so i stop him and ask him if he could move me to another station...mind you he's ignoring me and about to break my tank then he says rudely "Park your car there" in a screaming voice at this point I'm just done so i ask him for my money back and he begins walking to the front door as i follow he then blocks me from going in to get my refund and I'm confused why he's doing all this and ask him what are you doing? He then screams at me you can't come in and starts screaming as if he's being attacked when I've held my composure this whole time. He finally lets go and says he's going to call the police, for what though? So i tell him call the police, you owe me $40 that your refusing to refund me. He then puts the phone down and takes the money out and as I'm about to grab it he lets it fall to the ground. There was word's exchanged, i asked him for his name (he had no name badge on) and he replied Jose, Juan, maria, etc. Well that explains it. He's racist, i get. He's a white feminine male i doubt any of those are his name. This gas station is litterly a block from santa clara university where it's students are diverse. As a student of that university I'm going to take further actions against this buisness owner and it's employee's. They need to be shut down. These people who run this gas station are part of the problem in society today. Don't give them your business because numbers speak volumes. There are plenty of other shell gas stations that don't run their business based on their racist beliefs. Take your money else where. Incredibly RUDE business owner! I pulled into this station to get gas and parked beside a car. Soon after, an old white man (who I later found out is the owner) comes up to the car next to me, opens the driver door, DINGS MY CAR with the door, looks at my car for a second, then prepares to drive away. I clearly hear the metal ding of his door hitting my car. I do not like it when people damage my property, so I get out of my car to ask him to apologize. At this point, he is reversing his car, trying to drive away from the situation. I stop him and explain he dinged my car, and point to where his door hit me. I'm a very kind person, and at this point I honestly would be satisfied if he said apologized and said sorry. That's all I wanted. Instead, he (the gas station owner) pretends he never hit my car, even after I show him where his door hit my car. He is very evasive and keeps avoiding the topic. I keep pressing him and he admits he is not sorry and will not apologize. He pretends he never hit my car. He then tells me he owns the station and if I don't leave in 30 seconds he's calling the cops because I'm trespassing. At this point I leave, because I didn't think it was worth my time. Actually, looking back I should have waited for the cops to come, point out he dinged my car, and let them resolve the situation. My recommendation is DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. The owner will lie to your face and threaten to call the cops if you stand up for yourself. There are several other 1-star reviews for this place. Don't be fooled like me! read more

This station is really expensive. It's about $.20 more than the average in San Jose. The only reason why I go here because it's right off the freeway on my way to Santa Clara University. I have only gotten gas here so I can't contest the rest of their services. I do have to say that the other customers getting gas here are really nice. They will help you back up your car. I ended up watching another elderly lady go in there to have her teen grandson ask for air so she could blow her tires up. This clerk charged her $20 dollars.
