This is a review for their car wash. The cheapest option is $9. For the price, I don't honestly think it's worth it especially because it doesn't dry your car at all! I've been to $5 express car washes that did a better job than this. If you're desperate for a car wash and need to come here than make sure you have a towel to dry your car after it's been washed. There is someone there who offers services to dry and wax your car afterwards for additional cost. Also if you're paying with a debit/credit card, you have to pay inside first. There's a code you input into the system that's displayed on your receipt. read more

Don't waste your time for their car wash, their car wash has no dryer meaning your car leaves fully wet. I verify this with the attendant which they did not disclose it when you purchase the car wash so be prepared to have a ton of water spots on your car if you don't have a towel and willing to fully dry it, zero dryer read more

Interesting that this business didn't come up on a simple yelp search. The fact that their car wash is a joke may be part of the reason. Ok gas is typical price, no issue there. Actually used RR and found it clean though the soap dispenser was broken. But the biggest oh no, never again was the self service car wash. Needed a quick wash and $8 is totally fine IF my car is washed without my involvement (yeah, that's why people go to these self serve drive throughs, so they don't have to do anything). Though the wash was ok, the machine doesn't dry the car. I was lucky to have a towel in my trunk to dry my car. The clerk said that's it's a SPOT free wash. You tell me, is this spot free? Rode in for some gas...the card reader worked perfectly, as did the pump. My only complaint is the speed bumps around the pumps. Yes, they're painted yellow, but they still caught me unawares on the Suzuki GSX1250FA I was riding...you just don't expect speed bumps around pumps. read more

Shell - Gas Stations Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I just went to get a car wash ($7, $8, $9 are the prices) and I decided what the hell, I'll get the most expensive option, my baby deserves it. I just now got home and almost my entire truck hood is not clean, still has visible dirt. I understand these automatic car washes cannot clean every area well but seriously the top of a cars trunk, really!? In addition the wash I purchased included the "wheel blaster," needless to say there was still grime on my rims that once again should have easily been cleaned with high powers jet streams/water. Disappointed with my $9.00 purchase, to say the least. read more

This is for their miserable car wash. THEY DON'T EVEN DRY YOUR CAR! And they don't inform you until you've paid, waited in line, about to enter, and it's on a little sign ! Also, they give you 3 options for a car wash at the pump, but don't tell you how much Any of them will be! I took the best one, turned out to be $11! WITH NO DRYING! My car looks awful, water spots all over it, windshield the worst, had to use wipers and you can see it. The cheapest wash by this drive in machine (no humans touch it) is $9! NONE of them include drying your car. What kind of car wash is this? A very bad and expensive one. read more

The worst station in the world. Terrible customer service. Don't bother with car wash, doesn't work well at all, and they have no dryer. Waste of time and money And the affiliated uhaul is the worst. Abysmal customer service!!!! read more

I read a bunch of reviews that complained about no dryer and other things. I planned to go the full service place down the street but it was too early so I figured what the heck I will try it this time, I really needed a wash. For $9 I got a quick wash, car was clean, dried spotless with no concern, price was half the full service place and it was done in 5mins. The manager in the store, I believe his name was Deepak was super friendly and I would absolutely go back for a quick wash. read more

DO NOT use this car wash unless you want No DRYER. I told the attendant after the first attempt that the dryer never went off in the car wash, she said she'd push the button, so I circle around and then wait a few min. Finally I call her from my cell and she gives me a new number. I sit and wait for it to dry after another wash, it still doesn't dry. I call again & she tries to tell me that it's a spot free rinse and that there's no air, because of the city....whatever that means! Why does the one down the street have a dryer?! Are you kidding me?! What a waste of $8. I understand communication barriers, but I don't get how she didn't understand the first time. read more

U-Haul Service: Upon checking out the vehicle, I asked the guy to have only flat rate and gas/mileage, no extra charges, he confirmed he did it but didn't give me a copy so that I could see what the charges were. When I returned the vehicle, a second guy said I should leave the key and go. I said I wanted to finalize transaction and get a receipt, he made me wait long time until he would go with me to check the vehicle. Then he was playing with his phone and his computer, claiming that transaction was finalized but I didn't receive an email. I called customer service and after a long wait I could speak to a customer service representative. She confirmed that my account still showed that the vehicle was not yet returned. She called the guy and immediately the guy pretended that he solved the computer issue and he could finalize the transaction and give me a receipt while he was still on the phone. Then I received an email with receipt which showed I was charged an extra $5 for Safe Trip! I only drove 16 miles in the neighborhood altogether, I didn't need road side assistant. I didn't understand why the first guy confirmed that I had flat rate and gas/mileage only. Very bad experience, I spent an hour just to get a receipt and I was charged extra for something that I didn't need although I had asked to have no extra charges. read more

Gas is not the cheapest around the area but I go here pretty much just for the car wash which I love despite the no air dryer. The froyo is alright but some of the topping can be a little stale. They should have let people know their carwash didn't have a dryer. I expected to drive away not get out and dry it.

DO NOT GET A CAR WASH HERE!! The drier doesn't work so after you're done paying $10 for a car wash and your car is drenched you have to pay a guy afterwards to hand dry your car $5. Very deceptive and unprofessional. Of course a car wash includes drying the water off. read more

Terrible car wash! No dryers to dry off your car. You must hand wipe it down yourself. Car wash itself does not do a very good job left several dirty spots. And you get all of this for only 8 bucks! This is a lame excuse for a car wash! read more

Who the hell runs a car wash with no drying/dryer at all? Seriously?? And the only notice of this is on the machine you put your wash receipt code into! Total bs. Worthless. Now I'll have to get it washed again. So you wasted my time, money, and gave my car water spots. What a scam. read more

WORST CAR WASH EVER!!!! 1) No dryer whatsoever! Watermarks were left ALL over my poor benz! 2) Closed at night without any notice to customer until you drive through the long turn style entrance and see the pay kiosk. You can not just pass through the washer when it's closed either, God forbid that would be too easy. So you must reverse out the long curvy entrance and pray you don't scratch your rims against their stupid curve or back up into the obstacle course of poles. All of this could be avoided if the chain off the entrance, put a sign, or leg drivers pass through the shitty car wash. Btw only reason why I went after the first horrible experience was bc I brought microfiber towels with me and I thought it was open late. ATTN LAZY MANAGERS: PUT UP A FREAKING CLOSED SIGN!! I am reporting you to the better business bureau for destroying my poor rims and acting/being so brain dead over the phone. read more

terrible service. any would you have a cash only car wash and not advertise it before people already get in line!!?

This Shell station has an automatic car wash. I take my car here at least monthly for a wash on the way home from work. It doesn't do a very thorough job of washing the car. Even with the most expensive wash option at $8, the brushless system can't clean into the tight crevices. The wheels aren't that clean either. But it is very convenient without having to deal with your own hose, bucket, detergent, etc. The gas prices here are significantly higher than the 76 station a few blocks down on Lincoln (see my separate review). read more

$5 For a wash. Does not really get any cheaper than that. I think it's also fun to sit in the car when the wash is going on. Bring your own towel or use the squiegies at the pump at least for your windows. In and out in 5 min. Most other washes can take an hour. read more

READ!!The reviews about this gas station makes a lot of sense now that I have been through a terrible experience. The cashier (Dipac) is extremely racist and rude. This shell is a retailer for U-haul, I came in for my reservation. He was quick to try and rush things, he took my card for payment, and it didn't work. So I reached in my wallet for another card and he was like "you need to move over now, I must take care of other people." I said "Excuse me Ive already been here for 10 minutes while you were trying to help me please try my second card." He rudely said no you don't matter I work for shell not U-haul. Right after that he said I want to refuse business to you because I don't like you. Keep in mind it says on the window U-haul retailer. I asked if he was racist and prejudice towards me and he nodded. He then kicked all the people out, I refused to leave because I called customer service to complain. He locked me inside of the shell for a couple minutes before he opened up an employee back door. Shell should be ashamed of having a man like this working for them. The overall ratings of this gas station more than prove shady business is going down. Dipac you're a terrible person and you should be ashamed of your actions. I will continue to spread word that you shouldn't do business with this shell. read more

Don't use their car wash! It's outrageous! I paid $8 to drive my car through an unattended car wash. It just washes the car, but does not even DRY it!!! Thinking that the machine clearly must be broken after it left my car dripping wet, I went inside to complain! The employee didn't care at all and simply stated that's just how it is! Great! Thanks for the water stains! Never again.....!!!!!!! read more

Got a carwash here and it turned out pretty good, it has a spot free rinse! Not bad for a quick wash. I'll be back!

Went to purchase a cup of coffee and use the restroom. The employee didn't know where the restroom key was, but she found another key and let me in. Clean, nice restroom, but needed a little bit of touch-up cleaning. Coffee pretty easy and convenient. Not a lot of parking, but somewhat adequate. Somewhat difficult to get out on Lincoln Blvd. Watch out for pedestrians as you're trying to get into the traffic. read more

I really needed a car wash and I went to the only car wash that I could drive through in the area to get it done which was the Shell station... The only time I could get it done was at night and I got there five minutes before the car wash was to be shut down... I was turned away and they would not let me utilize their wonderful car wash as I normally do at night and I was highly disappointed at the poor customer service I received... DO NOT GO TO THIS GAS STATION-my friends and I bought around 8+items, and, after someone tasted something weird in their snack, we learned that every single item we purchased was expired by at least 3 months, some ranging up to 7 months old! this is disgusting and I will never shop here again. Also the car wash is awful. Do not go here. 0/5 stars. read more

HORRIBLE! Went to get a car wash and it had NO DRYER. Wth! What kind of car wash doesn't have a dryer? Do not go to this car wash, unless I want a wet car! read more

This is the biggest scam car wash ive ever been to. First of all this express wash costs $8 for the cheapest wash, which is more than usual. Usually irs $6 or $7. But whatever the extra dollar doesnt deter me. Then I go through the wash to find out that they dont have a blower to dry the car. Not for the $8, nor the $9, nor the $10. Not for any wash in fact, they just simply dont have a blower to dry the cars with. So after paying their exhorbitant prices you have to roll your sleeves up and dry the car yourself. NO problem, ill just park at one of your gas pumps for about 30 minutes and use all the napkins in the dispencer to dry my car. Who needs a blower right? After all it says "car wash" not "car dry." Haha you fooled me, friend, very funny. Heres 1 star for you. read more

The worst place ever. I needed to use the air pump and there is a guy who is not even part of Shell, put his cleaning products there and cleans the cars right in front of the air pump spot. When I asked if I can use it, he said; I needed to wait so he can take care of his customers first. I mentioned about this to the store owner/manager and he just didn't care. They bring this ghetto people here making some extra side cash money and don't care about their company rules or customers. It's unbelievable to see this in Santa Monica. read more

DISHONEST OWNER. Damages cars with his car wash with NO DRYER. There is only one sign that says there is no dryer and that is right before you enter the carwash, after having paid, when there is a line of cars behind you so you have no choice to enter. Has caused water spots on my car. Shell should consider ending relationship with this scummy franchise owner. After years of coming here i'll never return again! read more
